Now DD lost a retainer in a bag after eating. It was lost forever (and not cheap to replace) because it was at the Mall and there was no way I could even begin to fathom finding the retainer in the dumpster of that size. But glasses, that's a new one. Glad you got them back. Good for you.

I think I am more excited about receiving the braclets from Shauna than the cruise package.

Drink station on deck nine aft took care of all of our beverage needs on the last trip. I brought drink bottles to fill the first time and din't use them at all so I'll skip that as unnecessary this time. Somewhere on the main thread, somebody posted pictures of the drink choices. I may get a 6 or 12 pack of water when we are in Key West just for excursions. Dining room and drink station beverages are included. Room service, drinks at the theatre concession stand, or sodas from the bar are $$$ on your KTTW card. For you first timers, your Key to the World card - is your credit card on the ship. The ship (and Castaway Cay) is a cashless system. Everything gets charged to your room on your KTTW card.

Working on my travel medical kit. Want to be prepared for curing minor ills as best I can. Can't wait to hit the high seas to be far, far away from my fall seasonal allergies. Am most concerned about the germy plane ride - I may try Airborne this time as I always seem to contract something in the close quarters of that 2 1/2 hour plane ride.

It was VERY cool to see the luggage tags. NOW it's REAL!!!

I have a big accumulation of all kinds of crap on my window seat in my bedroom. If you can call that packing, then I guess I have begun!

Today Ups brought me binoculars and a floating camera strap. I don't want to talk about that OTHER stuff!

At this point, I'm with Nobodycares- I'm more excited to get my bracelets!!!

Oooo- i forgot to mention, i like that idea about bringing the drink mugs to refill at the soda station. We don't drink a whole lot of soda (I'm more water and iced tea), but I'm sure they'll come in useful to mix with OTHER liquids back in my cabin!

I have learned from past travel that the few things you can never find on a trip are the ones you pack first...some are not so great, but trust me NEEDED.

1. Bug bite meds, those red ants will get you every time.
2. Benedryl
3. Pepto product for both child/adult tummies
4. Immodium - yes pepto is good but not for for kids diaherra
5. Hate to say it ladies, but bring a box of Monistat...we will be living in wet bathing suits and finding it in Mexico will be a waste of time !! I would rather throw it out than try to find it.
6. Men, A&D ointment works wonders on the chafing of your issues...again WET suits are horrible especially for little boys.
7. Powder gets sand off feet so no blisters
8. Tylenol, Motrin etc....cures the " what the heck did I drink last night's".
BAND AIDS...we have children !!!
9. Sunburn lotion, we are all gonna need it at some point.

Anyone have any other things they can think of, please add, so I can add to my list. Doing a mental trip to CVS. Then off to Staples.

Got our cruise docs today but the only thing exciting about them is that the cruise is coming soon!

Sorted and MAILED the wristbands today. Now you all have something else to watch for in the next few days. They were mailed in small tan padded envelopes so you know what to look for when the mailman comes around.

If any of you newcomers want in on the wristbands, I have a few extra. They are lime green and say Election Day Castaways 08 and are $3 each. The green is very bright, so we will all be easy to spot on the ship (or in the parks or the airport or wherever).

Speaking about packing--does anyone have any great tips on stuff for a baby? Specifically food tips. I'm planning to pack some baby food, but some of you may have suggestions of what she can eat on board.

I'll be in WDW in 3 weeks from today! Considering we booked on January 30, 2007--3 weeks is nothing!!! We've lived through a lot in the past 20 months--6 months of pregnancy, a trip to Denver to see The Little Mermaid, a trip to Disneyland, an emergency c-section, 100 days in the NICU for DD, 8 months of fun at home with DD, planning, wishing, and dreaming of our trip that begins in 3 weeks!!!! I think we are all a bit excited!!!

quick question, dd is taking swim classes and is very confident in the water with her bubble belt on. Any advice as to wether we should bring it along??? I don't to take it if she will not be able to use it, so I look to you, my fellow EDC's for some advice...to bring or not to bring, that is the question...after all, that space can be used on the way home for some souvies....

Bubble belt will take up luggage space (Is it one piece with a belt attached? How much swimming do you plan on doing, and where? Obviously she won't need it at the Mickey pool, and slide. Goofy Pool she would be allowed to use it. Castaway Cay... if she's getting in the water it would be acceptable. That would be the best place for her to move about and get the most use from her belt. She would be confident, and as a parent you would feel more comfortable.

Yes, it does take up luggage space, but for the enjoyment of your daughter, and your peace of mind taking her belt would be worth it. The best possible outcome would be she would be confident enough to swim without her belt, but vacation is not the time to go cold turkey without at least bringing it along. Take the belt. The pictures of her in the pool with a smile will be better than any souvenir.

I got up this am & watched part of last night's debate.

I was also working on a school fundraiser ... Original Works. The kids at school draw pix on paper. That paper can then be turned into works of art from fridge magnet to kitchen towels, pot holders, key chains, puzzles.

I got 3 classes completed so far. I gotta have these done by Mon. of next week. I am hoping to have them done by Fri. at the latest.

I will do my best to get my #'s back up by the rest of the week ​

DH almost blew the surprise last night.

He mentioned something about going to Mexico. I popped up & said "Of course, we will go to NEW Mexico as we are trying to visit every state in the Union w/ pix of course while we are there!"

Whew, that was a close one!

I am NOT about to blow that surprise as we have kept it secret over 1 year. Which by the way is a NEW RECORD for keeping secrets for me!

FE scrapbookers: I just used the CM Precision Point pen to help get your little gifts together. It was PERFECT for those small pieces! BTW: I am not a CMC.

O.K. ...MINOR surgical procedure done yesterday despite thinking it would be canceled due to cold. I have allergies Dr. said. I repeatedly explained to him that if we did all this in the Caribbean, I would have no allergies !!!
Headed out to do some FE gift wrapping shopping along with very little food shopping. Kids think with economy we have gone to Mother Hubbard status. I explained to them, we are leaving for 3 weeks and everything will go bad, so instead we are doing a pre-trip camping experience...it's called foraging !! Whoever finds something edible in the house gets to have it for dinner....
The combinations have been interesting !! Pizza rolls with Rice-a-roni was DS14 last night, while DS7 found frozen pasta in freezer and ate it with cheese doodles....
Think I will surprise them all with a Turkey dinner tonite, that should give us some leftovers to find next week.

We too are using up what is in fridge/freezer. I am telling the kids "we are having refrigerator blessings. It's a blessing there is something in there!"

I am using up the ham that has been in the freezer since the summer for dinner tomorrow night. It should also provide us with some meals for the weekend & maybe a casserole type dish next week!

I do have enough meals to last through the end of the month. By then the fridge & freezer will be slim pickings. But that's good as food won't be going to waste!
