Wow - a cat 2! been2marceline: was that an upgrade or just a waitlist where you paid the difference when the cat 2 opened up?

We are in a cat 4 and I believe the price has gone up about $500 since we booked. I haven't checked lately, though, so it may have gone down again if there are lots of empty staterooms.

Definitely no free upgrades in the Cat 1 - 3 categories!

We WILL be paying the difference, but it should be way worth it!

Wouldn't think of it!

Congratulations!

Anyone interested in organizing a cabin tour? This involves an "open house" of cabins in different categories (typically on a sea day). It's a great way to compare various cabins as you plan your next Disney cruise.

Woody,

We'll do a wine party, after all, that's our business!! People can take a look at the Cat 2 at that time, if they want!

Maybe someone can coordinate the other rooms on the same day? Would love to see both the Walt and the Roy!!!

Awesome! However you want to host a wine party is fine. Perhaps we could plan a Stateroom Tour the hour before, culminating with the wine party in your Cat 2.

Will your stateroom have a CD or DVD player? I could bring some Sting CDs or DVDs.

Any volunteers to offer their rooms for the Stateroom Tour?

Anyone know who's in the Walt or Roy Suite?

Hey Woody, just wondering....why Sting? Is his music a fave of yours? Dh loves the Police & Sting (although not as much as U2!)

I'd have to double check with DH first but we could probably volunteer our Cat 6, but you all have to promise to over look the mess my kids & DH tend to make :lmao:

Let's see the 1st thing I can't wait to do is order that first sailaway drink and relax on deck! Let the kids play in the Mickey pool before the crowds set in. :cool1:

lbullard, my DS is 7 (will be 8 on cruise) and this is his 3rd DCL cruise. He has always been alone in the clubs and he loves them! He's made a few friends but even without them he had a blast. The CM's are very good about getting the kids involved & not letting anyone feel left out.

Linda, look for an email from my DS for your son in the next few days! I'm so sorry he hasn't written yet. He just finished school yesterday and had little league playoffs the last 2 weeks. It's just been so crazy around here lately! We're finally getting a few days off to relax.

Woody,

Last cruise we had a cat 3 and we had both a DVD and a CD player, so I ASSume that we will have both again in the Cat 2.

Bring on the STING!!

Hello fellow cruisers. I just wanted to check in again because I haven't been on the boards for {gasp} months! I've been so busy as we're moving late July from the Boston area to Florida - not far from the port! So, we'll be quite close to the cruise ship and to the parks. I'll visit more often soon and I'll do my best to catch up on all the posts!

Hello. We just booked this cruise. We will be in a Cat 3, however there were not any midship so we are in # 8076 I think. It will be myself, dh, dd 11, dd 6 and ds2. This is our second Disney Cruise. We were supposed to be going to Disney with a group of people during this week but opted for the cruise instead. Our children (and us) seem to prefer the cruise instead of going to the theme parks. We are very excited ! :)

Welcome Parksfamily5. My kids prefer the cruise to the World too, although DH is ready to go back, so we'll just have to make him happy:rotfl2: .

Hi Donna. Greetings from Newtown. Boy, you guys sure move around alot. I wouldn't mind moving to Florida. Is your sister and her family going on this cruise? I thought I read she was considering RCCL this year.

I think we've finally decided on our excurions. We're actually going to book through Disney this year. On St. Maartin, we're going to do the Under 2 Flags Tour. On St. Thomas, we're going to do the Water Island Bike Excursion. We'll just enjoy the paradise of Castaway Cay.

It's getting closer now. Just over 4 months to go!

From another thread, Sting is a favorite of Karen (been2marceline) and mine.

No problem! You're on vacation, so any mess is your Room Steward's responsibility, not yours.

Any other volunteers for the Stateroom Tour?

Woody

Thanks for the welcome.
I have a question for everyone. We are flying to Orlando from Ohio and will get in to the airport around 8pm. ( We would like to go earlier but need the children to be counted for school that day). We have reservations for the Hyatt at the airport. Would you take the Disney transportation to the port or some other kind of transportation? Also, is anyone else staying at the Hyatt the night before this cruise? Thanks.
Heidi

We are also staying at the Hyatt the night before this cruise. We get in around 7:30 for the same reason you stated. We just find the Disney transportation easier and I read that if you leave your bags out, the hotel collects them and brings them to the transporation for you.

Spoohs- I also read that they pick your bags up, but the CM that made our ressies said that since we are not coming in the same day that we are leaving on the bus ( if we choose this option) that we would need to get our own bags to the bus.

They way that I understand it is that they won't pick your bags up at baggage check, but once you check in at the hotel, the hotel picks them up the next morning and brings it to the bus. Can any one confirm this?

Sharon

Now it's official that we're going on the cruise. I finally bought our airfare today. I hate having to wait so long, but southwest's prices are worth it.:)

We're set too! What an agonizing morning waiting for those SW dates to open :lmao: I got ours and by the time I got to do my sister's family (they are outside Philly) the internet special rates were already sold out on some flights coming home. Fortunately, the flight she wanted wasn't one of them yet. She was looking at flights and was getting rates of over $1200 for the 3 of them  I was able to get her SW for about $600.....she's buying the first round on the ship for us ;) But she has her flights, we have ours...we're all happy right now :cool1:

We're going down on the Friday afternoon flight, just like others have said; we need that school attendance day! Spending the night at Country Inn and getting to the port nice & early. I'm finally getting excited about the cruise.

We got lucky and the kids have that Friday off. They also have Monday off and 1/2 day on the next Friday. I am keeping them out of school for two weeks but the are only missing 5 1/2 days of school. On the original cruise we were going to take in December they would have missed 6 days.

Welcome aboard to our new families :welcome:

To all of the kids that we owe email replys too - they will be coming soon. We are going away for the weekend but hope things will calm down after that.

Linda
