Nothing available for Thanksgiving weekend?

Was thinking of a last minute long Thanksgiving weekend.....is there really NOTHING available? I do realize that getting a fall offer at this point is not possible but didn't expect for everything at regular rates to be gone. Was hoping for a value at regular rates. Or will they show up after the room offer expires tonight?

Whatever is currently available would be showing in the discount and non-discount inventory right now. Inventory fluctuates constantly. Are there any mods available with the current discount? If it were me, I would book the cheapest mod, room-only, with the fall discount (if available), today to lock in the price before the offer expires. You have up until 5 days prior to check-in to cancel, so you could keep checking to see if a value becomes available and would offer you a better price over the mod at a discount. Rack rates are pretty high over Thanksgiving, so, chances are, a mod at a discount wouldn't be much more than a value at rack rate.

What I've noticed over the last month or so is the room search defaults to the Fall offer. Don't know if that is just me or happening for everyone.
In order to see availability at all rates, you need to click on one of the results, change it to just Room, then click on Change and switch the drop-down resort selector to All Resorts. Then you will get everything available.
I just did a search for Nov 28-Dec 1, got 2 results. Clicked on one of them, did the process I described above, then got a lot more availability. Cheapest was AoA for $215/night.

I have a reservation for Nov 23-28 at POFQ (rack rate). In general, Disney rooms for Thanksgiving week have been rapidly vanishing starting about Sep 15 or so. I had been considering a preferred or tower room at Coronado using the Fall offer, but I spent too long in the planning and analysis phase and all of a sudden rooms started disappearing on me, so FQ became the best bang for my buck. (Plus, I like FQ...)

As another aside, Undercover Tourist Disney resort inventory for Thanksgiving week went completely sold out a week or so ago.

Rooms are held/allocated to various vendors and conferences/groups hold sets of room for specific dates and are released at a specific date. Other times dates, rooms packages an special offering are sold out. Its hard to determine whats is going on using public accessed system. Consult with a certified Diseny Vacation travel to see whats really going on when close to your travel date.

Other than being able to see AP rates without personally owning an AP, TA's are seeing the same thing through the Disney Travel Agent site that the general consumer is seeing through the WDW site. TA's have no access to what is being held in the wholesale or group inventory unless their own agency has a contract for a group booking - then they only know their own agency inventory.

So I guess a question is how far out do holds release? What possibly could exist? We travelled a lot during this week and found it to be more popular than people talked about. Today, in our opinion it more popular so its harder than in use to be 10 years ago.

Most convention/group holds are released about a month prior to the start of the block. For general consumers wanting to avoid cancellation fees, packages are released up to 30 days prior to check-in and room-onlys are released up to 5 days prior. It never hurts to simply keep checking as people change plans all of the time and inventory shifts constantly.

People who are reserving room/ticket packages have to cancel 30 days before their trip or they lose their $200 deposit.
Keep checking. Rooms often open up but then disappear quickly.
Busy times sell out frequently. Columbus Day weekend sold out a while ago and Jersey week at the beginning of November sold out 2 months ago. Rooms pop up here and there but you need to keep checking.

I was going to ask the same question about Veterans Day weekend -- had to cancel a mid-October trip so was looking at last minute trip in early November with just my wife (anniversary) before the AP runs out. I was finding ZERO availability except campsites, even when i would shift dates around.

I find that shocking considering how much we have heard attendance is down.

I just did a search for 11/28-11/30 and several resorts show availability. What criteria did you use?

OP wanted a value resort.

Holidays are peak time for Disney as well as airline travel. If you haven't made reservations by now, you will have limited options available at any price.

OP, if your budget allows book a room from the resorts with rooms still available...like Animation. Then check for holds being released or cancellations at the 45 day final payment date

We traveled this week a lot in the past and reserved 10-12 months in advance to get the room/view and club.This week has changed and books out many months in advance.
