Anyone else watching for the fuel surcharge. I guess we'll know on Thursday. It's just under $70 a barrel today. UGH.
I will keep my fingers crossed and hope it can stay under $70 for all of us that are hoping for OBC.
I contacted my travel agent about the OBC and she called DCL and they told her they already credited me with an OBC for the fuel surcharge:woohoo:. Anyone who paid it may have already been credited also:yay:.

I just called Disneycruise and the credit hasn't been issued to my account. Will have to wait til Thursday. It did drop this morning to $68.63. YAY!!!

EyesForMickey, when you see the oil Cost tomorrow, can you post it here? I don't know where the site is that DCL uses, but am also anxious to know the final amount for our 1/4.

Sure right now it's at $70.83, it seems to fluctuate throughout the day. Yesterday morning it was just under 70 and by late afternoon it is 70.83.
Here's the link for the disboard thread.

Bummer, it closed at 72.something. Lets hope it drops a lot before close tomorrow! It Doesn't make sense though that people who booked this past spring never had to pay the surcharge in the first place. We booked last fall and paid it. Then sometime early in the new Year I noticed a price difference of $150.00. I called my TA and she investigated and then told me that that was the fuel surcharge and I would be refunded that in the form of an OBC. Based on the way she told me, I would think that we are still getting that onboard credit. People who booked AFTER the fuel surcharge amount was taken off the cruise prices, don't have to pay UP, so I don't understand why I wouldn't still have that OBC waiting for me. I will contact my TA and have her check and I'll let you all know what she says.

It doesn't seem fair that we are being charged extra for booking early. We really should get the OBC, it just doesn't seem right what they're doing.
Please let me know what happens when you call your TA.

Thanks!

When did you guys book? I booked 5/08 and wasn't charged it. I asked my DU agent because I didn't know if I was charged it or not and she said I booked before it was being charged.

I was just thinking I should know my room assignment soon :cool1: a lot of people are finding out at 36 days lately. Maybe I'll know for my birthday on the 24th. All my kids are getting sick, at least they are getting it out of their system now. They actually tested Ashley for mono on Monday because she was so sick. It was negative thank goodness. She had the same thing last year at the same time and they tested for it then too. I just think her allergies are so bad that it makes her so sick every time the seasons change. I'm hoping I can avoid turning the heat on before our trip because that's when everyone really starts getting sick. We're getting so close!!! My oldest baby is 16 today, I can't believe it. For her present she gets to go get her flu shot, I'm a mean mommy ain't I. I feel bad but I had no choice because her docs office always runs out of the shots so I had to get them in at the first appointment.

Well I got an email back from my TA today. We booked our trip last September or early October. My TA said the way DCL works it, they determine weather or not you will pay a fuel surcharge based on the price of oil for THAT quarter that you book it in. SO, Oil was up last September (just before the markets crashed), and thus we paid the charge. Disneynewbee, you booked during a quarter when the price was down, thus you did not have to pay. Here's where I feel DCL gets UNFAIR,,,,, Once you come to your actual trip quarter (today for our cruise), If the cost of oil is below $70.00 those who paid the surcharge will get an OBC for that amount. If the cost is 70 or above, those who paid, will NOT get an OBC, and there is not additional cost for those who did not pay it in the first place. BUMMER!

BUT, at least the amount is not astronomical. For our family of 6, we paid a total surcharge of $150.00. That would have been a nice OBC, would have helped towards an excursion, but if oil prices today stay up, it's not a HUGE loss at least. Not going to let it get me down, I'm too excited about this trip to give it more than a moments gripe!:)

I've started making my pirate costumes, that wil keep me busy today, plus housecleaning for a meeting I'm hosting here this afternoon. I made a TO DO List for must have dones before we leave in less than 6 weeks, and amazingly, I already have a number of things crossed off on that list! WOO HOO!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for prices to stay below 70 tonight for those of you that paid.

Happy Birthday Ashley! :bday: party:

So is anyone else plannning, like me, to be at the port for opening time (10:00 am)?
It's gotten chilly here the past couple of days, still hoping for an Indian Summer, but none the less, I've started throwing the shorts and T-Shirts into the suitcase.
Had a friend over last night, and she helped me make DH's Pirate Shirt. I just have to add the sleeves today, sew down the sides and Voila, ONE down, 5 MORE TO GO:scared1:
We LEAVE in 5 weeks and 2 days!
Oh, and had the Meet the Teacher night for my 7th Grade Guy. I mentioned to his homeroom teacher that we are leaving Oct 26th for a two week family vacation and asked her how she recommends I notify all the other teachers.
She thought it was very exciting, and said, "in a few more weeks send in a note telling everyone, and IF you want him to take work with him, state that in the note and say when you would like that packet ready for"! Awesome!

I wanted to get there at 10 but couldn't find a company that wanted to pick us up to get us there by then. Finally the 3rd company I contacted agreed to pick us up at 9am so we'll be there shortly after 10. I'm not sure how long it takes exactly to get from POP to the port.
I still haven't sent my trip form in yet for the kids I need to write that up this wk. We have to give them our itinerary and explain how it is educational:rotfl:
I sat yesterday trying to figure out our schedule for Sea World so we could make sure to get to everything we really want in. I think it's pretty much impossible to do that park in one day if you want to see all the shows and do the rides. I also need plenty of time with the stingrays and dolphins since the stingrays were the highlight of our trip last time. Not to mention we are going on Halloween and they have special stuff for that too. I don't think it's possible to do everything I wanted so now I have to start rethinking things.
Ashley is having her friends party today for her birthday so me and dh and the kids are heading out and my mom will come over and chaperone. While we are out we'll pick up Marinah's halloween costume and probably one for Delaney since the minnie we had is too big for her. We got Jules the other day and she's going to be the queen of hearts. We also need to pick up a pirate costume for Jules yet. $$$$

We're planning to get at the cruise terminal at 10. Only 42 days more to go. I just filled out all of the online forms. Now just waiting for room assignment.

We are being picked up at 10:30 from the Animal Kingdom. Does anyone know what time the buses arrive? I just want to make sure that we get in before the buses. I think it took 45 minutes to get there from the airport but, i'm not positive.

When we were there 3 years ago, the bus picked us up in AK at either 12pm or 12:30pm. Map quest indicates an hour from WDW to PC. We were originally going to go to Chef Mickey's for breakfast that morning, then head off to PC, but have now changed plans since we'll have a really late night at MNSSHP party the night before. We are doing CM a few mornings before.

I finished up DH's Pirate shirt today! It looks awesome! Tried cutting out the vest pieces, but the fabric is too slippery, so I'll wait till my friend is over tomorrow, she'll help me with that, and I'll have it all sewn by tomorrow night, then on to DS!'s Costume.
Only 36 more sleeps!
