Overall the trip was super!!!
1. Embarkation was fairly easy and they used the group number system for boarding. We arrived at about 11am and got group 4. We were on the ship by lunch time.
2. Although it was chilly (60's), cloudy, and windy at Port my girls (ages 4.5 and 3) found the 80 degree Mickey pool to be too much to resist and went in.
3. Tons and Tons of activities and lots of character appearances but some of them were later in the day (during our dinner at 5:45) or at like 9:45 which is too late for my girls.
4. Our ship was totally full but it never really felt crowded except at the Mickey pool
. We got to the pool at like 10:00 or so on the sea day and were able to find the last two lounge chairs that were about 2 rows back from the Mickey Pool.
5. My 4.5yr old daughter actually did enjoy the goofy pool with my DH and she had her floaties on. It was less active (less jumping etc) than the Mickey pool if you can believe it.
6. Service in the dining rooms was very very good we had Coskun and Sean and they really worked hard for us. No complaints what so ever.
7.Palo for dinner was just so so. This was my second cruise and 3rd trip there and this time I found the dining room food was better. I had the Filet, we shared a pizza as a appy and I also had the portabela mushroom appy as well over the rosotto I think it was. The souffle was excellent.
8. Hair braiding in Nassua. We got half way to the straw market and this woman asked if we wanted the girls hair braiding...of course they said yes and so little did we know that we were about to walk ALL the way back to the ship area..lol. Anyway before I knew it this woman put a really dirty comb into my daughters hair...UGH. It was too late then. They each got only 4 braids. I haven't seen any bugs yet praise the lord. Try to resist this if possible or do it on the ship.
9. Docking at CC. Took longer than expected waited with A LOT of other people in the gangway area. We almost had to make another attempt at noon due to high winds but they were able to dock so off we went on a beautiful day at CC!
10. CC was everything that I have read about and more. The food was great the drinks were ok (the cooler from the big machine was not great). The island was in pristine condition, the bathrooms were well kept...no complaints at all. The water wasn't even that cold. It was warmer than the Jersey Shore water ever was!
11. Our cabin steward was Narcisso and he was very helpful. He had to come back and remake Maddie's bed after she spilled water all over it on our last night.
12. Very Bad sewer type smell on the 4th deck in the hallway between the staircase and shutters on the way to AP. This was EVERY night and I still have no idea what that was. It was were they had the silent art auction.
13. The food at BBB was good...lots of shrimp and lots of Mickey waffles and donuts in the morning!
14. Did the Gingerbread house making with my 3 year old and guess what? When asked her favorite part of vacation that was it!!! lol She got her picture taken with the executive pastry chef...too cute.
15. Disembarkation was a total breeze even with 5 people and 10 bags...excellent. My mother has been on 3 other cruise lines and was floored by the ease of it all.
If anyone has any questions I will be happy to answer them!
