Oh, aarrgghhh! I'm with you, didn't really want to move!

But, oh well, we'll still find it. Hey, went to the Renaissance Fair here today, pretty crazy, but beautiful weather, and a good day for the girls to be called "princess" all day long. Worst thing was when we got as far from our car as possible (why is that always what happens, I'd like to know? Never when you're actually NEXT to the car) the wheel falls off the stroller. Double aarrgghhh! And the weird think was that I had just thought on the way in that I wondered if that stroller would last through this child. Hmmmm.

Gopherit - You ROCK!!! That song is the way to start my sort-of Monday!!!! That's what I would have liked to have done when I posted fro Laura, but went beyond my wildest dreams. Very much describes our little world.

Seeing as our world has changed, maybe we should have an encore for any new potential contributers?

FYI - I prefer brown sugar cinnamon Pop Tarts. WIll eat any that are not fuit. Just can't do it. Prefer toased, but have bee too lazy to get eh toater outas of late. How sad is that?

Coffee's brewing. Pop Tarts for all. I'll even upt out the toaster and the fruit flavors. (I'm so accomodating. )

Hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was good. Spent time with my niece and 2 of my 4 nephews. Niece actually went shopping with us and did very well and had a good time diong girl stuff. At 8, that's stil not always fun for them. Very nice time. Oh, and big ego boost when my oldest nephew (6) had to play his Gameboy on my lap Friday night. I was very honored. The little one (3) just cracked me up by teh way he said Aunt Carrie. He has some speech issues, but that came through loud and clear. He looks like a Little Green Man (minus the extra eye) and is the cutest thing in the world. Yup. Very good time.

Rash - Hope you're doing ok. Just remebered, my nice was cranky because she was gettign too much iron from mama. SIL cut out some of the iron and things were much better. May be worth looking into.

When was the DVC community board removed and why/ (edited to say OK I figured it out and I am NOT happy)

It's more of a name change, but feels like a removal. It's now DVC Planning Board for planning DVC trips. Looks like it happened this weekend. There's a Sticky at the top of teh "new" board.

This sucks plain and simple. I am depressed enough about New Orleans and our friends there, now this happens. I am probably over reacting but I feel like crying.

They moved the closet!

Took a while to find y’all but I’m glad I did.

Yeah, back to work today and back on the boards since our magical vaca started way back on 8/20.

Just scanned the last 20 pages looking mainly for news about Toon and our other friends in the bayou. Glad to hear he is safe, though having so far to go to get his life back together.

Makes me think how the anonymity of the web can backfire sometimes. Here’s a case where you want to reach out and help someone and you realize you really don’t know how.

Vacation was a too much fun – drove from Philly to WDW – 5 days in BCV, then on to VB for 2 days then to our happy place – HHI for 5 more days. This was our big splurge to celebrate our 15th anniversary. My surprise for DW was the Illuminations cruise to see the Epcot fireworks. That was a fabulous experience. DW was thrilled. We shared a boat with another Dis-er, Kathleena, who brought along her granddaughter who was celebrating a birthday. Kathleena and I arranged the trip over the summer and she knew it was our anniv. So Kathleena very kindly ordered a delicious, even decadent cake and had Happy Everything written on it and shared it with us. A wonderful gesture that helped make the boat ride that much more memorable. Did the Members Party on PI – what a hoot! Loved Soarin’. No great crowds at the World, lots of fast passes (yes we are commando park visitors) BCV was perfect – sorry, no horror stories about overflowing toilets or stained carpets or rude cast members. VB was interesting, may not go back for a while, but a pleasant diversion. HHI is our favorite, so no complaints – just a very biased two thumbs up. Reading Gopherits trip report from HHI was fun. We were there a week later and it was very quiet, though lots to do and hard to leave.

All in all trip was outstanding. We tend not to watch the news or read the papers on vacation so Katrina took us by surprise. Didn’t know much about it until we overheard people talking. Needless to say we became glued to the tube at night watching the horror.

Anyway, its back to work today, kids start school tomorrow. Hundreds of emails to read, stacks of mail to open, need a haircut, must stop to restock the Yuengling dispenser – err Fridge, on the way home and will definitely need some closet time later this week.

At least it’s Tuesday!

Welcome back TW1! I know, it's not as good to hear as Welcome Home, but I am very glad that yu had a nice vacation. Very glad that you found us over here!

Just to re-vent, how come the VMK Board got to keep "Off-topic Randomness...A Place to Ramble"? Yes, I posted this in the thread regarding the cahnges on the DVC PB.

I don't like to complain, as it's a private board and I am not a trouble maker, except with my in-laws. That one really kind of peeved me, though. Especially, since it was started by a former DVC CBer. It has the same intentions.

Rash - I really like the comparison of being at the local bar talking with your friends and then being thrown into teh black Friday shopping crowd.

Nothing against the folks over here, but not the same intimacy. For the most part, they do not know us and we do not know them, so what did the move accomplish?

So did they want to bring us back to our school days traumas? It's teh first day at a new school, will our new friends like us? MAybe it's just a September Fools Day joke?

OK, happy thought. Let's cheer everyone up, sounds like Mar' could use some extra Nothing today....

Thanks Carrie. I am not very good with changes, especially changes for the worse. When the mods added the DVC community board it was supposedly because we were such a large and active group that we merited our own board. The claim that the new board is just a new name is hogwash. The nothing thread would still be there if that was the truth. And your remark that the VMK board is still allowed a "ramble" thread makes me even madder (not at you of course, at the mods). I know me, and when I feel like this I usually say something I will regret, so I am trying to say as little as possible. I don't stay down long, I'm sure I'll cheer up and be back to my old self soon enough, and be more than happy to discuss DLP other fun stuff. I really appreciate you reaching out Carrie. I think I'll do some scrapping tonight, that ought to help me feel a little better.

Scrapping is wonderful therapy! Hope you're feeling better soon! Probably safe not to say something you'll regret. I am afraid if I complain too much, I'll get banned. As unhappy as I am with teh change, I'd rather not get banned.

This doesn't feel like a minor change to me. (I am not even really comfortable with my more personal ramblings out here in the big world).

I am going to send a message to pete explaining my unhappiness and honestly, it feels like we are a bit homeless (and really a good bit of this thread IS about DVC....enough that we should not have been moved.)

Hope other than this bit of trauma, everyone is doing ok after the long weekend. (I just realized I don't even know how to subscribe to a thread).

Laura - Glad you found us! I have my settigns so that I am subscribed to a thread as soon as I post on it. You can subscribe at the top of teh thread where it says Thread Tools. Then subscribe is an options, then you can set ti to send you e-mail notifications when someone posts. That link will breing you to where ever the thread may reside at that point in time.

I'm hoping they will put us back where we belong. If they just decide to move teh parallel VMK thread to teh CB to make it fair, heaven hlep me am I going to make some enemies.
