Nov. 2011

We're planning a Nov 27 - Dec 3 2011 trip ... my mom and I have been talking about this since my older DS was born :-)

Haven't booked yet... still up in the air with WHERE ... I really want to stay at the Boardwalk or Beach/Yacht Club but not sure if we can swing it...

Anyone have any advice? 4 adults, 2 kids (6 & 3 at time of travel) ...

I'd love to stay at the Boardwalk!!! It would be expensive for us though, as we would have to get two rooms unless we wanted the deluxe CL suite ($$$).
Good luck!!

I looked at all the options for us just earlier today...we've stayed at Pop our last two trips and LOVE it. But I thought I should look at what's out there...if I did another resort, it would probably be CBR. We stayed at POFQ once and I thought it was boring and the food court was jammed all the time. ASMovies appeals to me, but the food court is so limited compared to Pop's. I looked at the deluxes...I just can't justify spending twice the money (Wilderness & AK) or more (Poly & Contemporary) for a waterslide. Our almost 8 year old sleeps with me and my 11 year old sleeps on an inflatable twin on the floor (let's hope Southwest never charges for luggage!). We are never in the room and we prefer quick service dining. So for us...it's probably another trip to Pop!

I'm subscribing too. We just returned yesterday and it just hurts to see that new ticker say 1 year, 3 weeks, etc. :( September was HOT though so I'm looking forward to the cooler temps in Nov/Dec.

We are a family of 5 so we usually stat at POR but this time we're planning on the Contemporary. I'm going to have to crunch numbers to see which discount I should be hoping for. :teacher:

We're looking to book our 1st trip to WDW for the week after Thanksgiving 2011.

I see some of you have already booked. Are they good about applying discounts that pop up after you've booked? Or is it better to wait until they come out to book the trip? Sorry my first time planning.

If there are rooms available at your resort for the discount (certain amount allocated for every deal) then they'll apply discounts if you call and ask them to. We're not going unless there's a deal - a good one, like free dining - so I won't book unless one comes out. Others book and then wait for the deal. I think the deals depend on how badly they need to fill the resorts, so I wait. The more empty rooms they have, the better the deals...I hope!

We are finalizing our plans for Nov 2011. We are staying offsite but I am going to run the numbers to make sure it will be worth it if free dining is offered.

Since these are Nov 2011 people - have any of you thought of putting together a Disney YES group for kids so you can get the discounted tickets. We are saving BIG BUCKS if I can get a group together during our Nov 9 - 21 stay. It is amazing how cheap Disney offers those tickets and you get a great educational program for the kids. I have attempted to start a thread on it twice but nobody commented so I was going to wait until Feb or March to try and get a group together. Since there are so many Nov people just wanted you to check it out. Not trying to hijack the thread just another way to save.:woohoo: I think our tickets for 10 day park hopper with water park and more option for 4 people were like $800 something if I can get a group together. Pretty cool.

I was thinking about trying to organize one, but with free dining don't you have to have the package?

We always do this. We've never had a problem switching a previously booked reservation to the newly announced discount/promotion. Just make sure you call as soon as the promotion is announced. I'm hoping for something good for that time frame!!

:surfweb: Not sure we can keep this thread on the first page for the next 13 months! Anyone else hoping free dining will be offered for the end of next year when the current deals through September 2011 expire on December 20th???

We're going with a YES group this year, and it saved us a lot of money. We prefer a room discount, and are actually planning to spend next Thanksgiving week at the Dolphin next year, so free dining is not a factor for us. I would love to be part of your group for next year - I have two kids that would participate! (Ages 9 and 6 next year)

Free Dinning would be wonderful!! Altho, we're staying at a value, so our deal wouldn't be quite as sweet, but still!!! It's less $$$$$!!

I booked earlier this week for our FIRST WDW stay :goodvibes Nov. 10 - 15. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for FD or a PIN, discount - something!!!

I can't WAIT! My DH is like "it's 13 months away - you need to chill" :rotfl:

I currently have free dining booked through Disney UK but if room discounts come out I think that would be a better deal for me.

We've stayed at Pop for the last two years - and will again in 2011. We love it! Free dining saves us $820 - our oldest of two will be 12 and on the adult dining plan. I just can't justify the prices at the deluxes. Staying at Pop means I can go for two one week long vacations for less than one week at a deluxe. ;)

HAHA...that's awesome that because of free dining you can take ANOTHER week!! My dad is taking me and my siblings and all our families with him and my mom. He finally sold my grandma's house and he said she'd be happy that he's using some of the money to take us all away! I already booked it for him, but if I can save him a little $$, that would be awesome!
