Nov 17, 2016 Magic Kingdom - closing at 4:30pm ??????

We are there that week. We are spending that entire day 9-4:30 at MK and hoping for low crowds. We have APs so we can hop, but I do see how some might be upset with the party dates and this early closing that week. There are four parties while we are there (we are going to one) plus this early closing. It does make it hard to plan.

2) ANY park closing for such will disappoint SOME guests.

They could just waive you through at the second park, they can tell on their iPads you were at MK. I think they would make more money at MK that day if people were allowed to go to a different park after 4:30 closing. Otherwise, it's going to be a ghost town.

I would be willing to bet there will be people at City Hall complaining and they will be accommodated.

Disney would be thrilled if closing MK at 4:30 p.m. convinced even a handful of guests to pick one of the other three parks that day. Disney is having serious issues getting guests to choose any park but MK these days.

I have no problem with MK closing early for this purpose. In fact, I'm hoping it makes for a less crowded day for us as we are going to the MK that day. However, just pointing out that with four parties at MK while we are there and this closing, I could see how some people might get annoyed especially if they aren't going to a party. I hope you have a fantastic evening. As a former CM myself, I know everyone there deserves it.

Why? They promise you admission to one park per day not a specific park. If you go to a park that is closing early that's your choice. They haven't forced you to go there and you could have chosen to go to a park that's open for the full day. It's no different than choosing to go to MK on a party night.

That's not true if you have a one day ticket. If you were unaware of the 4:30pm closing and were only there one day with a MK ticket my guess is you'd be pretty bummed.

But it's already listed that it will be closing..... So anyone planning ONE day at MK has the ability to research the hours. If you don't look up the hours, that's on you.

I never said it wasn't the responsibility of the person buying the ticket to check the hours. I was pointing out that what one person wrote to another wasn't completely accurate.

July hours haven't even been finalized. Still plenty of time to extend hours in November.

If you were unaware of the 4:30pm closing and were only there one day with a MK ticket my guess is you'd be pretty bummed.

1) Everyone gets a Times Guide.
2) Also, the hours are well posted before you enter the gate.
3) There should be no surprise.

That's all after you've already purchased the MK-specific ticket, arrived there, and committed to doing that park.

yes it is the cast party. it stinks for me as thats the only day we can do MK.

Why not just switch park days around, and go with the flow?

I'm stoked. I was bummed at first, but TP listed that day, that park, with really low crowd projections, so I'm taking advantage of it then (hopefully) hopping to AK for (hopefully) evening entertainment.

We have a wedding in Epcot the day before and on Friday we leave for Disney Dream. My daughter is only 3 so....she would probably enjoy MK more than the others.

Honestly I took my niece to WDW at 3 and what she liked the most was the hotel pool and playground. If you have hoppers, I'd enjoy MK then move over to AK for the petting zoo factor... I think you will still get a full day out of MK.

Not true. Times are also posted on the toll booths outside MK. You could choose to turn around at that point.

Does anyone know if there will be a fireworks show during the CM party (Wishes or something special)? We will be hanging out at the MK-area hotels that evening and will plan on watching if there is. I tried booking the Pirates and Pals Fireworks cruise and it looks like it's not offered that night, so that might be an indication...

For what it's worth, we are at WDW for a 6-night trip and MK is closing early for 4 of those nights (3 for the MVMCP and 1 for the CM party). And neither of the 2 remaining nights are EMH, so the park is closing at 8pm and 9pm respectively. Not that we need to be there until midnight, but when it's your favorite park, you're paying to stay at an MK resort, and you book your trip nearly a year in advance, it does feel like a bummer.
