November 1, 2008 "Election Day Castaways!"

I was just on the disney website and there are currently brunch reservations available at Palo for Monday....just in case anyone was interested.

The board is "a buzz" with activity.

Still no docs but my flight info was released. Flight times look great. Only drawback is DH and DD are seated together and I am off on my own. Not enough available seats on the flight to put us all together but I am thinking a little alone time will be peaceful on the plane as I usually bury my nose in a book anyway.

The excitment is building quickly.

As for teenagers in our group LBIgirl - we are traveling without 14 year old DD.

It only took a few minutes for DCL to tell me what I need to fix on my ressie.

We weren't able to print anything out due to lack of input on my part.:rotfl2:

I did see our one OBC but Dh thought we were due another w/ using the Disney Visa card.

Have a great day!

Yes, I feel like that, too! I keep thinking I need to do 10 million things for the Craft Fair before I go....AND, more importantly, I have to find a gown I want to wear on formal night!

I was on the DCL sight last night, getting very itchy- as in, what else should I do at that spa? But I think I have enough- I want to do soooo many things on that ship;but, I don't want to spend time getting my nails painted when I could be learning about martinis!;)

Is the martini thing something you have to sign up for ahead of time? Or is this something different? I'm a little slow. LOL :lmao:

Holy smokes, you guys are crazy posters! I don't come on here for a day or so and I have PAGES to catch up on!!

For past meet-and-greets, someone brought sticky names tags and a sharpie pen. Also, copies of the list of names/staterooms because there is always someone who leaves that at home, lol.

The martini tasting you sign up for when you get onboard, right? I don't think it's something you can book ahead of time. I'm planning on signing up for this and for the kitchen tour! Last time, our table-mates did this and said it was way cool :)

Will someone direct us when we get there on what we can sign up for....I'd like to do the kitchen tour.

Someone also mentioned trying to get to 2000 posts before we cruise.

I think that you get your "tickets" from guest services. The Navigators will tell you when you can start requesting them.
We have never done either of these but that is how it worked when we did the bridge tour a couple of years ago.

I know this one. The GALLEY tour is listed in your navigator. Just look for the time and location and show up.

We did this last November aboard the wonder - how it worked in that instance was I saw it listed in the navigator - we reported to Triton's restaurant - and there was a big line - they broke us up into groups and we went back into the Galley. It was interesting but everything is spotless and there is no activity going on. The pastry chef did give us a cookie. He is the most important man on the ship because he is in charge of the CHOCOLATE.

We saw the galley behind Triton's and went through the inner workings and came out in Parrot Cay.

Please note that children under a certain age (I don't recall what age but our DD 13 didn't go - she may have been under the limit?) are not permitted.

Another enjoyable item to look for in the Navigators was the cooking demonstration. One of the chef's prepared a dish, we got to sample it, he gave us some interesting tips, and we rec'd a complimentary glass of wine and the recipe for the dish he demonstrated (he cut it down from feeding thousands to feeding a family).

Just thinking about this keeps me happy!!!! Monster day at work.

Just got email from AAA rep....

All documents will be sent to you via UPS about 2 weeks prior to departure date....AAGGHHHH !!!:headache:

Hey! The UPS guy stopped by again today with.......

fish extender parts:upsidedow

Hey, I just looked at my countdown ticker. It's in DAYS! Not years, or months, but finally DAYS!!!!!!:cool1:

and found my dinner is now "main seating"

Does this mean that I have the earlier dinner time?

That is GREAT if it is. The kids & I have been going to be by 8:30 pm and I think we would fall asleep by 9pm.

I saw that you got the main seating so I got really excited and checked mine...still second seating...:sad1: who do i need to bribe to get that early seating...:rotfl:

Have had it from the beginning...I guess you get some preference for being the first to book a cabin on the ship. Don't worry - no UPS man here either.. I'm not holding my breath...I'll be lucky if I'm not calling the last week before the cruise to make sure I get all the docs

Received an Email from Costco Travel today, the documents will arrive 2 weeks prior to sail date.

We were on a waiting list for the early seating and were just moved to it, I didn't think is would happen.
