I got an email from my TA who called and got the 40% discount to my Oct ressie. She says that Disney is reviewing all who got the discount and will revert those w/out a pin back to the original price. :faint: :confused3 I guess we'll see.
As I said before I made my orig ressie at rack price hoping for a discount but ready to pay if one didn't come out. I hope this is either wrong or a scare tactic to get people to stop.
Just thought I'd pass this along so you can prepare for sticker shock should you fall into this category. :scared1:

I can see Disney doing that if a guest made the ressie...but not a TA. That is very poor business. If a TA calls .. they call in on a different line & the CM's there should be responsible for making the error & not penalize the guest or the TA... guests may cancel, leaving the TA without making the commission.. very bad move on Disney's part if they do that to TA's... just my opinion...

I don't buy this for one minute.........I think someone is exaggerating. To go back and "revoke" deals that already have down payments would be a ridiculous stretch.......I'm not flaming the messenger - just the message!;)

I can tell you as a TA I had the CMs (on more than 1 occassion) read me all the rules of the promo I booked my clients under (and you can bet I have a list of name, dates and times). The promotion was very specifically a non-pin (the final line of about a paragraph and a half read to me as "this promotion does not require a pin code"), so while there may or may not be some illegal codes out there, not all TAs are cheats and put their clients in a funny position.

I hope you are all correct. Imagine my :scared1: when I got up this AM all happy that I saved $900 off our trip only to be told maybe not.

I did not have a pin code. But so did others who were able to book. Did I cheat the system, I don't think so as my TA told them I didn't have a pin code. If it was an error I guess I can't blame Disney although they should have said NO to one and all. I didn't have what was needed if this indeed was a pin offer. But "stuff" happens and I'll be going anyway.

Just wanted to give the others in the same boat a heads up as I know that some people upgraded big time based on this.

Let's pray this is wrong.

Are you saying my TA is in the wrong? I am the one who called and asked her to check it out. She explained to me before she called about the in's and out's of pin codes. I told her I knew but that I also had heard of people w/out pins being able to book. She seemed as shocked as me when they accepted it.
I'm not trying to pick a fight with you just trying to see if you mean this code business recently or stuff that has happened in the past.:)

I am not at all speaking to what your TA did, as I do not know. I just know people are quick to jump to the conclusion that the TA did anything necessary to "get the sale". I was simply pointing out that many of us are Disney lovers who do the best for our clients. Sometimes we have to say no - like with the pin code that was emailed to me by 6 potential clients none of who had the pin but I could offer them an alterate legitimate discount. Sorry, didn't mean to offend or be personal.

It wasn't taken that way. I was just trying to say that she was very skeptical before she ever called. She told me that as a TA she doesn't get "deals" like this that she can pass on to her clients. Also, the whole needing a pin to use a code. When she called me back to say they gave it to me she told me to keep looking for a pin (email or snail mail) just incase so we have everything we might need.

I do believe that she did everything right. I don't think she did anything underhanded and I was hesitant to ask as I didn't want to get her into trouble. She seems to be trying to look out for me. And I think the email was just a heads up "just incase this happens you'll be prepared" kind of thing.

For me it isn't a biggie. I kept my original ressies and didn't upgrade. I think some who did upgrade may be sorry if they can't afford the upgrade without the code. I hope they can go back to their original ressie. I know I would be up the creek if it were me.

We are all good. No offense taken. :thumbsup2   There are bad apples in every group who spoil it for all.

If they did raise the rates, I just can't imagine the postings that will be on this board. There will be allot of unhappy people. This code did generate allot of business for Disney. And many Disney CM's said the code could be used. I'm prepared to go either way. I just may go without dining and may trim back a day if the promo isn't applied. But for me, I was told I had a pin in their system before I made my reservation. I called back to make the booking and I gave the code, but was never asked for my pin. Hopefully, my pin was applied and I am safe.
I really hope the code goes through. Many of us go to Disney so often and have never received a pin.

I was able to book yesterday with out a pin#. I even told the CM that I did not have one. Still she said I could book the room only discount with the WWOD promo.

So I got PFQ for $87 in September!!:cool1: :cool1:

Disney also already sent me the invoice by e-mail with my confirmation so I am not worried about them taking it away!!:thumbsup2

I am excited!!

While I wouldn't put it past Disney to do *anything* when it comes to all this stuff... at this point I would be shocked and surprised if they do this. The PR nightmare alone -- nevermind the mass cancellations -- should be enough to make them honor it.

But... as you say.. always good to know the scuttlebut...

I just was trying to give the heads up to the pinless among us. I'd hate to get an ugly wake up call so to speak. This way if the shoe drops we can have our hard hats on and if not then we  :dance3: all the way to WDW.

Did Disney contact her with this information after the reservation was made? Did Disney cancel you're reservation? Just trying to clarify. Thanks!

I just have one word to say, a word I seldom use.

Balderdash!! :duck:

Slightly Goofy

WDW has definitely done this before. There were some very angry DISsers in the past when Disney pulled the rates that people weren't supposed to use. It's a very tricky thing and has resulted in anger, hurt feelings and cancellations.
In fact last year Disney listed a really cheap price for a hotel by mistake and naturally people jumped on it only to be extremely disappointed when told-sorry but we're not honoring this rate.Lots said WDW would never do this because of adverse publicity but they did.

I was wondering the same thing. Has Disney started actually cancelling peoples reservations yet (I mean, contacting them and saying the quote wasn't good). It's been about a week now that people have been using this code and I was just wondering if someone has actually had Disney contact them. With all the posts saying you will get a call or you're going to get to the resort and if you don't have a postcard you'll have to pay more, I was just wondering if this has actually happened to people yet. I know on another site, people were still booking with the code (and no pin) last night. Thanks!!

I am guessing you are referring to the BW incident. I think that is very different as it was a computer glitch were all the person was charged was tax.

This whole PIN thing is getting out of control with all the rumors. One CM said this, it's true, another said that, it's true. The a TA says another and it's true.
All I know is I have a room reservation, with a printed confirmation. The confirmations says that all rates are guaranteed. There is no code or anyting on my confirmation that says a discount or promotion was used. Do I expect Disney to honor my rate and my stated balance- Yes.

I agree. At this point all we have is rumors. Disney hasn't said anything about revoking any reservations. Since this is the case the best thing is not worry about it until Disney does something if they do at all.

I can say from first hand experience that Disney can cancel, change and/or "play" with your confirmed ressies. They are not worried about the "bad PR" or "mass cancelations". And just because you have a paper confirmation may not mean diddly to Disney.
They have it worded on the confirmation that they can cancel at any time(something to that effect).
If someone says Disney is reviewing all ressies-there is a good possibility that Disney is already on the review process. They may have a team start making phone calls to "help" you remake your ressie at the adjusted/correct rate.
Disney also has used the DIS board threads/replies as "ammunition" against certain people in correspondence with the State of Florida Dept. of Agriculture.
Yes, Disney obtained a "very loooong" thread and linked certain people to a certain deal/offer. They(Disney) also made some very inaccurate statements to the Dept. of Agriculture about these people and about how they(Disney) supposedly tried to handle it.
Not trying to rain anyone out, just putting my 2cents in.
