Not sure who to be angry with

Also, have you considered heading to Yachtsman Steakhouse, or maybe Flying Fish? Both nice restaurants for a special dinner. Yes, expensive, but the food was really good. Shula's is a good bet...again expensive but you only Disneymoon once right?
Just thinking out loud I guess.

First, I would keep checking online each day. I accidently made an 8:05 breakfast ressie for CP and TH both on Morning EMH. After a week or so of checking, I was able to get a later ressie for CP. Yeah!:)

ADR's do not have to be attached to your room reservation. So, you are free to redo your ressies based on your park touring plans. If you are able to get new ADR's for better times, then have your TA cancel your other ressies. But make sure that your TA knows for future reference how dissatisfied you are with his service and if any of your previous reservations required a credit card hold, make for double sure that these get cancelled.

Second, while you are in WDW, You can check with your resort concierge desk or with guest relations at any park on the day you wish to dine to see if their is any availability

Third, you can always try walking up. many people say that arriving at opening for breakfast or dinner helps your chances.

Also, there are some other really nice signature restuarants around Epcot that do not cost much more than LeCellier that usually have availability. If you are not on DDP, Le Cellier is fairly expensive for dinner.

So sorry this happened to you! This a good chance to show the kind of character strength you will need to call upon many times in your marriage--handling disappointing news with grace and choosing to make lemonade out of those lemons that life often hands you. Choose right now to make the best of this situation and you may be surprised at how fun it can be to dine at places you were not expecting to visit.

Can you list the places where you were planning to dine?

If you are on the DDP and looking to spend only one point at each meal, the places I think you should consider would be:

Sanaa
Turf Club
The Wave
GFC
Kona
Coral Reef
Either of the new restaurants in Epcot

There are many more...I would probably just avoid buffets or character meals and WCC unless you just really love that sort of thing.

My beef with our first day there was that all of the quiet, dark, romantic restaurants in the parks themselves seem to also have no reservations available at all on Saturday evening, when we first arrived.

I'm not aware that there are any quiet, dark AND romantic restaurants in Epcot except maybe Bistro de Paris...have you tried that one? (It's not on the dining plan though). Le Cellier might qualify as "dark" but that's it.

First, let me say that I'm so sorry this happened to you....very disappointing, I know.

Second, take charge and secure your own ADRs....cancellations happen everyday and you may get lucky to get one.....check as often as you can, and I agree..check the cancellations thread.

Best of luck to you.

whits end..... Did you get any of these?

I really like Chef de France.

We are also going at about the same time you are October 4 to October 9. I didnt start planning until June and had some difficulty getting my ADR's as well. Never did get LeCellier. But I can give you hope that something may open up. I was able to get Chef Mickey for dinner ... not romantic... but difficult to obtain non the less. I got the Chef Mickey reservation about a month ago. Just keep checking the website. Like the other posters have said. People cancel, change their mind. Also I would put the Disney dining number in my phone so you can call when you are in Disney. My mom and I were in Disney October 2008. We had a late reservation.. cant remember where now, but anyway, at 5pm we decided we were hungry now. So instead of walking around trying to find somewhere to eat, I called Disney Dining for same day reservations and they were able to tell me what was available anywhere for that evening. We ended up at Cape May and loved it.
I also agree that since it is just the 2 of you that you may have a good chance with a walk up at resturant opening. Dont despair... dont be mad at your future husband.... you have to live with him for a while longer.... I think I would express my disappointment with the travel agent.... and never us his service again.

OP - these came up with availability on 10/9 for dinner at Epcot:

Biergarten Restaurant
5:00 PM 7:00 PM

Bistro de Paris
6:00 PM 8:15 PM

Les Chefs de France
4:50 PM 8:20 PM

Nine Dragons Restaurant
6:15 PM 6:30 PM 6:45 PM

Restaurant Marrakesh
5:40 PM 6:20 PM 6:40 PM

Teppan Edo
4:00 PM

Tokyo Dining
6:20 PM 6:40 PM

The dining page has a great feature that allows you to search for any restaurant in a park. Again - good luck! I know it's disappointing - I HATE it when I get my heart set on something and can't book it - but I think you'll find some great dining options and who knows - maybe you'll find a new favorite.

Have to agree with TDC Nala on this one. Romance is very hard to come by in the Epcot restaurants, now, with DDP and free dining. To give you my take on Epcot restaurants that another poster indicated are available for your first night:

Dh and I have found a bit of romance dining late at Marrakesh and San Angel Inn. The tables at San Angel Inn are way too close together. However, we asked for and received a table for two on the side next to the wall that wasn't too bad. All the tables with water view are for four or more so that wasn't an option. The place is dark but certainly not quiet.

As for Marrakesh, the restaurant itself is so gorgeous that it really contributes to the ambience. Also, they have the music and belly dancer which contribute to a feeling that you are someplace exotic.

Les Chefs de France has tables that are far too close together. There is nothing but noise and confusion there these days. Not a hint of romance (that was not always the case but it is the situation now).

Nine Dragons was a mad house for dinner when we dined there in August during free dining. I also ended up with a few pieces of something tiny and plastic and hard in my noodle entree. The manager comped my meal because of it and, since I didn't bite down on any of the pieces and break a tooth, that was an acceptable accommodation. It was not a terribly appealing dinner, however.

We've never done Biergarten. No doubt it's dark but certainly not quiet. And, there is not much romance (though there can be lots of fun) in sharing a table with others. Finally, a german-food buffet isn't appealing to us.

We like Tokyo Dining. The sushi and sashimi are very fresh, there are lots of other choices -- raw and cooked, and the tables aren't so close together than you feel like you're sitting in the lap of someone at the next table. Plus, you can see some of Illuminations from the glassed-in area of the restaurant (but not the area near the sushi bar).

Teppan Edo, again, is communal seating -- fun but not romantic. We're also not fans of dishes where everything is chopped up and thrown in a bowl. But that's just us.

Bistro de Paris is very nice but very expensive and not on DDP. A friend and I dined there last month and she said it was so expensive she'd rather just spring for a bit more and eat again at V&A. I must say, however, that my steak at Bistro was outstanding as were the other things we had there -- tuna tartar, escargot, cheese and the chocolate dessert. The wine list needs serious improvement, however. It is not a very extensive list. And, while there are some nicely chosen bottles available, the choices by the glass were few and not that great. They had only one Cotes du Rhone available by the glass per the wine list -- and they didn't even have any of that one to pour! There were two bordeaux wines available by the glass. There was one red burgundy. Very disappointing for a high-end restaurant. The best value is to do the set price dinner with wine pairings.

Shula's is a good bet...again expensive but you only Disneymoon once right?
Shula's is defiantly dark and romantic with (IMO) the best steak on property. Restaurant.com has a $25 certificate for them right now for $10. You can usually save 50-90% off that $10 with coupon codes. Shula's is still expensive but that certificate will make it a about $20 less expensive and the OP can save her extra TS credit for a Signature meal or dinner show.

keep trying and I read a few that has done walk ups and were able to get in LeCellier. Have a magical trip

Sorry to hear that, as others said just keep trying.
Also at check in talk to the concierge at your hotel.
Sometimes they can do things for you.

A lot may depend on where your staying, you will most likely have better luck if you are at a Deluxe than a value, but even that is no guarantee..

It is amazing how many "horror" stories I hear related to using a TA with Disney.
I’ve seen people show at Disney with the Deluxe Dinning plan during free dinning and NO reservations because the TA did not tell them they needed them.

Back before Disney changed the way they worked with a TA it was the best bet.
They could do a lot more for you back then.
Now I find it best just to do it all myself.

San Angel Inn is very romantic and dark!!

It usually has availability as well.

You can't beat this place for romantic atmosphere. Although the food is NOT tex mex, it is more traditional dishes, check out the menu and if it appeals to you try it. You won't be disappointed.

To give you a bit of hope, we have NEVER planned a trip more than 2 months in advance, and mostly about 1-1.5 months. We have managed to eat every place we wanted to except..........Le Cellier. :confused3

What we do is figure out where we REALLY want to eat. Get those ADRs, then plan the parks etc around those, then fill in the remaining ADRs. Granted, we have kids so we like to eat early and there seems to be a better opportunity to get early ADRs.

So, a few suggestions......

1. Citricos. Go here. Our best dinner ever at WDW, one of the top meals anywhere.

2. Artist Pointe We thought nothing could knock this out of the top spot, still an awesome place to eat. Go here. I feel the mushroom soup could stand up anyplace.

Both of these are higher end restaurants and would be great on a honeymoon. ( I just asked my wife and she mentioned these 2 first.)

A few others we love and some are easy ADRs.....

1. Olivia's We feel this is the hidden gem at WDW. Easy ADR.

2. Yak and Yeti. Surprisingly good.

3. Hoop Dee Do Love this place. Might be a bit tough, try early.

My wife likes some Epcot that might be easy...like Germany and Norway.

Good luck, and congrats!

For Epcot the 2 new TS resturants aren't listed on the website yet and I think both have wonderful menus. La Hacienda is even waterfront. Via Napoli is getting very nice reviews. Try calling wdw dine and I bet you could get both of these. Menus are on allears

I've been trying for 2 months to get Le Cellier. Last week some opened and I got a 4:45. We are going the beginning of Dec. so just keep watching and trying. I would try at last 3 or 4 times a day. Even when you get closer to your date people maybe cancelling at the last minute so keep trying

TDC Nala - I know my post was long, but if you look towards the bottom, you'll see where I stated that I would accept ANY Le Cellier reservation that week, whether lunch or dinner. My beef with our first day there was that all of the quiet, dark, romantic restaurants in the parks themselves seem to also have no reservations available at all on Saturday evening, when we first arrived. I'm definitely doing some calling around from the airports as we go down. :)

Thanks for everyone for the kind words and advice. I will definitely be checking the cancellation thread and doing a lot of calling. In between making programs and dress fitting and music editing and teaching seventh graders..... GAH. :dance3::dance3::dance3:

I have eaten at LC several times and it is Not dark and quiet!!!

Le Cellier was nowhere near romantic. I'd say most of the park restaurants are not romantic - "dark and quiet." You need to look at the hotel restaurants for that.

Thank you thank you THANK YOU to all of you for your support and help. As you advised, I kept trying and kept trying and kept trying. I haven't found a Le Cellier yet, but I managed to get a Liberty Tree Tavern for the night we're going to MNSSHP!!!:banana::banana: I'm so excited, since this was another biggie for me.

Thank you again!!

keep trying online and at different times of day. i've gotten le cellier and crt that way in the past, you just never know. i can only imagine how frustrated you are but maybe you can find some different signature places you guys can explore together. consider citricos, narcoossee's, artists point, bistro de paris, or california grill for example.

That totally sucks! But since you'd been there before and new some places you wanted to eat, you should never have left making adrs' up to someone else. You should've done it yourself.

Keep trying on line to get something. I know i keep going on and changing my reservations (cancelling, adding, etc.) so i'm sure plenty of other people do the same thing and i'm sure you'll get a few that you really want.

Yay!

I'm checking daily too.... Vacation was originally planned for me and DH. He got laid off and just got re-employed (starts new job Monday), so he can't go (we can't afford to have him take any more unpaid time off!). He did NOT want to do any character dining, so I didn't make any ADRs for them. Now that he isn't going and I am going with a friend, I'm trying to get a couple. I did manage to get Crystal Palace, so I'll be happy to have at least one!

Once it gets closer, my friend and I will look at our "agenda" and I'll cancel any of the ADRs that I don't need.
