Not Your Typical Soarin' Question

We have a family member who wants to ride Soarin', but she has a "different" fear of heights. What she sees on the screen does not bother her at all. She flies in airplanes without an issue as long as she is not on a window seat. The issue she has is when the seats lift from the floor, even the bottom row, and "placed" into the screen. Does the attraction offer anything where she can ride, but stay stationary? Universal offers a bit of that, but I dont think I have ever seen anything like at at Disney.

No one is permitted to be in the theater that is not in the glider riding or the CM who sits in the tower seat watching the cameras. Not even CMs are permitted in the theater. They are very strict about it. I understand the fear and at this point with the new movie being so bad ... I skip it. Movie is so not worth the anxiety.

I get the same feeling. I am good with my feet resting on something. FOP does not bother me, but Soaring makes me nervous with my feet dangling. I skip it.

While not exactly the same, in this scenario I would go and watch the movie in France.

This is actually not a unique question.
No there are no stationary seats.
If one does not like the thought of being off the ground they should not ride.

Universal offers a bit of that, but I dont think I have ever seen anything like at at Disney.

They used to (maybe still do) offer rides on Star Tours with the ride vehicle remaining stationary with only the movie playing.

It needs to be a special request made at a time when there are not too many other guests backed up waiting to ride.
(They may or may not do this anymore.)

I liked the original Soarin' much better than the new one. I agree that if someone is bothered by the motion, they aren't missing much by just skipping this ride.
