Hi! I need ideas! Please :)

My oldest daughter turns 7 the day before Halloween. She is wanting a Halloween birthday party and I asked how about a "MNSSH - Birthday - Party"

Well she loves the idea, so now I am trying to plan out some details. The party will be early afternoon, so the kids will have plenty of time to go trick or treating at night.

I am trying to come up with some ideas for games/food/prizes that are a bit more "MNSSHP" than regular Halloween party. We are planning to invite her whole class plus family and friends (about 50 invited, expect 30ish to show).

I made invitations and thank you cards at vistaprint and they turned out adorable.

So the games & activities I have been thinking about are:

1. Pin the nose on the jack-o-lantern. I was able to make one on vistaprint for $3.xx and the shipping. I couldn't put mickey ears on it though - I haven't ordered it yet... so maybe I can find a cute picture to use.

2. Halloween Candy Hunt. This is just like Easter egg hunting, but you use halloween candy instead.

3. Wrap the Mummy, with tp.

4. A dance party, of course.

Food: No clue.

Prizes: I have thought about a mixture of halloween toys from Walmart or Dollar Tree. Probably pencils, erasers, games, vampire teeth, glow in the dark sticks, some candy, etc...

Since I expect jsut as many adults as children, I was thinking about having some games they can be involved in, or even having the parents do the "wrap the mummy" while the children watch.

Please please help me out with some ideas. We have a little over a month, but I want it to be well organized. (Last years party wasn't that great.)

I'm doing a halloween party for my DD (pre-school) and for the food, we are doing edible eye balls. Dounut holes dipped in white choc, with a choc chip in the center and red veins coming out. Put it on a stick, and stick them into that green floral foam. I'm also hallowing out oranges for each kid, and sticking veggies in them. Then for the dip, I'm going to make a haunted graveyard. Take celery sticks and make them the trees. Crackers and write RIP on them (in edible markers of course) and stick them in there. And don't forget to put green food dye in there to make it green. What else are we doing as far as food..... for the real food were just doing pizza. I bought little spider rings, so I'll probably throw one on each slice. I have a lot of cylendar vases, so I'm going to fill them with candy and put them in the center of the tables, and kids can take what they want in their goody bags.

For decorations, Walgreens has some great Mickey pumpkins right now!

Playhouse Disney Celebration Center has some printouts and suggestions for food and the like. Here's a link.

You could print out some stencils (or pick some up at the craft store) and have all the kids carve or decorate a Mickey pumpkin or Funkin (those fake pumpkins they sell at craft stores). Kraftfoods.com has lots of recipes on there, and many for Halloween stuff. You could always make rice krispies treats and cut out Mickey's with a cookie cutter. Shove a popsicle stick in the bottom. Put out some melted chocolate, melted orange candy melts, and Halloween themed sprinkles and let the kids go at it, and then eat their creation.

Oh, and who doesn't love the classics. Have them close their eyes and stick their hands in peeled grapes (eyeballs) and cooked spaghetti (worms). I'm sure there are lots more like that.

When DS was that age he and all his friend loved having a pinata. Maybe you could find a Mickey one?

Walmart had ghost pumpkin (and others) pinatas when I was there yesterday. They were only $10, but of course that doesn't include the candy.

Thanks guys!

I am going to have to check out Walgreens, I wouldn't mind having a MIckey pumpkin for ALL our halloweens.

I am going to have to check out that website too!

Grapes and spaghetti is a perfect activity :rotfl: Maybe toss a little vegetable oil in there so it is "slimy".

I love the idea of painting or carving pumpkins. We have a local pumpkin patch that just might gives us some of their "extra" pumpkins since it is ON halloween day.

I have been wanting to make Mickey head rice krispy treats for so long :) I even thought about having them at my wedding, but time didn't permit.

I like the idea of the pinata, but I am thinking I want to replace it with a "candy hunt".
