LOL, and we did the opposite. We originally booked two 12 GTY's because they cost the least and I too sleep easier in the pitch black dark. But after a few months of thinking about it some more and this was last winter when I had to get up at 6 am and it was still dark outside, I realized it's SO hard to get up in the dark for me! Man oh man can I sleep when it's dark, BUT on the cruise, I don't want to be sleeping in! If I have some morning light, it's much easier for me to wake up. So I checked on line and found that the exact same connecting rooms we had on our first cruise were available. So I called our TA, and had her snag those ones for us. We had paid for ground transfers that I didn't know we had. We didn't need them, so once the cost of those were applied to our new rooms, I only owed $268.00 more. I think though that if we cruise again in the future, we'll probably go for the 12's just to try them at least once.
On another note, how's everyone's kids health been since starting back to school? Last night my 12 year old had a massive headache, then vomited in the middle of the evening. No fever though. I kept him home from school today, he was feeling week and a little dizzy, but no more vomiting and still no fever. I think I'll keep him home tomorrow, just to make it 48 hours with no big issues. Tonight though while tucking my 6yr old into bed, he started to complain that HIS head really hurt. I put our "B" Bucket on the corner of his bed for him. I'm hoping he doesn't wake up in the middle of the night doing what DS12 did last night. At least if whatever is going around happens now, they can't possibly get sick around our vacation time,? Right?
