Noticed some new people (or low post counts) WELCOME!

Just doing a little morning surfing before I go to my crop at 10 and noticed some post and saw they had a low count and I just wanted if you are new to the boards welcome.....and if you are a lurker and now joining in HI Then of course I took a look at the first page and was surprised how many new people are here! If I missed anyone chime in!

Thank you Spinning for the warm welcome. I have been a DIS-er for some time BUT have just recently found the scrapping group (just never paid attention). Anyway, I am SOOOOO excited to have found you all.

I have been scrapbooking my whole life really - always kept photo journals, but with the birth of my son in 1998 I really started SCRAPBOOKING! We are planning our FIRST Diney trip for this November and now that I have all the details planned wth the help of DISboard, it is time to plan the scrapbook! I appreciate all tips and ideas!

I would love to learn more about the swaps and what is an SS? How can I get involved? I am new to embellishments (except stickers and die-cuts, of course), so would also like to learn more about those! Thanks! :

Welcome, you won't find a better place to hang out. SS stands for Secret Sister ( or Scrapbook Sister , because we exchange scrapbook stuff with a group of wonderful ladies here on the boards ). We do it for about three months ( we are in the middle of one now ). Our host PattyT sends out a questionnaire ( excuse sp ) and we fill it out and then our names are divided up and she sends us a SS to swap with. Our swaps are hosted by several different ladies here, we make or buy scrap items ( enough for who has signed up ) and then send them to our hostess ( along with postage and an envelope ) by a certain due date, she then sends them out to each participant. It's been a lot of fun seeing how different people make tags, titles, borders , etc. Right now our swaps and SS swap is closed and the ladies are in the middle of making and sending out stuff. Keep looking though I am sure a new swap or SS swap will come along soon ( probably the first of the year ). Once again welcome , and look forward to seeing you back.
