hi everyone! DBf and i might be going back to Disney in September in time for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and i'd like to dress up but i don't know what i can wear -- i'll be 20 by then and he'll be 21. i've read in some places that adults can't dress up as Disney characters, and i read somewhere else that adults can dress up as Disney characters but you have to wear something that says you're not a cast member and you can't take pictures/sign autographs for people?

i'd like to know what is the actual rule on this as well as popular costumes for young adults. thank you so much!!

You can dress up as Disney Characters for the parties, but at no other time.

My group of friends (ranging from 26-32 years old) are going as villains to MNSSHP in September. One is Jafar, another hasn't decided, and two of us are going as Anastasia and Drizella.

oh okay, great! thank you! :) i'll have to start thinking of ideas!! when in September are you all going? i think we'll be there between September 17th-20th.

We've been going down for the last 4 years in Sept/Oct timeframe and will be going again at the end of Sept. for the MNNSP as well, Our experience has been very good for dressing up as pirates, tinkerbell(wife) etc. but I just want you not to wear anything heavy - at 9pm at night it can still be hot and humid! The parks tar driveways hold the heat and you really feel it walking around. Also, the parks will be very busy - everyone lines up for trick or treating and the lines can be long, But for the most part they're fast and alot of fun seeing everyone dressed up. Alot of people wear tee shirts and a hat with shorts to keep cool. Hope that helps you out!:thumbsup2

I love the halloween party! we are going in September this time. I know it will be hot...
Anyway, I wanted to be The Incredibles since we have the same number that is going but my DS(7) said he doesn't want to....
I guess thats ok though since my hips are too big too be Mrs. Incredible and the costume is skin tight!:lmao:

Just want to second the opinion about wearing "cool" costumes. It's super hot in Sept. A lot of traditional Halloween costumes are not geared toward Florida heat and humidity! This is the time to get creative and have fun. MNSSHP was the highlight of our last trip.

I tend to be the sort that is willing to 'suffer' a little to get a great costume. I have been known to wear a full Elizabethan outfit (shift, full corset, farthingale, full gown, 2 sets of sleeves, partlet, ruff, coif and hat) in July because its essential for the proper shape for my SCA persona, and the group I'm going to MNSSHP with are the same.

We're going full out with our costumes, and don't mind a little heat...we just plan on drinking lots of extra water.

The picture posted (to the left side) was taken at MNSSHP 2007. Captain Jack Sparrow and the other person (sorry I don't know her name) were not cast members. I just stopped them and asked if I could get my picture with them. They were very nice and they were in character.

When does this usually take place from when to when? I would like to take my kids this year. We have never tried to go during halloween. Would you think a 14 1/2 year old would like it? Thanks.

Here are the dates:

September: 4, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25, 29, 2009
October: 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 2009

I have gone the last 2 years and I am going again the end of September. I have never identified myself as not being a cast member and no one else I saw did. I was mistaken for the actual CM Cinderella a few times last year though and was asked for autographs and pictures, so this year I will be Tinkerbell at 5'10 I don't think I will be mistaken to be a CM fairy.

I saw a really fun group of the 7 dwarfs last year too, that would be a great group costume. The have Prince Charming costumes at the Disney outlet online right now, you both could go as a princess/ prince duo.
