I have sold 2 of my smaller DVC contracts. I have to get the sale notarized. I have it costed here in the UK but as we will be In Florida in 2 weeks time I wondered if it would be better/cheaper to get it done in Orlando. Does anyone know what the costs are in Florida and is their a notary public close to WDW.

There are notaries at the DVC Sales Center at SSR. There is no cost for their services for DVC documents. (There might be a cost for a resale purchase however.)

Alternately, most banks will have a notary available for minimal or no cost.

You might even be able to find a notary at the closest US Embassy before you even leave home - just a thought.

You can just Google notary public and Orlando, I'm sure you might find some listings close to WDW. When you do it with a store-front type place (often they're the same kind of places that cash checks) -- it will cost you a bit - maybe $10 or more. I don't know of any that are particularly close to WDW, but I've never looked -- chances are you will find one in one of the shopping plazas close to the World.

I never pay because my company has a notary public in all of our locations and they normally just do it for free, as a favor to the employee, but I did have to go to one of those places once and it was around $10-15.

Edited: Doc - good idea about the bank, but my bank (Wachovia) will only do it for their account holders, per the last time I went there for one. I was going to suggest DVC as well, but wasn't sure if they would do it for a person selling a contract?

Is the closing agent in Orlando? I am sure that you could get your docs notarized there or maybe through the broker who helped you with the resale?

Thank you all. I guess I will take them with me. BTW the cost here is £40 per signature witnessed I.E. 2Xsignatures 2XContracts=£160 x 1.60=$256 Phew!!! the timesharestore's the agent

AAA members are able to get it done for free, depending on your membership level if you have it. Justin

I would call or e-mail The Timeshare Store and tell them you will be in Orlando and ask their advice about a notary. If you will be renting a car, you could stop by their office on the way from the airport.
