Actually, it was only last week. Rash didn't change the word 'til after I left for the weekend, so it was all I had.

My apologies, you are of course correct and it was not my intention to offend. A better choice of words would be "so 5 minutes ago". The best choice would of course have been keeping quiet (I did say I had a big mouth!).

Two apologies in one afternoon - ouch. I will quit now while I am behind (and before this hole gets any bigger...).

Puppy? PUPPY? My DD has been relentlessly working on me for a puppy since my family returned from my inlaws last week. She put you up to this, didn't she, Rash?

lol Spoken like a truly wrapped around a little girl's finger Dad. :p

Just be glad its a puppy, Toon. My boys want an elephant and if we can't have one of those, can't we get Herbie? (he gets cut in half you know during the stunt show as my 3 year old reminds me every time we see a VW Bug now lol)

Mike in FL (and others here) - Please forgive me for being grumpy yesterday. Let's just say lack of sleep, lack of DIS time, and the fall of hanname had me out of sorts. I wanted some goofy time and there was serious discussion going on here. Yikes! ;) Please forgive my need for an attitude adjustment. :sad2:

Back to the current topic,

Toon! I second Rash's opinion on a girl's need for a puppy. FYI - What daddy isn't wrapped around his little girl's finger? I'll have to remind my dad how lucky he is that I didn't ask for a puppy as a child. I had a paper route, though (well, I was an indentured servant for my brother's route), and that kind of instilled a fear of dogs.

OK. Who's got my ice cream sandwich? :wizard:

Goooooooooooooooooooddddddddddd Morninggggggggggggggggg DISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
(trying to wake up...did that work for anyone else? :tilt: )

*smiling at Rash* love a man that can admit to being wrapped by his daughter! *rubbing your head* you are a good horsey

Me...I would never be that mother whose sons have her tied up in knots :rolleyes1 nope - nuh uh...just ask hubby...WAIT - don't ask him :smooth:

lllovell, you're the best!! Just what I needed!

Good thing you don't spoil those boys! ;)

lol yeah - good thing ;)

I am going to ask a foolish question now, but are you running in the marathon in 2006? Or wanting to be there?

I had big plans for this year, signed up for the AVON 3 day walk here in Atlanta in October, running the 1/2 marathon in January and then....well - my clock was SCREAMING at me about having another baby or giving away the baby stuff and turning the nursery into an office. You see what won :p

So, hopefully next year!

I am *ahem* running it. First time. Inspired by the foks on the WISH board. Dh and I ran in hs and dh always wanted to run a marathon. I swore I'd never run again (coach and many teammates were prima donnas). Well, running through WDW a dn gettigna Mickey medal is about the only thing in the world that could inspire me to run again. We've been training since March. We's like to run the whole way and I *think* we can do it, but for now we just want to finish. My dh says he doesn't care how we get there, but he's running over the finish line. So, in *yikes* less than 6 months, we are doing it! So, it sounds like you were in pretty good shape before pregnancy. Hopefully, you can do it next year. I highly recommend the WISH marathon threads for support. They are awesome! There are people who have done at least 3 amrathons, people who have done countless halves, people like me who used to do 5Ks, and people who never walked further than teh far parking spot at the mall before this year. It's an awesome combination and very inspiring. (Sorry, rambling again) It's the withdrawl from only having quick spurts of DIS the last week.

Mike - I think Rash can set you up with some good counseling! ;)

Yeah for YOU!!! That will be so much fun (except the getting up at 2:30 in the morning to get to the park to run lol). I wasn't in the best shape so it was going to be a struggle, but working towards the 60 mile 3-day walk and cross training with running, I was really excited about. Of course, I wouldn't trade this for the world right now :) , so I am hoping to set my sights on 2007!

(its making me crazy that I get terrible sciatica pains with this baby and the cyst we discovered after getting pregnant that is grapefruit sized. I had to stop almost all physical activity and even now go to bed sometimes at night whimpering everytime I move because of it. Just a quick trip to the grocery store can leave me aching - and sitting on the sidelines and whimpering is NOT my style! So, hopefully, as soon as she gets here and I get that cyst out - I will be back in business! {not whining...just frustrating that the only physical activity I can do with my boys right now is swim...they are so active and I miss it!})

That is a bummer! (Hugely understated). Do they think the cyst might go away after pregnancy? I have a friend who has had terrible cyst problems and they tend to come and go with pregnancy. I hope things improve. :wizard:

I succumbed to the puppy and no my little girl is hardly wrapping me around that little finger (the whole arm, tightly, yes, but not the pinkie!)
I must say it is not the brightest animal in the world. It routinely sits under the glass table and bangs its head as it leaps to try to eat something it sees through the glass. If I could only get it on tape AFV would be flying us to all the parks and forking over that $100k grand prize.

So, that little furball may actually pay for my retirement, or at least a new washer (gave up on the ice maker.)

You could join Rash's cabinet as Secretary of Curbing or something.

Get the puppy, just don't name it hanname..(oops a feel a flame)

Pets are so much fun, especially when they do crazy things like that. One of my cats loves to watch me play Snood. She trys desperately to "catch" them, as well as to "catch" the pointer the game uses. She paws and bites at my computer screen, it's so funny to watch. I wish I knew if she "knows" she can't really catch anything and she is just having fun, or if she thinks one day she'll actually capture something.

BTW a couple of you mentioned being bummed by the demise of Hanname. If you haven't been to the hanname thread in a day or so it's worth checking it out. Hanname herself has given her blessing to the word, even has a pic of herself captioned "The Original Hanname", it's great!

So sorry about the cyst lllovell, I hope the pain doesn't get any worse and you feel better soon! :sunny:

nope - its solid so its going to take surgery. The good news is it hasn't grown since we found it and bad things grow and they are checking it regularly, so I get lots of ultrasounds :) If I have a c-section ( :headache: ), they will take it then. If not, I will have surgery not long after she comes. Its all gonna be good though and then I will start moving again :teeth:

Thanks for the concern everyone and its all good! I just sit on my ever growing butt and then no pain lol So the weekends are the worst, when normal life gets me moving more, but I wouldn't trade a summer of fun for no pain!

lol @ the puppy!!! What kind did you get? (I have a cat that will chase a flashlight beam until its panting for breath, so I do understand silly pet tricks and love them!) I am glad you got her a puppy TW1. All good little ones need animals to love and cherish. :cloud9:

Patti (the original Hannamae) rocks!!! :cheer2: She has a great sense of humor and I agree Mar, its fun having her here now with us!

I know Patti (Hanname) is awesome and she's having fun with it. It just really has saddened me that her daughter has taken it all wrong. I feel funny using the term now. :guilty: I think the saddest part is that when I posted on the Hanname thread yesterday, I really just wanted to say "Hanname!" and make it all right. :confused3 Maybe it's the funk I'm in. I have one more rough week ahead of me and then I'm on vacation (hopefully). I REALLY need it. Wish it was to WDW, but we're just doing a little in-State camping tour. It should be more relaxing than our typical WDW vacation, though.:)

FYI - Thanks for your compliment on the Hanname thread yesterday, Mar'. I had a hard time writing it and felt like I rambled all over the place.

Oh, my cats have been known to try to get our dinner through the underside of the glass coffee table. It's even funnier to watch them go racing round the corner towards the basement stairs and not realize that someone has the panty door open. WHOMP! (No animals have been injured during these events, and it's not something that's ever done on purpose. Please don't report me to PITA.)

Hey Toon! I think I need some Bad Poet today!!! Pretty please????

I think you need it too after the sappy Hanname post you just left! ;)

(Don't tell anyone I said this, but that was really a very nice post. It did a much better job of expressing what I felt than my own post!)

My day is looking up....

I just got an e-mail for a conference in Costa Mesa, CA 4 days before my b-day. No, I won't get to go, but I'd love to see the look on my boss' face when he opens the forwarded e-mai lthat starts with "Looking for a birthday present for me?" :rotfl:

OK, why would you go all the way from MI to CA for a 1 day conference!
