We are trying to see about going to Disney for Thanksgiving- coming in the sunday before and leaving the Friday after- aka black friday. Are there every discounts or specials this week? and when do you think they would be out? Thanks!

That time is usually balcked out. We go for Thanksgiving and for free dining you usually have to check in by the Thursday or Friday before T-day.

PPs are right - discounts usually end the Friday before Thanksgiving week. If you book your stay starting that day, you can usually extend the discount through the entire trip. However, coming in on Sunday, you are unlikely to see any discounts available.

Free dining is the only chance that you will have to get a discount for the week. I think that room discounts are day by day, not by a check in date like free dining. Free dining can add up to a nice discount.

I called just to see if by chance there were any pins attached to my name and the CM was very nice but found nothing under either my name or my husband's name. I nicely said "Well I guess I'll just have to wait and see if they run any specials for the general public." hint hint wink wink...that was her cue to say that something is on the way. But she gave no indication about anything being released. Maybe they've cracked down on the CM's saying anything that even remotely gives people hope so rumors don't get out.

Maybe we should all call and see if any of the CM's drop hints I just called to see if I have a better PIN (nope) and I was going to ask (hint) if there were any general offers coming but the CM seemed pretty lost so I don't think I would have trusted any answer she would have given me.
In 2009 the Oct.-Dec. offer came on July 27th and last year the free dining deal came out July 6th so seeing as there are no set dates, I'm thinking Disney is waiting to see who else is going to take advantage of the PIN's that have been going out the last few weeks.
As sad as it is to say/think I'm wondering if they are going to wait until one of the other general discounts runs it's course. There are three deals on right now - two resort discounts and one free dining and none of them run out before August 13th.

so excited. Of course I am booked through travel agent so I couldn't apply it. I previously had a 35 percent off room only but by applying this I save another 300 or so. I called and had disney price it out for us. Can't wait to call travel agent in the morning.

I was wondering what level of resort you are staying at?

Maybe this will be the general public offer - free quick service dining regardless of the level of resort, so everyone will have to pay to upgrade if they want the dining plan

I did upgrade to regular dining. Dates available were 11-1 thru 11-18 and 11-26 thru 11-30. We are staying Nov 28th to Dec 3rd.

We have 3 Adults 2 children 9 and 11
We got a suite free quick service upgraded to dining plan 5 nights 6 days no water park or hopper.

2727.32. Better than the 3363.32 quoted in the beginning.

this is great news! thanks for sharing! We are going Nov. 26-Dec. 3--the past two years we have paid the extra fee to upgrade to the DP (got free QSDP)...hoping to do the same this year!

WOOOHOOO! Got Game On PIN in mail today and booked our trip! We are staying at AKL. I can't believe it. We weren't going to stay deluxe but decided it was worth it!
