We are thinking about going to the Nov 1st date. Is it extremely crowded at that time? We have never been to the party before, but it sounds fun. We just don't want to be there if it's too crowded to enjoy.

DO IT!! The party is fantastic. We are also doing the party on 11/1. It will be crowded but you can still enjoy everything and the lines for trick or treatin' go really quick. You get soooooooo much candy. The second parade is not as crowded as the first one. But get there early to see the headless horseman. So great! Some rides (like Peter Pan) have waits and I am sure the new Fantasyland attractions will be popular but we found most of the rides are not all that bad. It's also one of the only times you get to see all seven dwarfs together (found them last year by Splash Mountain). All the villians. Great fireworks show.

Can you tell we love it - this will be our 17th Halloween at WDW.

Thanks so much for the info! We have decided to give it a try!

We also really enjoyed this party. It was crowded in the early evening but as the night wore on the crowds dwindled. I would wait til later in the evening for candy as those lines were often long. There are so many neat things to see. We are planning to go again this year.

It was great fun! We did it for the first time last year. We went to a mid October party so our crowds were fairly light. However I am not even a Halloween fan and I loved it. I recommend it. :thumbsup2

I say do it...we went last Sept and it was great! The second parade is definitely less crowded (we watched both) and the fireworks were amazing! We saw them right around Splash/Thunder Mountain and had a great view and then great place for the parade. If you're into the photo pass they do some great "special effects" pictures around the haunted mansion and between adventure land and frontier land...turned our really cool. We're definitely going to do it again on our next trip (Oct 2014)

Thanks, we will be sure to hit the candy lines later!

We do the photo pass, so we will be sure to get lots of pics in those locations! Thanks for the great tip!

Agree with all PP.. DO IT.. any chance at any MNSSHP, that is not a fin hardship.

It will be a busier party, but not like Christmas they still limit tix, but who knows to what :rotfl2:

Also the trick or treating, dance parties, and stuff all are free for all.. no waiting they know how many peeps will be in the park, due to sales, and staff accordingly.

The line for the 7 dwarfs will be longer, but skip it and watch the parade and FW :)

Do you feel out of place if you aren't dressed in a costume? I was planning on making MNSSHP shirts for us instead but don't want DD8 to feel like she's missing out.

My husband and I wore shirts that were made specifically for the Halloween party. Our kiddo dressed up and (mostly) kept his costume on but would probably have been just as happy in a t-shirt. There is a wide variety of people wearing full out costumes to nothing more than normal park wear. Many of the kids had costumes but there were plenty who did not. I'd ask her what she wants to do and go with it!

We went on Nov 1st in 2010, we bought about a month ahead. Tickets were available when we got to WDW on Oct 29th, but on the 1st that morning we saw the sign that they sold out. What happens is all the guests who show up to MK on the 30th or 31st expecting to buy tickets in person to MNSSHP or don't know about it and are convinced to buy tickets can't get them on the 30th or 31st, buy them for the 1st, the last party.

It is crowded, but as other PP noted there are tips to help plan. My tip, they give a ton of candy, not 1 or 2 pieces, but 1 or 2 handfuls throughout the night as it's the last party and when you leave MK (not sure if it was cause we left at 12) they pretty much fill your bag with candy. As you walk past the CMs at the exit gates, they just put handfuls and handfuls of candy into any bag, hands, mickey ears, shoes, etc :hyper: So you can wait til you leave to collect a ton.

This year will be the 3rd year in a row that we're doing MNSSHP, and we love it.
The FW are awesome and parade and trick or treating is a lot of fun.

We put the kids in costumes and me and the DW will wear Disney Halloween shirts.
