Nov 1-6 ????

I got an e-mail for a really good airfare and my son is out of school on Nov 3rd and 4th, so I naturally thought about a trip to DL!!!
When I looked at hotels, however, many are booked on Thurs, Fri, and Sat. Does anyone know if there is something going on that would affect crowds? I don't want to spend the money if it's going to be packed. I'd just wait until Jan or Feb when we were originally planning on going. But if I can squeeze another trip !!!!!

We are also going that week! I think hotels are booking up because of the 50th anniversary. We got a good deal at Desert Inn and Suites across the street from DL- we also have a large family and needed more beds per room and they have that. I haven't seen where there is anything going on during this time except the Halloween party and that is before your dates. I'm hoping for small crowds esp. during the week.

We originally tried to book the DLH for some of those dates (Nov 2-5 I think) and it was already booked solid, so when I asked someone posted that the National Red Hat Ladies convention is taking place during that time. I doubt that would affect offsite hotels though, but I know that is why the midweek DLH was booked out. So we booked from Nov 5-9. I checked yesterday just to see if the rates had dropped (LOL!) and not only had the rates not dropped but all the Disney hotels were sold out, so I think that it IS because of the 50th that it's staying a bit busier during seemingly "off" times...

Not that it matters too much, but I'll be there during those dates. Does anyone know what the National Red Hat convention is? Will the participants go to the parks too? Just wondering.

I assume they wear red hats (and apparently gloves)! They sound like perfect Disneyland attendees. They will be at Disneyland on Saturday November 5 from 10-6, and there are lots of other activities throughout their days mostly at the hotels. I can't imagine they will be deterring from anyone's enjoyment of the park, it's a Saturday after all so will be busy anyway.

Well, November 6 is my sister's birthday, so we'll probably go on that day. I'm putting in for it at work. Hopefully, I'll get that day off.
