DW told me in NS the spring break will be Feb 11-27 2011. So we're planning 2 weeks in Orlando.

We're planning to see the new Harry Potter land, Seaworld and Aquatica, which we haven't seen before.

I think 21 Feb 2010 is the soonest I can try to book Aeroplan flights for 11 Feb 2011 (355 days ahead).

Anyone else going then?

The crowds shouldn't be too bad I hope, I think most states and provinces still have their breaks sometime in March.

I'm in ... didn't know that Harry Potter land would be finished by then .... but I'm in ..

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter should be finished within 6 months, 1st half of 2010.

I hope they have something similar to Disney's Jedi training academy, pirate school or that princess etiquette class in Disneyland. Something like a sorting hat ceremony or a magic lesson of some kind.

I think it'd be super cool if they used some 3D technology from the Disaster! ride in an interactive fashion like Nemo at EPCOT and combined them into a 'defense against boggarts' class. Make a hundred or so boggart graphics and then ask the kids "Who's afraid of spiders?" then send them against the spider graphic. Probably too scary for younger kids, though.

It's only HRM that has the 2 weeks, so airfare shouldn't be an issue!

We're planning something for this time, too (we're in HRSB).

I think there will be a lot of coming and going at the Halifax Stanfield Int. airport... remember that people will be flying in and out for the Games that caused the schedule change in the first place. I am looking to book flights sooner rather than later... but would love to hear whether other people think there's likely to be lots of sold-out flights!

About the crowds... unfortunately this break takes in the US Presidents' Day holiday weekend, so the crowds will be insane for at least that weekend. Also, only New England schools seem to have a similar school calendar to ours... lots of schools in other regions of the US will have breaks in February.

So my strategy is that we're planning to do a cruise for this part of the break. I figure, at least on a cruise ship you know how many people there are going to be!

But so far I haven't really started planning except in the vaguest way.
