Hi Cyndi!
Yes, we wer on the pin cruise in May. It was our first event. We went on board, with me being the sole pin person, and came out with two...now I think my DH is more addicted than me!
First and foremost, we went on the cruise to enjoy the cruise and have a good time. The pins were second. Now, that didnt' mean that there weren't people there solely to do pins. There were. For example, we had early seating, which happened to coincide with the opening of Mickey's Mates (where you purchased the pins) There were SEVERAL people who opted to show up extrememly late for dinner. They all came rushing in just as our main course was being served....dressed for Tritons, wearing their lanyards. That's where I drew the line. We did not wear our lanyards to dinner, they were neatly placed in my handbag, until we left the dining room...I did have them with me at all times!
As far as the pin event aspect, it was our first event. We live in Chicago and don't 'make it to WDW very often, although, I see that changing!

Many of the "regulars" were disappointed in the "event". The only part that could be considered as such was the pin pursuit that had you going from different points in the ship to ge the map stamped. The pin releases were all done via RSP forms so there was no need to stand in line, if your name was pulled, you were guaranteed the merchandise. All in all, I had a WONDERful time. I can't wait for November...staying up til all hours trading in the lounges...what a blast! If you have any other questions, just let me know! Where is your cabin? Did you book with any of the groups, or with Disney direct?
