Nov. 4th, 2012 Dream cruise meet thread!

I also think we need to have a rule put in place...everyone participating needs to get something for every room. I have read recently where some people only buy for a few rooms and feel thats ok...it's not. Ot they don't give anything to the rooms that have adults only.
I also think we should have a limit of 15 or 20 in a group...if we get more than that, than we can split it up into 2 groups.

No worries. Here's a quick rundown on how we've handled it in the past. You MUST deliver at least ONE gift to each stateroom. You can deliver more, or deliver to all people in the stateroom. You must deliver your gifts by noon on the last day so that people can pack them up that evening for the trip home. I like to keep the number of staterooms to around 15. Once we go over that, we'll look at splitting into groups. Then you must deliver to your group, but can deliver to all if you like.

Don't fret this FE thing too much. It's all for fun!

So will we get a list of everyone or is it up to us? Just trying to prepare and make sure we bring enough. :)

I'd love to hear examples of what people have used as FE gifts before. I'm clueless of what to bring.

We will get a list.

There are some threads on here about Gifts to give.

I know the last cruise we received magnets, lots of candy, post cards, small toys, pirate loot, CD, book marks, and things that had to do with a persons home state.

So will we get a list of everyone or is it up to us? Just trying to prepare and make sure we bring enough. :)

Just follow the link in my signature to see the list. It will always be up-to-date, so if you don't see yourself on the list - SCREAM!

And if you see any discrepancies, let me know. I've been known to miss it when someone bows out. But I try :)

Off for a Fantasy Eastern Caribbean cruise and a week at WDW. Will be back on June 3.

If you post your information, I'll get it on the spreadsheet when I get back.

For those of you who are in the official "WDW Radio" group, they posted a message on the forum for that site that they are putting together a FE exchange group if any of you are interested in participating in two separate groups!

Awesome!! Thank you so much!!

My DW, 2 daughters and I are joining you all on this cruise. We are quite excited :cool1: We have been on 3 Disney Cruises, but this is our first on the Dream!:banana:

Please count us in for the Fish Extender!:yay:

We will be in Room 8188. It will be me, my DW, DD (14), and DD (11)

I agree with keeping the groups relatively small, probably around 15 rooms. I would also encourage all the deliveries of gifts to be done at least one day prior to the end of the cruise, otherwise, you have to rush and pack the gifts in your luggage at the last minute instead of eating/enjoying/using them on the cruise. On our last cruise, we got a lot of fun, and thoughtful gifts, but we also got a fair amount of repeat gifts. We ended up getting so many duplicate gifts that we were able to share 4 bags of goodies (candy, pirate stuff, pins, etc) with families that we met in the dining hall who weren't in the FE--- they really seemed to enjoy them, and we didn't have to bring home a bunch of duplicate gifts.

Looking forward to meeting you, and hearing your excitement for the cruise! :cheer2:

Dan :woohoo:

Dan, got you on the spreadsheet. When you get a chance, could you send me, or post, the names of DW and DDs? Some folks like to personalize their gifts.

Cheryl, got you guys on the spreadsheet. I'm guessing we'll do like they did for the All Ears cruise we were just on (we weren't part of the group). It was handled as two different FE exchanges, except if you were on both lists and delivering to someone that was one both lists, I guess you only had to deliver one gift (not one for DISboards exchange AND one for All Ears). Hardest part would be keeping track of the two lists to make sure that you knew how many gifts to make/buy.

OK folks. Since I've done this a couple of times I'll volunteer to keep the list. I keep it on Google Docs so you can always grab a copy and print it out, etc.

To get on the list, just post with the following information:

Adults with name and ages: John (57), Pam (55)
