Back from a GREAT Disney Trip!
I have not had time to read all the posts over the last 10 days yet, but I real sorry your mailman was a creeper 'Mar!
This will be a brief trip report (I'm not brave enough to go down that road again!)
Went to OKW 2BR for oldest kid's Karate Contest. My son placed 2nd in the nationals beating other kids who were older, bigger and 2 belts more advanced! One Proud Papa here! You should see the trophy!
Once again drove down, left 10PM on 7/1/05, loaded kids, luggage and DW into Caravan, and picked up the MIL

.
Made great time got onto Route I-4 arround 5 PM. Since we had no trouble finding rooms on our last trip, I didn't make reservations in advance for our first night.......
......
Did someone say July 4th Holiday? Did someone say NASCAR at Daytona? Did someone say no rooms in Orlando.....
Why didn't someone say those things?
We stopped at a Hampton Inn (or something close) in Deltona, but all they had were a couple of King Bed Rooms left for $199.00 each!
Drove to the Best Western, only had the Honeymoon Suite Available. They called the other BWs and they were all sold out!
.....
Yep,
.....
You Guessed it.......
.....
Six in the Honeymoon Suite please. After all this is Best Western, where kids sleep free. Um, do ya'all have any roll away beds, I'd like three please....
Now to tell the wife.......
"Honey Good News......" Remainder of this paragraph deleted for my protection.
Anyway, they have a restaurant called Harry's which has very, very good Prime Rib at fair prices! Their normal Friday room rate is $74.00, so I was thrilled to pay $269.00 for the hooneymoon suite, three roll aways, and Florida's obsene taxes. (Yes I did carry my bride over the threshold!)
Arrived at OKW around 1 PM. We had never seen it, really liked the outside appearance. OUR ROOM IS READY!!!!!! What?!? No Way! Yes Way!!!
A lovely 2 BR in building 13. All my requests met. Non-Smoking, Non-Accessable, Near the Hospitality House.
It was missing a shelf peg in a closet, the master shower head was broken, no dishwasher soap, if the dishwasher was closed the cabinet next to it couldn't be opened, and a light was burned out in the second bathroom, and the quality of the 'cleaning' of the room was a 'C'. One call to maintenance, one call for two extra towel packs, one call to housekeeping for dishwasher soap, ran the dishes throught the dishwasher, and half an hour of cleaning, and everything was perfect.
We really loved OKW and the size of the rooms, and we all enjoyed the new slide which really moves. I feel it is a much more kid friendly resort than BWV which we stayed at last time. <----- Not a knock, my DW and I enjoyed BWV, just not that much for kids to do on the BW its self!
We saw Pleasure Island fireworks from our balconey (humongous compared to BWV), and really enjoyed the July 4th fireworks, amazing!
We lucked out, it rained much of the week before our arrival on 07/03/2005, and was storming when we left, because of Dennis I believe.
Yes it was hot, 106 I think, and it was humid, and boy was it crowded (especially on the 4th) but the July 4th fireworks at MK were worth it.
Judicious use of FastPass, Parent Switch made optimum use of our time. I bought the kids and DW PAPs and would go alone in the morning to the park of the day, find a friendly CM at the park entrance and run all of the tickets through. Then I spent 3-4 hours loading up on FastPasses, and returned in the early evenings with the family to use them.
On our last night 07/09/2005, after the tournement, we entered the MK after a major rain storm. We ate at Tony's (no PS just a 20 minute wait for a party of 6) Loved the cookies & cream smoothie BTW!
We walked onto every ride with no more than a 5 minute wait with the exception of Peter Pan, which had a 30 minute wait, so we fast passed it.
Even walked on to Buzz Light Year twice, and Stitch with NO WAIT.
BTW, as reviewed elsewhere, Stitch stinks, cetainly not worth a 5 minute wait, or a FastPass. Of course YMMV, jMHO!
We had a magical time:
For a year I have been unable to get the pirates cruise for my son. On the afternoon of 07/01/2005 (before departure), I got one seat for 07/07/2005. I also sucessfully moved CRT ressies for 6 from 07/09/2005 to 07/06/2005.
We had the Disney Girl High Princess Tea for DW, MIL, and my 2 girls. They loved it, but lost all the still pictures they took

!
We had the lunch at CRT, and had the most amazing waiter David. What a good time we all had! Highly, highly recommend, we will do this again!
Saw La Nouba (Circue Du Solei) Family loved it, I gave it a B. I have seen Mystere and O and preferred them both. Again YMMV!
Ate at Foulton's Crab House, way over rated, and very expensive. Lovely settings. Will not do again.
Ate at Le Celliar, liked the food and setting, forgot to use my DDE, I could have recovered the entire cost with that meal! Bummer!
The day of the pirate cruise, one little girl freaked out, wouldn't wear the life preserver, so I got a second opening, and my little girl first said she'd go, then wimped out, so I sent my sophisticated 12 year old.
My son said he liked it, my DD said, "Its a must don't!" She also said my 9 year old DS was also underwhelmed, but wouldn't tell me since I was so excited I got him the tickets. When I pressed this later on, he admitted it was true! So the pirate cruise may really be more suited for 4-7 year olds!
Also got the front seat on the Monorail for me and all 3 kids! We all got co-pilot licenses (my second!) Our driver was not the nicest, so I explained the system to my kids. There are 12 monorails, these are the mark 6, maintenance shed can hold 10 trains, the siginals mean.....
The drive home was uneventful, except for the power steering failing without warning for 1 minute on 95 while I was appraoching 80MPH. Steering came back, and has been good for the last 1,000 miles. Belt is good, fluid is good, Just more Dodge evil I guess.
Anyway, going back for a week in December to WLV, a 'dream' of mine.

Ooops almost forgot.....
I caught a baby lizard in our room, and DD caught the most adorable Eastern Toad, about 2 inches long, while returning at midnight to our rooms. He has a cute smile, and a deeply blue colored neck. (Our Texas Red Necked Toad at home 'Red Neck' is his name, inspired our new toad's nickname of Blue Neck, or formal full name of Spotted Pisser Blue Necked Toad. We released Blue Neck and the nameless Baby lizard 2 days later.
Upon our return, all cats, frogs, fish and tadpoles were glad to see us and doing well, except for one missing tadpole, who probably transformed into a frog and hopped to freedom (or dehydration) in our house. The search continues.......
