I was planning on the first week of November (NOT including a weekend) for many reasons, esp. crowds. Just found out the CA AP holders are basically blocked most of the summer but the calendar isn't up through Nov.

I am wondering if they have been blocked all summer if they will flood the park (esp. with Carsland) in the fall. If so, that will make it not such great timing for us after all.

SoCal block out dates end Aug 19th. I doubt it will have an impact by Nov. Kids are still in school.
But, I'm sure it will still be busier than previous years due to CL.

Happy Planning!:goodvibes

I am curious about what is happening also. We are booked to go November 6-15 and was thinking about changing hotels. Quite a few of the hotels are showing no availability. I was thinking/hoping that it was just because of the Veterans Day weekend but not sure. :confused3

Rosie I think in general that this year is going to be different than usual as far as crowds go but more than likely your issue is probably due to veterans day...well not the whole time but veterans weekend is when they record the christmas parade...

You know the amount I spend reading these boards, you'd think that I would have caught that somewhere :confused3...well that's pretty sweet for us! We were only going to spend one day of the weekend and maybe, just maybe we'll hold out for the parade day:cool2:

hey you might get on tv;)

The Christmas parade is typically taped the first weekend in November, which would be the 3-4 this year. At least the last few years that's when it has been taped. We were there the first weekend of November last year and saw parts of it being taped. We watched One Republic and Christina Aguilara record their stuff for the parades as well!

I doubt they would tape it the weekend of Veteran's Day as that is a busy weekend at the parks.

That first weekend in November is one of the slowest of the year due to the change over from Halloween to Christmas!

i swear that they used to do it on veterans day weekend... just assumed i guess becaus a couple years ago we went for the weekend over veterans weekend and they were filming it then...it was 2009??? i think???:confused3

We were thinking of Nov. 4-9. So it sounds like the CA AP holders would not be blocked during our trip. We won't be affected by any taping either weekend. We really need an AP discount for the DLH.

Veteran's day used to NOT be blocked out for AP's, then about 5 years ago, when we went on Veteran's Day (we had been going for at least the previous 4 years), DL was at capacity by 11 am and DCA was packed too. I couldn't believe it. We walked into DCA, looked around and left and saw a movie. We haven't been back that day since, but of course 2 years later, it was added to the blockout dates for SCA passes. I wonder if it's as bad now that those passes are blocked. I haven't dared go back since that day

We were there last year Nov 3-6. 3rd (Thursday) was one of the lightest days I've spent at Disneyland (second only to the day after MLK day), 4th was a busier (but manageable), 5th (Saturday) they filmed the parade, moving down Main Street (your only option for getting in/out of DL if you have an ECV and a wheelchair in your party and your friends you were supposed to meet in CA went into DL first and promptly lost their tickets...) was impossible. I would avoid it unless you actually wanted to spend your day attempting to get on TV. They also had a stage setup in front of the castle pretty much the entire time, so even though we were buying the photopass - no castle picts. :headache:
