Not to be missed food?

all of the above. and also fried pickles at carnation cafe, churro popcorn (you have to buy this in the shops, you won't find it at the carts), clam chowder (you can find it in both parks), lobster roll at harbour galley, chicken fusilli at pizza port, and the toasted cheese sandwich with tomato soup at jolly holiday- even if you don't like tomato soup (like me!), i recommend trying it. it's really good! but you can swap out the soup if you'd prefer. last time i was there they were also offering turkey noodle, which was good, but the tomato is better!
also, if you want a corn dog in disneyland, go to the stage door cafe. it's a much shorter wait than the red wagon and it's also a bit cheaper

Pomme Frites, Beignets and Gumbo at Cafe Orleans. And their pumpkin Beignets during halloween are incredible. The turkey pot pie in December at Pacific Wharf is also great. Also the Dole Whip float and the vegetable skewer at Bengal Barbecue.

Agree with PP's with the Bengal BBQ at DL, soup in Bread Bowl at Pacific Wharf in DCA and Lobster Nachos at Cover Bar at DCA. Other items, for me, were the Fried Biscuits at Carthay Circle in DCA. You may be able to get them when in the Carthay Lounge. I also enjoyed the limited Main Street Electrical Parade PB&J eclair from the Jolly Holiday Bakery.

While I did not try them (just didn't have enough time), the White Water Snacks (Disney's Californian) Nachos. Tom and the DIS team highly recommend these. Another limited item that I didn't try recently is the Fantasia ice cream (secret menu) from Gibson Girl's. Tom and Mary Jo did a vlog of this as well.

I *love* the monte cristo and pomme frites from Cafe Orleans and the beef skewers at Bengal BBQ.

Dh and I didn't like any of the Disney food except at Cocina cucamonga at DCA. I recommend the soft tacos with beef. DD5 says, "I liked the Mac and cheese at Ariel's grotto, but not the meat on top," lol. I did like the lobster salad at Ariel's grotto.

I agree with PP comments about Beignets, but IMO they are much better from Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in DTD than they are in DL.

For DCA, I would include the Churros and Chili Cone Queso at the Cozy Cone Motel, and Jalapeno Cheese Pretzel with a Blue Moon at Bayside Brews in Paradise Pier

I totally forgot to mention our DCA favorites:

Pacific Warf Cafe- so many good items here- soups and salads in sourdough bread bowls, as well as a delicious turkey sandwich
corn dog castle- hot link corn dog
cozy cone- love the chocolate dipped cones

Here are the items that are always on our list to eat:
Beef nachos from Whitewater Snacks
Salted carmel brownie sundae from Ghirardelli- huge and amazing!!
Dole Whip
Chicken fuscilli from Pizza port
Jalapeno cheese pretzel
Lobster Nachos from Cove bar
Corn dog from Stage door

churro popcorn (you have to buy this in the shops, you won't find it at the carts)

Im curious about what this is now. We LOVE churros but have never heard of churro popcorn.

I love the fried pickles!

Some of our favorites (many have already been said, but I'll list them anyway!):

Disneyland
- Mickey waffles from Carnation Cafe. Also, just Carnation Cafe in general. Delicious food and reasonably priced.
- Bengal BBQ skewers
- Plaza Inn fried chicken
- Dole whip float
- Popcorn! I love Disney popcorn
- Matterhorn Macaroon from Jolly Holiday

DCA
- Steak nachos from Whitewater Snacks - This is a fantastic place to take a break, especially on a hot day. It's rarely very busy, and the food is good and decently priced for Disney.
- Burger, fries, and a shake from Smokejumpers Grill - We really like that place!
- Ice cream from Clarabelle's

oh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Dole Whip, but it's an acquired taste.. you either love it or hate it (from what I have read). (The float is also good if you really like pineapple!)

The usual are all mentioned but I also love milkshakes from flos diner in carsland, the monte crisco at blue bayou, the pearodise soda in carsland, and the chocolate peanut butter graham from the candy shops.

Baked potato soup at the Carnation Cafe. my mouth is watering just thinking about it! And, you might see Chef Oscar while you are there!!! I have had the privilege to meet him twice!

Don't forget to swing by Ghirardelli for your free chocolate at the door when your passing through....:goodvibes

I was just thinking, "oh what's that amazing soup at Carnation?? That's what I'll post!!" :rotfl2: Excellent choice! Also, Walt's Chili at Carnation is super good too!

Chicken nachos at WWS, near DCA.
