I just could not stay away from my favorite place in the world! My friend and I are going to make plans to head to Lake Buena Vista Veterans' Day weekend! Anyone know what this time of year is like? Will anyone else be there? And I'm wondering if I should extend the trip until Tuesday or leave Monday...hmm.

It will be a busy weekend. It is the last weekend of the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. It is the same weekend as the Wine & Dine Half Marathon. It is the same weekend as Festival of the Masters at Downtown Disney. And it is a federal holiday long weekend.

Thanks, jeanigor! I was hesitant to take the plunge for the reasons you mentioned: half, F&W, holiday. Most websites don't list this weekend as particularly crowded but I can see the culmination of events resulting in crowd land! Epcot is pretty absorbent, though, and I didn't realize Festival of the Masters was coming at that time! Zip-a-dee-doo-dah!

For me, nothing tops MNSSHP--I just can't afford to go at that time between school, work, and other obligations. It's either Veterans' Day weekend or the week before Christmas for me if I go this year...and it might be one of the last times I can take a vacation in the off-season for a while...and I'm intending to make full use of my remaining vacation days!

So the up-sides of this trip would be Food and Wine, Festival of the Masters, Osborne Lights, and maybe the weather. I'm not sure about the weather, though (chilly?) and crowds. I want to catch part of the Wine and Dine Half and stroll the Boardwalk. I also wonder if there will be any special events for veterans. Special Flag Retreat or American Adventure event, maybe?

Or maybe it's better if I just wait until the mine coaster is complete? Or maybe I should try Anaheim? It seems so far and more expensive, though, and WDW is home.

My boyfriend and I will be there from 11/9-11/13. It was a spur of the moment trip as we got 30% off the room (Boardwalk Villas). We have tickets for the Christmas Party on 11/11. We know it will be crowded so we plan to just enjoy the F&W, relax and do what we can. We were there for 8 days in May and we did just about everything; the parks weren't very crowded that week at all.

Whew! It's been a crazy week! That's fantastic. I'm jealous--Epcot resort area is my favorite place and I've been craving a taste of the magic every day! I can't wait to get my hands on some Zebra Domes and Dole Whips and Mickey Premiums and...I need to stop but I have such a sweet tooth. Chilling sounds like a great plan. Will you be at Epcot most of the time? I can't wait to check out the kiosks and Boulangerie. I've been eyeing the menus. Do you think the Xmas party is worth seeing? We have pretty much decided to do Florida.

With the variety of events going on, I think the large crowds will be fairly nicely dispersed. Except of course for F&W. Weekends there are always busy. If you can, I would recommend leaving on Tuesday; a majority of holiday weekend traffic leaves on Monday.

Weather is usually nice that time of year. Days in the 70's, nights in the 60's or 50's, with little chance of rain. I say usually, because we have seen rain, and we have seen temps in the 90's. We always visit this time of year. We will be leaving the 7th though, to avoid the holiday crowds! We love spending our mornings at one of the parks, and afternoons/evenings gorging ourselves at the F&W! :rotfl2:

Have fun on your trip! Glad you are getting a chance to go!

And it's Jersey week. Good luck. :lmao:

Jersey Week isn't nearly as crowded as some make it out to be. It's much more crowded during the summer months (and let's not even talk about spring break or Christmas).

Thank you all for the tips and info! So it's kind of a downer to spread my excitement and hype then change plans but...that kind of tends to be how most of my plans go. I won't be seeing the Mouse after all this fall. I'll be visiting my parents and Dollywood with my friend, who just visited WDW this summer but has never been to Dollywood! Im okay with that given that it's less expensive, closer, closer to nature, novel for my friend, and that there is still construction at WDW. I haven't been to seen fall in that part of the country in ages. Sorry if I disappointed anyone...false hope again. I should probably do this since I won't see my folks during Thanksgiving, though. We will aim for Disney next year!
