Hi everyone! Another week down. I'm now focused on counting down until the end of the school year and summer vacation starts for me.(May 26). I'm getting antsy about not going anywhere this summer because we are going to WDW in Nov. I may have to do a trip to the beach somewhere. I am at a standstill in the planning. Not much more to do until the park hours come out.:confused3

First onsite trip Nov 22 -28 Booked yesterday and added dining. I'm so excited for my family. Any good ideas for Thanksgiving dinner?

This will be my 4 y/o 3rd trip and DH and I's 5th!!

I don't have ideas for dinner but I do want to welcome you to the November thread! We are going Oct.29-Nov.3 for our first trip. Hope to see you around the boards!

I think we'll be trying the California Grill for Thanksgiving Dinner. In 2006 we tried Jiko for Thanksgiving, and it was very good.

Welcome!! I have never gone to Disney around Thanksgiving, so as far as Thanksgiving dinner at Disney I'm not sure.

If it were me I would probably go somewhere that the whole family likes. I would also decide if we wanted a buffet or not. That narrows the choices down. For buffets you could go to Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace. Then there are a couple family style places like Liberty Tree Tavern (which has food like a Thanksgiving dinner) and Garden Grill which both have characters. Also think if you want something really nice like California Grill, LeCellier, Coral Reef...etc. Maybe even a Signature restaurant. Or maybe a fun place like 50's Prime Time Cafe.

I would decide what type of dining we want, and for me it would be important that everyone likes the place, especially since it would be our Thanksgiving dinner.

Welcome to the board! I will be there the same time as you! Last time we had a Thanksgiving buffet was at the Cape May cafe. It was okay, not really that good. I am waiting for the Thanksgiving dining specials are posted, but I am thinking about going to Ohana this year. Based on last year's offerings, they presented dinner "Family style" with the usual Thanksgiving fare. That is what we have in mind so far.

I have heard Liberty Tree Tavern is a good Thanksgiving Meal, but when were expecting to be there on Thanksgiving I was going to try to book Le Cellier.

i'm so sick of waiting... this is what i get for book ANOTHER vacation so far out. The suspense is killing me!!!:scared: I keep trying to give myself little goal marks to count down to so that it won't seem as long but its not helping! Sure there are only 23 days until I can make ADRs and thats not that far away but I just want to get there so i can do this.... :woohoo:  :yay:

Anyone have any ideas on how to curb my insanity for alittle while??

I haven't brought tickets or organised car hire or booked the hotel and parking at the airport....but all of these can wait as there are only 18 days until I can make my ADR's LOL!!!!!!! :teeth:

hahaha!!! All i have so far is a hotel and dinning plan!! other than that i have no park tickets, no flights set, or someone to watch my puppy yet!!! But hey... those ADR's are on the way!!!!

I have never booked a vacation more than 3 months in advance before so this time the wait feels like an eternity. DH just shakes his head when he finds me checking out travel sites for a short break in the summer ;)

I´ve only booked the flights and hotel though, + a week in a villa. Yet have to find accomodation for a week in the Keys, 1 night at Sanford airport, car hire and tickets.

There's talk with some of my other threads for a mini meet in August at Cedar Point.

Do you mean a "mini DIS meet" in August at Cedar Point?! We're planning on going to Cedar Point this Summer but haven't decided when yet. If there's going to be a mini DIS meet, I'd be interested in joining if you'd have me and my family! :)

I have the hotel, 6 day park hopper tickets, and the dinig plan. We do plan to drive (about 13 hours) unless Southwest has a great ding offer. Then we will fly. Dh is the only one who has flown (well Oldest DS and DD has flown in a small 4 seater plan) so it would be a first for the majority of the family. But it would only take an hour to fly, so it definitely would be a plus.

I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dad's 60th birthday is in November, and he told me over the weekend that he booked a 3 bedroom condo for the week of Thanksgiving for my parents, my family (me, DH & 2 DS's) and my brothers family (brother, his wife, and their 2 little ones). I'm so excited!!! It's been about 2 years since we've been to Disney, my brother hasn't been since he was younger w/my parents and I, and his wife and their kids have never been!!

But SOOOOOOOOOOO stressed. We've never been during busy times, and I've read Thanksgiving week horror stories!! Plus, since we're staying off-site there's no EMH to help us. :scared:

I think I speak for most of us when I say that we can relate. What I'm doing is looking forward to other things as well as Disney World. Last year, when I hadn't gone for 12 years, I counted down from July, and even that was tough. This year I know how great a time it is and so I've been thinking about the trip much earlier. But it's over 220 days away for me right now! I don't want to wish so much time away!
So the biggest thing right now is to embrace the coming summer, which is wonderful in upstate New York. I looked at the average highs for Orlando and Albany in the summer, and for June-July-August-September the average is 91-92-92-90 in Orlando and 78-80-82-71 in the Hudson Valley...... as I prefer not to slow roast, I'd rather be here! After that, it's just a matter of thinking about great things that I'm doing during the summer (and really, into the autumn months as well, which are when the Adirondacks are mesmerizing). A few pages back I listed some of them.... perhaps it'd help if you did the same!
I figure that once the summer is over, we'll be under 100 days, and then the countdown will be on in earnest. Average in Orlando in November? 79. In Albany? 48. That's when I want to be there!
