not sure what to do

not sure what to do--we have an aug UY so in march I banked our 82 points that were left over since we couldnt use them last year
so when I made our plans for Jan 2022 (this is when we usually go) we had a total of 182 points (the 82 banked and our yearly 100)

so I needed 121 for 6 nites at the poly which is our home resort--which gives me 61 points that come March I can banked those

but anyway--were thinking of maybe dropping a day since first of all were planning on just doing a resort stay--thinking that maybe 6 nites would be rather hard to fill with no park days--since right now its waaaay to much work just to get into a park with the resveration system--genie + starting soon plus all the added expense

so if we drop a day that would give us approx 22 points refund-now would those points go back so I can bank them come next march--or are they used for this trip

also Id like some advice--since werent not sure about doing a park Im thinking of saving the points for the poly and changing to SSR by doing that we could use all the banked points which would then give us 200 points (the 100 banked and 100 yearly) hoping that any saved points would go into the current UY so I can then bank them

also not sure as to when the monorail opens at the poly--hard to justify staying there if it not running

my head spins--how I miss the good ole days

Your current reservation took 82 banked points and 39 points from your current allocation. If you were to drop a day, the returned points would come from your current allocation of points (IOW from those 39 points, not the 82 banked points). So you would get 22 bankable points returned to your account.

As previous posted wrote, your banked points are used first and then current year points second. So if you drop a day, you get those current year points back (which are bankable). And I just came back from Poly, monorail station open last weekend.

Thanks for the update on the monorail. Maybe now we’ll just keep what we have. The last time we stayed there we were in Pago Pago it so very easy to get around. Thanks also for clarifying about the points. I was hoping I could bank them.

We were at Pago Pago and it was newly renovated (Murphy beds a plus). All dvc rooms should be renovated when you guys head out there.

We love Pago Pago's the proximity to TTC and we got pixie dust with Goofy and Pluto visiting Poly at side entrance of our bldg. I'm not sure if they move around the resort, but we were at right place, right time.

I know not exactly what you asked but you did mention SSR. I would try to get SSR if you are doing a resort-only stay. This would give you DTD in your backyard for the evenings (or day) without taking any transportation.

Also, stayed at OKW for the first time in January and it is a hidden gem.

Not yet. I only saw red stripe and yellow stripe (standard) lines on the monorails. It would be cool if they did an overlay.

Just noticed when I check our resveration it stills says the due to refurbishment at the poly monorail station is currently unavailable. Yet another poster they just rode it. And it had just opened. Confused it’s still listed on DVC

DVD and Disney are not the most efficient at updating their websites. And for Disney IT, DVC seems to be an afterthought for site updates.

Park reservations are easy. Monorail is open. There are no waits so you don’t need genie+.

If I take my chances and just waitlist the days and hope for pixie dust the rest of the days are still there if/when the WL comes through if they aren’t still there what happens if the WL comes through What I’m trying to avoid Is having poly days automatically canceled and not having all what I need at okw. Decisions decisions

You can set the waitlist up to either cancel what you have or not have it cancel. It’s up to you.

They do not hold the days so if you don’t book what is there now, and waitlist the missing days, you do indeed risk not having all the nights you want.

It really comes down to whether you have enough other points without borrowing to book some now while you still hold Poly while you try to piece it together, But that also may require the split stay.

If a split stay is not an option, then just waitlist all 6 nights, and set it up to replace the Poly and just keep trying to get it on your own as well.

Since OKW is less points, just set up the waitlist to end 31 days out and not 7.

This way, you will be able to bank points if it comes through.

You can go in and deactivate a waitlist at anytime you want. If it is set up to cancel at 31 days, it will disappear at that time.

You do not need to do anything.
