Call me crazy, but I think the Futureworld side of Epcot has been less about "the future" and more about "let's see how many attractions we can put in here to make people think we are always updating, when in reality we are just throwing things up". It's moving away from it's original concept of the future.
UOE is dated. It was updated in the 90's...oK, that's already 6 years ago. What was going on in the world of energy 6 years ago may be a lot different than what is going on today.
The Living Seas. Dated. Stripped down. The sea cabs are gone. They stuck nemo in there to try and maximize their profit from their investment into that storyline...cute, but where's the "futuristic" quality?
The Land. Until they added Soarin', it, too, was becoming tired. The Living with the Land ride has been the same since my honeymoon in 1991. I first saw about hydroponic gardening when I went to WDW as a college kid in the mid 80's. I'm 44 now.
Wonders of Life. Frankly, I thought this pavillion had some of the most clever stuff. The movie with Martin Short was informative and entertaining. The Cranium Command was also quite entertaining, although they should have updated it with characters more well-known to kids these days...how many kids know "Norm" from "Cheers" and would get a kick out of him as the stomach guy??? I liked Body Wars...thought it was fairly well done. The "filler" stuff...all those little doodads that displayed hot and cold and nerves and stuff were good time killers.
TT and MS are good, but they are fairly new, and I can foresee them getting mundane pretty quickly. TT is already one that I can skip if necessary.
I don't even know what to say about Imagination. The 3D movie is ancient already. The ride is horrid.
I think the entire Futureworld side needs a re-imagining.
