We’ve got a ton of points for 2021. Grateful for that btw.

so we are thinking that we’d like to escape our drab and chilly if not frosty Northeast winter by using them all next year across say mid February till the points wear out. We are not particular between studios or 1 BR. what I’m not sure re is the likelihood of booking either type or both for an extended time, all of course at the 11 month window.

i did a “dummy” try last week and could not get any sort of reservation.

And then again, to make it more complicated, we really like BC lately although it’s not one of our home resorts. So I thought I’d grab CC and or BRV at 11 months and try to switch the whole shebang. To BC at 7 months?

At 11 months you should be OK! Sounds like a great idea!

Here in south Jersey it has not been a bad winter, but we are escaping for two weeks, starting Monday!

So, when you were trying last week, you would have been looking at December, since 11 months from last week is, literally, BOOM WEEK at WDW. You were looking at high holiday. I don't think it was a fair trial, especially with VWL and CCV involved.

Also, remember that you will only be able to book 7 nights at 11 months. So if you try for anything > 7 at 11 months, things fail out.

A lot of what you are mentioning is very vague so it is hard to tell the probability of doing what you want. If your point levels are in the thousands, then you could book a week at your home resort and just keep adding onto it, but I doubt the same amount of days would be available at BCV at 7 months. You could always do a few days at VWL, then a few at BCV, then switch back if you don't mind the back and forth.

i thin you will be able to do what you want at 11 months and slowly build.

The other option is to book the stay in segments so that you can trade at 7 months into BCV for shorter periods. In the end, you may be able to get all your days, or, at the least, do a split stay.

And I agree with the suggestion to book it in segments to start - like weekly. That will allow you to change at least some of it more easily at 7 months because it is unlikely you would be able to switch 100% to BCV for the entire month. 1BR's will have the most availability at 7 months but you'll probably find studios at some resorts too.
