We will have 2 stays during free dining. The first one is a 4 day trip for my anniversary. I dont think we will hit the parks (we are staying at Poly and want to enjoy each other and the resort) but if we do, it will be one day at Typhoon Lagoon... not sure if we can use our one day base ticket for that or not but even if we can, we will pay OOP for it as its cheap enough for 1 day. So that gives me 2 1 day passes. Then we go again 11 days later for 12 days with the kids! Now, can I take those 2 1day base tickets and upgrade 1 to an AP (hoping to go again at Christmas and maybe get an AP rate and then again for free dining next year) and then use the second 1 day pass and use it for a water park AP? Or does it have to be a 1 day WITH the WP option? THE PAP (for WHAT WE USE) isnt worth it.. its cheaper to get a regular AP and the water park AP. We dont do pleasure island etc. I sure hope I can use a 1 day base ticket for a water park AP! If this isnt the correct board, where can I post it?

Those 1 day base tickets can't be used at a water park; they can only be used at one of the 4 main theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom or Disney-MGM Studios). However, they can be upgraded to AP's; you'll have to pay the difference in price at the time you upgrade.

Hang on to your room key if you do upgrade, as your park tickets will be encoded on to your key.
