Nov. 23-30, 2013 Seven Night Western on the Fantasy

This is a good idea !! Post a link if you start one. Also, everyone is welcome on the Facebook page. I imagine this thread and the FB page will get more active as the time for the trip gets nearer. Getting my Disney fix in 5 days. Can't wait !!

Have fun at Disney! It has been pretty warm down here lately, but we're expecting a "cool" off that will probably bring it around low 70's. Though the forecast keeps saying it will cool off and it doesn't.

Hi everyone. I am new to posting on this board although I have been reading it for a while now. We will be on this Thanksgiving cruise and I thought this may be a good way to meet some other families similar to ours. My daughter Caroline will be 11 and my son Colby will be 8 on this cruise. We look forward to meeting some of you. This will be our 5th Disney Cruise.

Hello! Our daughter Rory will be 8 as well, and our son Eli will be 4. This will be our 2nd Disney cruise, and our first time on the Fantasy.

We are certainly looking forward to another Thanksgiving Cruise! Last year was amazing!! This will be our 4th DCL, but first time on the Fantasy and we have another one booked on the Dream for March 2014! My daughter will be 11 next month and it would be great if she got to meet some kids her age on this upcoming crusie! :) 310 days and counting!!

That is cool. We will have to find a way for our daughters to communicate before the cruise. I know my daughter would love to know some people her age on the boat.

My family cruises every Thanksgiving, but we usually alternate between Disney and RC. However, we loved the Fantasy so much this past Thanksgiving, we booked for this coming year before even getting off the boat! I've never been on this forum- a friend told me about it this morning!

Someone asked about CC weather. The outside weather is always great, but the water there is a little chilly each time we've been in November. Kids don't seem to mind, so it's not a big deal. :)

I've never done FE before and would love to learn more about it. My kids will be 8, 10, and 11 this year and I think they'll love it. Is it a gift each day? Are there any guidelines?

Can't wait to learn more!

OK, I created a Facebook page for our cruise. Any and all ideas and suggestions are welcome. Feel free to discuss future Disney trips, post photos, share fish extender ideas, give and receive excursion advice ..... all that fun stiff !!

Here is the link

I am not sure how this is supposed to work, but I think you give me your Facebook name and then I can add you. Once you are a member of the group, then you can add people yourself.

This should be fun !! Just let me know here or message me on Facebook at Let me know if any one has any trouble with the link and we will get ti worked out. I will start a Fish Extender list this week.

This will be fun !!
Welcome to the group! I've cruised every other holiday except Thanksgiving so looking forward to it.

FE (Fish Extender) is almost like Secret Santa by giving gifts to folks on the list. The gifts are placed in a Fish Extender that hangs from the fish hook beside the door. Youbcould buy one or make your own. You choose whether to give a gift each day or once; to each person or to the cabin. Its up to you! And you can choose when to give it as well. It can be anonymous or you can listyour name or DISBoard name. The person who started the FB group is also doing the FE list. Normally my husband does the gifts for the adults and I do the gifts for the kids. If there are changes or upgrades at time of boarding, we will most likely discuss at a pre-cruise meet on the ship (yet TBD)

Search FE on DISboards and you'll find some good ideas. Facebook also has a page for it as well.

Welcome !! We will have to ask you about excursions then. Tell us which ones you did last year !! Nat explains the Fish Extender below. It is just one gift for each person for the entire trip. So far we have 15 families signed up so that could easily mean 60 gifts. Some people make home made gifts and some do Dollar Store stuff. I thought it was really fun and you get some really neat stuff in return. Start from the beginning of this thread and I have the links to all of the thread on the Dis that explain everything and gives examples of gives, etc. Let us know what you decide, I will be happy to add you !!

If we add many more families we will split the list up so we don't have to make so many gifts as it gets expensive and it is hard for people that fly to transport gifts back and forth. So, if we get to 20 families, I will split the list and you will only have to give gifts for people on your list.

We had a good time !!! It did cool off some and had to bundle up a little, but it was fine. It was crazy crowded for January, though !!

We just booked our first cruise for this week (10 of us) after spending a week at the Wilderness Lodge! Does anyone know if they offer a traditional Thanksgiving dinner? It's not a big deal, but my parents were curious. :)

Welcome !! I just love the Wilderness Lodge !!

From what I understand there is a traditional Thanksgiving meal served. Not 100% sure, but based on previous comments, I would say that is true.

Thanks! :) We've never been on a Disney Cruise so this will be something new and fun I hope!

They did have a traditional Thankgiving meal as well as lobster I believe. The one thing they didn't have or we missed it, is cranberry sauce! ha ha

I go for the lobster and lava cake, but they do have a traditional turkey dinner. Maybe this year I will get one lobster and one turkey meal rather than two lobster dinners.

NOT me! It will be my 60th birthday on Thanksgiving Day & I was Soooo happy to find out that they still had lobster since it is Captains Gala night. I'm happy for my husband that they have the turkey because he likes having it on Thanksgiving, but give me the LOBSTER TAILS!!!!!!!
