November 1, 2008 "Election Day Castaways!"

Feel better WuvTigger. Once we survive the trip from home to port, the fresh salt water air does wonder for NJ sinuses.

Congrats Mindy - you got the magic number 2500:yay: :woohoo:  :dance3: :cool1: :cheer2:

Home from work - doing laundry, then making dinner, then putting things in suitcases!!!

We made it to 2500!

All those EDC members who left early are going 2b shocked we got to 2,500 posts before Friday!

of work tomorrow and then it is vacation time!!!   Leaving work at 11:30, coming home to wash DD's blankies and finish packing..going to mom's to pick up bag...come home and get some rest...and up bright and early to catch the 8:15 am flight to Orlando!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Oh yeah, do online check in tomorrow evening as well. I thought I was going to be able to get by with only 3 bags checked but then those darn shoes kept coming...sooooo, I had to pack them (along with the water for my CPAP) in small 21" bag...but hey, only 4 bags to check and only 2 carry-ons (3 if you count the backpack on wheels :) )...Ahhh, I can almost smell the salty air...:cloud9:

I just went to print out boarding passes and with Southwest they place you in groups and by #'s...they put 3 of us together and DS7 by himself...CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS? !!!! :scared1: :scared1:

I just got off phone and they said they would fix it at the gate. I was like NO WAY is he standing alone as we board...FORGET IT !

I just got my hair done.

One more thing off my 2 do list!

Lots to do ... so little time :rolleyes1

I had extra 3 prong pocket folders for each of us. It has spaces to journal daily. I also included some autograph pages for CM's, characters, the captain of the ship :thumbsup2

Those 2+ hours of sleep I got this afternoon seemed to have helped my head etc. Here's hoping I can finish my 2 do list by the end of tomorrow!

Thanks wuv tigger for the link! Great stuff! My DW just printed out journal pages for both kids. I also found some coloring pages and puzzles to print out and take to keep DD entertained in the airport, on the flight, etc. I had NO idea these boards were such a wealth of great information!!

About to call it a night. Our ride arrives 7:00 am for the airport tomorrow morning. See you all on board! Safe travels all...

WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......PHILLIES !!!!!!! :scared1: :cool1:  :cheer2:

28 LONG YEARS I HAVE WAITED FOR THIS....WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Oh man is it gonna suck going to the airport tomorrow in all the parade traffic if they decide to do it then....AHHH WHO CARES.... WOOOHHOOOOOOOO.

WE WIN!!!!!!!!!
Philadelphia Phillies2008 World Series Champions!

Party on Broad St tonight!

LBIGirl... parade is Friday afternoon. We should be flying into Philly during the parade. Normally we fly right over, or along side Citizens Bank Park. I can't wait to view the sea of red!

We have 2 adults and 2 7 year olds. I've been putting things out and the DH has been packing it - now he tells me we have 7 bags....2 suit bags (1 full, and one with a few things) 2 larger suitcases (1 with the kids clothes and one with mine & DH's) 1 smaller suitcase for the weight overflow from the adult bag, 1 bag with everyone's shoes and 1 toiletries bag....I think we have too many bags - he doesn't...what do the more experience cruisers think??? Nothings packed heavy...we erred on the lighter side, and took more bags..

For the three of us we're taking 3 checked bags, and three carryons. It's been a challenge to pack lightly.

We are probably taking too much. For 2 adults and 2 kids ages 9 and 10, we have 3 really large duffel bags with all of our clothing (they are pretty full, but they weigh 40 lbs, so are within weight limit), 1 smaller size duffel bag with things we need for the first 2 days (we are staying at Disney the night before, and also need things for the ship because we may not get the luggage until after dinner), 2 small carryon size bags with all non-clothing items (one we will check in with extra liquids that we couldn't fit in the bag that we are carrying on, plus extra items that we couldn't fit in first carry on), and 2 backpacks.

just in case the luggage doesn't arrive before dinner on Sat.

I am going to finish my magnets today. That sinus stuff set me back 2 days on getting stuff done.

I have to check & double check the luggage while the kiddos are in school today.

The cameras are charged & the kiddos still don't know :cool2:

Have a great day today, fellow EDC's.

See you all at 3 pm on Sat.

It's 32 hours & counting :rolleyes1

Hi,

We're flying out of Philly on Friday night, anyone know if the parade will effect us?

Parade starts at 12N and goes from Town Hall to Citizens Bank Park. Depending on your flight time I-95 is going to be horrible. They are anticipating by news this a.m. over 100,000 people or more to be there....which is INSANE. We fly out tonite and miss it all, but I am headed to Dick's first thing this morning and plan on wearing my RED shirts down proudly !!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

LBI - on our return flight we don't have seats together on USAir but maybe they can fix it when we check in. I am off on my own with my very own window seat on the way back. DD and DH are several rows ahead of me. Actually, this may not be a bad thing. :cloud9:

Now of course I am happy that the Phillies won, but I fly out of PHL on Friday. :scared1:

Our flight is around 6 p.m. Maybe if we leave for the airport around 2 instead of 3 and come up from the Commodore Barry Bridge instead of down from the the Walt Whitman to stay away from the sports complex area??? All of my carefully planning has been tweaked by a celebrating mob of Phillies Fans. Angst!!!!! At least you get to fly over the mob Pluto's Pup.

We put the things in the bags last night - I can just hear everything getting wrinkled!!! Three checked bags and three carry ons for the three of us. The only problem is that we are going to be tight on bringing home any souveniers. My plan to cover that contingency would be to check one of the carry ons on the way back and then carry on the souveniers on the flight home. Last year I went crazy with buying beach towels and they are bulky and heavy (but bring back great memories everytime we use them), so I won't feel that need this trip.

Took a shot of Airborne last night - stopped at the Mall yesterday at lunch and encountered a sick woman coughing and sneezing everywhere. Why, I ask, did she feel the need to spread her germs? :sad2: Gonna have another Airborne cocktail tonight and have convinced myself through the power of positive thought that this will keep me from getting airplane ick.

Have one more trip to CVS to get some more last minute incidentals. Gotta double check my list to make sure I didnt' forget anything.
