Nov. 23-30, 2013 Seven Night Western on the Fantasy

Jumping into this thread-it has been surprisingly slow! Just got back from the 2 nite NY cruise to nowhere-way too short but we still had a great time.

We will be on this cruise-first time having Thanksgiving on the ship. It will be myself, my mom, DH, DS(14), DS (11), DS(9)-these are their ages at time of sailing.

The holiday decorations are so beautiful on the ship. They start putting them up mid November. Castaway will have decorations up as well. Great opportunities for Holiday cards.

Since the cruise is over a year away, it makes sense that it is moving slow. Action will pick up as we get closer , I believe.

It is nice to know that they will have Christmas decorations up and even at Castaway Cay !! So exciting !!

Our family took our first cruise ever in July - the two night "Cruise to Nowhere" on the Disney Magic. It was a trial run to see how we'd like cruising... Clearly it worked out for us as we're now booked on the Fantasy for this cruise!

We (DH, DS4 and DD8) would love to be part of the FE group and are looking forward to making this whole DCL thing a habit! :woohoo:

I was on that cruise in July. Welcome to the group. As you can tell from my signature-I'm already addicted. That 2 niter was just way too short. We did manage to squeeze in Brave and The Avengers and even Jackpot Bingo.

I know it's over a year away, but I thought the thread would have busier. I guess I've been on all the big cruises-Maiden Voyage, Hawaii and such that at one year out we had almost reached the 250 pg limit for a thread.

It will definitely pick up as we get closer.

My kids love the FE-they like coming back to the cabin and see what goodies await them!!

If you have any questions just ask.

Hello fellow cruisers! Woo Hoo, Mateys!!! pirate: My Daughter and I will be on this cruise, which will complete our 4th Disney cruise in 3 years, and 3rd in celebrating Thanksgiving with DCL! We look forward to meeting you onboard!!

Well, then I must ask, how is the Thanksgiving Day menu. I have been wondering. Since my oldest is in middle school now and my DH can't take off the end of the quarters since he's in sales now, this is about the only week we can do now. We don't like sailing over the summer....too hot!!

Looks like we're neighbors.

Welcome Thanksgiving Cruise Alumn. This will be our 4th Thanksgiving Cruise on DCL. Still a long way out, but have been counting down the days since we made our reservation.

Judy - As for the T-Day menu, you can choose standard holiday choices of roasted turkey and Virginia baked ham, but you also have other choices just like all the other nights.

I am so happy they have Thanksgiving Day menu. I am so excited about this cruise.

Alums, I would love to hear about any of your excursions. Any advice or suggestions would be most welcome and appreciated !!

Also, on our last cruise, we had a Facebook page exclusively for our cruise. It was a really fun way to get to know each other and get questions answered quickly. Even now we still post on that page and keep in touch. We called ourselves the Castaway Crew. I would love to start a FB group for our cruise. Can anyone come up with a good name ?? I'm bad at that kind of stuff.

Also, someone started a Fish Extender page on Facebook that has some really amazing photos and ideas.

Here is the link:

I hope this helps anyone with FE questions.

Now, more on excursions. Anyone done the Mayan Ruins ?? I would love to try this one.

I can't come up with a name for it but I think it would be a great idea for us to have a FB page. :)

Well, after some confusion with dates, my family will be joining this cruise as well! Myself, wifey, dd(5), and ds(5) will be here for Thanksgiving 2013!:banana:

We cruise in about 28 days coming up in October and will be booking this trip while onboard to get a little discount. This will be our 4th cruise, and the 3rd time we've done the western one. We've never done Costa Maya before, but the Caymans and Cozumel are pretty nice.

We definitely want in on the FE list as well! Kids loved doing it last time, and hopefully they will like it in October, so sign us up!

DH & I will be on this cruise. Just booked it while we were on the Fantasy in August 2012. Thursday on this cruise is not only Thanksgiving, but also my 60th Birthday.

Thursdays on a 7 night is Captain's night & Semi-formal night & they usually serve lobster tail that night. Since this is Thanksgiving does that mean no lobster:eek:? I hope not. I'm sure the original Pilgrims had lobster at their feast!

Hello all! Joining in for another Thanksgiving cruise. We seem to be doing them every other year. We were originally set for NYE this year but moved it to the Thanksgiving cruise because the price was much better. We really love sailing on Turkey day. I'm not ecstatic about the itinerary but we could just stop at CC and I'd be happy. I really want to check out the ship.

The lobster on Thanksgiving night is one of my favorite things about the Turkey day cruise. I always get a double order! And the lava cake for dessert is amazing! I try to have turkey for lunch to get my turkey fix.

Can't wait to see all of the familiar faces on this cruise! I am still loving and using my note pads you gave us on this past Thanksgiving's cruise.

Thanks! I am definitely looking forward to being back on board and seeing all the familiar turkeys. Unless things change, that will be our first cruise as Platinum. But DCL offered an amazing Florida resident rate this year for the Dream and we may be able to sneak in a trip before Thanksgiving, if they do it again in 2013.

Are you going on the Thanksgiving cruise this year? Right now, we are about every other year.

Hey guys !! I am sorry I haven't been around. I have been struggling with a pretty bad ankle injury and I am now recovery from surgery. I will get a Fish Extender List started and I can set up a Facebook Page if everyone really wants to to do it. I like the name Thanksgiving Fantasy 2013. Should we go with that ?? Let me know your thoughts !!
