I think this would be when you aren't in Guest Rooms. Places like Central Plaza and Town Square.

Oh. Ah. Yes, I hear that bird chirping sound again. That's it. Thanks, Be.

True conversation that occured tonight:

My 76 year old Mom: Honey, how would you like to go out to dinner sometime, you never seem to go out?

Me: I don't feel the need to go out Mom, I work with the public all day and sometimes I like to be quiet. I have friends I talk to all the time!

Mom: Well, are you sure? When I was your age, I was dancing on pianos and flirting with boys.

Me: Really Mom, I'm o.k., I have friends I talk to all the time! I need some time to myself, we will go out later this week, I promise!

I then hang up the phone and log on...what is with parents these days? :rotfl:

You click on the heart icon to the left of the chat box on the bottom of the screen and then "Wave".

Thanks. I feel much better now.

This is just way too comforting for me! I think I just had a Zen moment? It wasn't a Ned moment I know, because there was no man telling me it was a close shave. No, it was more like a voice of comfort in my mind saying.. you are not alone.. there are others just like you.. and its ok. :grouphug: Thanks!! :rotfl:

I have a squeaky door that sounds exactly like the pirate magic parrot sound....does that count?

Oh My God....now I know why I "glove" hanging out with you guys!! :rotfl:

And all this time we all thought it was because our VMK avatars were drawn so gosh darn cute.

I hope nobody minds my bumping my own thought thread. Lately when I log onto VMK I wander about and if chance has it that I find some of my friends on, I consider it a good VMK login day.

Otherwise I find myself missing the old days... that probably explains me hunting my old back roads into the Surf Spot the other evening with my kid.

I gotta tell ya, when everybody started popping in to the Spot that night, I remembered why I was such a VMKaholic in the first days, and why I continue to log on as surfcruiser (which had been less and less lately).

So here's the post that came straight from my gut.... and a remembering of why many of us play. Guess with the anniversary of VMK, I'm getting a bit nostalgic, and missing the freshness of the virtual little world we all have learned to have a love/tolerate relationship with. :)

Okay, so I have read and pondered several posts today by people who are afflicted with a disease that could be titled (among other things) VMK-aholism -- or whatever play on words you prefer to describe the inevitable outcome of another brilliant marketing ploy from the greatest money gathering entertainment corporation in the history of the known universe.

Then I have to face the reality that many of us do when we look in the mirror everyday and say "yup, that's me, a total and complete Disney nut."

So, the masterminds of Disney have built something that the Corporate Judges have deemed as one the "best marketing efforts ever" when they that are them created the Virtual Magic Kingdom.

And we, drawn to the siren's song, longing to be in the Real MK, end up in a place everyday where we can be with and talk to other people who are just as much of a Mickey Ear crazed, Disneyana hunting, Jungle Book memorizing, trip planning compulsive, and Walt loving Disney-tech-geek as you are.

No wonder! We like our friends. And we like people who are like us... unfortunately, my co-workers, my church people, my biker friends, even my family members, all lovingly tolerate their Disney loving friend/husband/dad when I sit for hours deciding the best exact time to schedule a dinner at the Rose and Crown to catch the after dinner show on the water without having to run up a $500 bar tab while waiting.

And yet they (your real life people) never quite get it. I don't say that to be condescending, it just illustrates a difference in people types: those who are bitten by the Disney bug, and those who are not.

So tonight we gather, once again, in a virtual world where our imaginations can take us away to a place where everybody understands our speak and our disease, and as much as we want to say "I can quit anytime," our Walt-inspired morals keep us from being able to lie to ourselves without some guilt.

:)

I just thought I would ramble a bit... hope you've enjoyed it.

Wow I am still laughing after reading this post again! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :joker:

I also have to clean the coca-cola off my screen! :happytv:

It was fun visiting with everybody and hanging out in "old familiar places". :grouphug:
