November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

THANKS EVERYONE!!!! :grouphug:

I'm so glad to have my DIS friends to help make me feel better!!! Thank you, Jo, for making the announcement to send me OctoNoveCember'er hugs! :)

You guys are all great!!!!

I am going stir crazy. My youngest has ran a fever since Monday. He has a throat infection. Possibly Strep but it came back negative although the dr said he really thinks it should have been positive. I am just ready to get out of this house for a bit.

Sandy,

I'm sorry your youngest is sick. Hopefully he is feeling better soon. It's so heartbreaking to have sick children. I hope it's not Strep...I had that ONCE and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy (If I HAD a worst enemy...I don't have enemies...at least I don't think I do!) ;)

Hi everyone. I am not even sure if I have posted this correctly..But my family and I will be going DisneyWorld November 14-19. My DH travels to China for business and has racked up some air miles that we are using.. (thank you dh) We are staying at the hotel my son (age 12) picked All Star Sports. Any hints suggestions for this resort? We are from Oregon so it is a long way away from home for us and it is our first trip to Disneyworld! We are all so excited and I am finding myself obsessing over every little detail.. But it is so much fun. I look forward to reading all of the tips and advice that I can get!

One question I do have right off the bat is if my son wants to ride on rides that I cant go on is there single rider lines? I am a bit worried he will feel lonely riding by himself if his father and I dont want to ride the scary ones.. or is this not really a big deal?

I look forward to waiting in anticipation with all of you until NOV 2008 YA hooo....

We are going Nov. 5 - 16th and staying at Pop Century!! We can't wait to go back :yay:.

My wife and I stayed at Pop for the first time last May. To be totally honest, prior to our stay at Pop, we didn't have very high opinions of the Value Resorts. Our stay at Pop, completely changed that for us! We loved Pop! The theming is amazing, the pools are wonderful, the food court is excellent and the bar by the main pool makes some really strong and delicious drinks! :thumbsup2

We are now DVC members, but if we weren't, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Pop again.

Oh..and an edit for my dates. I added another day! November 8-15th now at AKV. I'm hoping to switch to the Beach Club Villas at the 7 month DVC booking window. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Oh..and a hug for Sandy!

Thanks Deb. He isn't getting any better. Still 100+ temp off and on today. Its been that way since Monday. I am calling the other DR Monday to see about getting him to check him. Blake (my youngest) has big tonsils anyways and always seems to have throat problems. Well I couldn't get in to see the Dr that normally sees him (darn all this flu going around!) so I took him to the other clinic and he saw a different dr (not even the normal one he would see there), and I was not happy with him at all. But though the Amoxicillan he put him on would work so I didn't say anything. Now I am regretting taking him to that clinic after all. So I am calling the other one and begging to be seen because they know more about his throat history.
I was actually thinking about asking if it would help if he had his tonsils out. And I was thinking that to myself when all the sudden Blake asked if he would have to have surgery  Now how was he reading my mind...That was weird.

We stayed in All Star Sports in 200. It was my DH, Me and our then 4 yrs old and 2 year old. It was okay. Nothing fancy, but definitely fun for our children at that age. We are staying at POR this time since there are now 5 of us, but we debated getting a family suite at all star music for the extra bathroom. My kids like the giant icon etc they have at the value resorts.

Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble... I've been there with my DS8. He had strep all of the time and had huge tonsils. He did have them out last year and hasn't been sick once since then. It was not a fun thing to go through, but worth it in the end I think. I hope he gets better soon and you don't have to deal with surgery.

It is going slow for us too. We can't wait for spring, but at least we live in Tennessee. It has been cold, but thank goodness no snow. My sister lives in Indiana. I grew up in Michigan, and I do not miss the snow.

I've lived in Michigan my whole life. SE Michigan. Where did you live?

My 2 youngest have been sick since Feb 3. My older daughter 3, is on her third antibiotic. It's been crazy over here with being sick. My sons started it at christmas with the flu, both of them a day apart. Let's just say, without making this a very long post, that it's been going on over here since then. We've had EVERYTHING. I've never experienced such a thing.

I'm ready to walk in the dr.'s office and having them take me to my suite.

I'm sure I paid off someone's loan over there.

Hugs to those who need it.

I lived in Saginaw. Ever heard of it?

I hope your kids get well soon. :flower3: I know it seems never ending. My kids had the flu really bad. They were sick for about two weeks. I really need to get them on vitamins or vitamin C.

My kids do take vitamins, but they ahve also been sick off and on since Christmas. I think its just a bad sick season this year.

Monica, I hpe your kids feel better soon.
I have done my research and am definitely talking to the doctor on Monday when I beg to have Blake be seen. He has large tonsils and has reoccuring strep so I think the Dr will at least agree with me he does fit the criteria. especially since sore throats are 90% of his sicknesses.

Heard of Saginaw? We drive through it going "up north" to the cottage every summer. Plus from the Detroit area my DH had to deliver product to stores there. Well his people did anyway.

Booked, ready to go. Will be there for son's 11th bday on 12/3 with DH,DS, DD, Mom, MIL, FIL,SIL so we get Magical Gathering. Will be trying Safari MG and maybe others. Can't wait to get out of the cold.

Hey guys. Just thought I'd update y'all on Blake (youngest DS). He went to school today. YEA! He didn't run any fever yesterday and was up playing. It was so weird. He just broke his fever through the night Saturday. So I didn't take him back to the DR today. I am still going to call and talk to him about removing his tonsils still. But at least he is feeling better now.

Sandy - I am glad to hear about Blake. I bet that was a huge relief when his fever finally broke. I am glad he is feeling better. When I was little I was sick all the time with strep throat. I had my tonsils removed when I was 5. My mom says that after that I rarely got sick. I really don't get sick as an adult either.

Let us know what the Dr. says.

Count me in although I still haven't made up my mind where we are staying yet or had a chance to read through the 36 previous pages yet. Our fourth annual girls only weekend and I wouldn't miss it:cheer2: Happy planning.
