Hello All!

My title is not very original. I have been to Disney many times over the last few years but have never done a trip report! I enjoy reading others but today I decided o do my very own! And away I go ....

My cast of characters:

Me

I love Disney! yes I love Disney and everything Disney! My 1st trip was with my family in 1985. We drove from Nova Scotia Canada to Florida! We went to Magic Kingdom for one day and thats when I fell in love! Fast forward to the year 2000.... I went with my DH, DD and DD. Alot had changed but I was in love!

DH

He enjoys Disney but he likes to be the strong silent type...lol... He talks about Disney with people and boy oh boy he can pull off that he planned it all! He looks forward to our yearly trips!

DD # 1

She loves to travel and Disney has always been her choice! This year she will celebrate her 28th birthday there! She has missed a few family trips because she stayed home with her boyfriend. She has never experienced Disney during the Christmas decorations.

DD # 2

She LOVES Disney too! She is all about characters! She loves meet and greets! She is 23. She enjoys rides and being in the sunshine! One of the things we enjoy is she can remain in her wheelchair and ride!

DS

He also enjoys Disney! He likes watching his sister's face light up when she sees characters, he is always pointing them out to her. He has grown up Disney! He will be 17 and in his grad year! He is making plans to have a free period 1st term so he does not miss too many classes. School comes easy to him so it works out.

My Mom

She will be 78 in a few weeks! This will be her 1st trip since that one day in 1985. This is a surprise trip for her! My dearest Dad passed away on March 14/16. We miss him dearly every day. I had been planning our trip since our last trip in Sept 2015! I had purchased our airfare in Feb 2016, I have since purchased my Mom's airplane ticket. My Mom does not know yet.... hopefully she enjoys herself!

So thats my group! I am not tech savey, so I will get my DS to help me add pics as I go!

Today is my 7 month booking window! So I am waiting to book only 5 mins until I can secure the final touches on our trip! I hope to get my Mom's birth certificate today so we can work on her passport! She seems to have a mispelling with her name, so its kind of nerve wrecking. Thankfully West Jet will allow a name change on her airline ticket if need be! This will be our 1st time flying West Jet!

Well thats all for now ... time to make the call!

My new update is we are all booked now! Yes we are doing a split stay, we are fans of the split stay. We like the change of scenery. Disney does a great job transferring the luggage so it has never been a problem.

Here are our plans:

Nov 13-15 OKW 2 bedroom villa ...... waitlisted for AKV 2 bedroom at kidani!

Nov. 15-18 BCV 2 studios

Nov. 18 - 21 BWV 2 bedroom villa ...... waitlisted for the next night Nov 21-22 ... I hope the waitlist happens!

Nov. 21 - 22 BWV 2 studios .... but hoping for the waitlist so we can remain in the 2 bedroom!

Nov. 22 - 25 Poly in 2 studios

So .... thats the plan! WOW!!! it looks like alot of jumping around but we will get to enjoy some time at our favorite resorts! My DD # 1 has never stayed at BC or OKW so this will be a new experience for her. A family favorite is BC! We are looking forward to BWV referb .... the Poly has always been on the radar so this trip it will happen!

I linked all of my reservations together. I am now waiting to make dining reservations! Hurry up May!!!!

Our dining reservations are always a family agreement. Everyone decides where we should go. When my kids were younger I would let each of them pick 1 table service. Even today at their ages 28,23 and 17 they still want to pick "their" restaurant.

TS restaurants on the radar:

TRex
Beaches and Cream
Hollywood and Vine
Crystal Palace
Cape May
Akershus Royal

We have been to all of the above but they seem to be the favorites! I know Holloywood and Vine has changed so that will be different.

I think we will do QS for 1/2 the trip and TS for the other 1/2. My DH would also like to eat off property. He would like to go to Red Lobester and Golden Corral. The last few years we also went to Ponderosa, as we no longer have that here. I would like to go to Dennys or IHOP for breakfast. We are renting a car on Nov 22-24, our shopping days!

Now to wait for MVMCP tickets to come on sale! Yep another surprise for my family :)

We went in 2011 with our DD # 2 and DS... this year all of our family will be able to go!

Hi there! I just noticed you have this going :)
I'm glad you got yourself covered resort-wise for all your nights and I hope your waitlist comes through! Even though we won't be at BC the same time, you'll be right across the water from us a few nights at BW while we're at BC :thumbsup2 And that's great you guys get to try the Poly!

I'm so sorry about your dad. I know it's hard, I lost my dad in 1999 when he was only 52. I truly hope you and your mom are finding peace.

I look forward to planning our trips together :goodvibes

Hello.. You are my 1st reply! Thank you!

I had never done one of these before but always enjoy reading them! I am glad we have our nights booked. The Poly has always been on our to do list so we decided to give it a try this trip!

I miss my Dad every day, today marks 1 month. Sorry about your Dad he was young... I was with my Dad until the very end and I do take peace in that.

I am following your postings as well! Lets plan away :)

We'll be overlapping several dates (checking in on the 13th as well) :) also eagerly awaiting MVMCP tickets to be released. Not sure I could handle to bouncing personally but love that you will be able to try so many places - we loved poly <3

I'm sorry for the loss of your father :( but how wonderful to get to take your mom back for the first time since she took you :)

Thanks for the kind words. Yes I am so happy to be taking my Mom! She will be excited when she sees it :) Glad to hear you liked the Poly! My DS has always wanted to stay there. My DD # 1 loves AKV and DD # 2 loves BC so we try to accommodate everyone. I am looking forward to MVMCP!

Our waitlist came through so we will now be at AKV Jambo house No 13-15!

Hi! We'll be there Nov. 12-23. It sounds like we were both doing the countdown dance. I have two wait lists as well, one night each. Hoping some of that pixie dust gets sent to me.

That's awesome!! We're currently wait listed at BCV for our last 3 nights. Not too confident it'll come through but I won't give up hope!

We don't get there until Nov 27, the 26th if we decide to stay at a value for one night.

Can't wait to check in at the Floridian. And I am counting down the days to make ADR's.

It will be fun reading as you plan.

I resort hop too. We are going oct 30-nov 9 and are staying at yacht club, beach club, and art of animation.

Yes, don't give up! I hope it comes through for you!

I hope we get to stay in the 2 bedroom at the BWV instead of moving to 2 studios for the last night.

Yes counting down the days to make ADR!!!! Oh the GF what a beautiful resort!!! Its on our bucket list!

We enjoy resort hopping! Disney makes the move easy too! We never fully unpack we tend to hang a few things but thats it, so its easy! My kids like to pick a resort so this way they get to enjoy their favorite resort! We have let them decide, same as when we make ADR! Each of my kids pick a TS meal. So its a fun way for us to plan and increase excitment! My kids are now 27, 23 and 17!!! My oldest DD will have her 28th b-day there this year!!!

BC is one of our favs! AOA is on our bucket list too! What room did you book at AOA?

Each of my kids pick a TS meal
I just mentioned in my PTR that I always have each of my boys pick a TS meal, and they've picked their choices for our Nov. trip. I like to involve them with the planning; plus since DS14 is getting older and unfortunately out-growing some (just a few!) things down there, it's nice that he's interested in where we eat and gives him something else to look forward to doing/planning.
Younger DS10 actually snuck in a 2nd request last week, and I'm just so happy whenever one of them shows interest I'll most likely accommodate him!
