Not So Irate At Dvc Right Now! UPDATED & Resolved

The lesson I take from this: After your initial reservation is made, don't call back and give them any reason to open your reservation on their computers.

That's the part that has me most upset. The fact that I got the GV and now it's gone....that's what has me so irate. Let me tell you this: if they can't produce a GV for me, then Jim Lewis's office is getting a call. Many, many calls if necessary.

Like JimMIA says tho, they can't just create a new GV ... so they'd have to take it from the someone who's waitlist filled. If they cancelled other plans, then what?

I'm thinking their only options at this point is to bump you to the top of the GV waitlist and hope someone else cancels and/or comp your points for a 2BR+S

If they are overbooked by one, I would imagine that there would be 1 cancellation between now and then. However, I think they have some GV's kept at DVC's discretion.

Bobbi:)

so from the OP's orginal post to the OP's next Update was 3 hours and a few minutes.

I guess it's just different strokes, but I doubt I would have instantly run to post a drama that got resolved to my satifaction within that timeframe. :confused3

editied to add that I am glad the OP got what was expected.

Believe me we are leaving in less than 30 days for our GV at OKW. I have been checking online periodically for several months now and if I were to find out mine was cancelled I would be posting immediately.

To the OP:

I am so glad they resolved this for you. You stuck to your guns and followed up and it worked out for you!!! Yeah!!!

I just heard the construction workers were in there with saws and hammers blazing away at record speeds. Never seen a GV get built so fast. Don't mind the duct tape holding the counter tops together. ;)

:rotfl2: :lmao:

I would love to know how a villa suddenly became available as well. Don't they have some units available for "cash" customers? Maybe they gave me one out of that inventory. Who knows??!
I wonder if they took the villa away from the waitlist person. It would be only fair.

Update:

So, I wait for MS to call me back. No call. So I called and asked to speak to the same supervisor I spoke to earlier.

MS: Sorry, she is gone for the day.

K&C: No she's not. Please put me on hold until she can come to the phone.

MS: OK. *Disney muzak*

MS: Ma'am, I cannot find her, can I take your number?

K&C: OK. Here's my number, but please let her know that I need to hear from her before 4:30 or I will reach out to Jim Lewis.

MS: Ok, I'll let her know.

On the way home, my cell phone rang.

MS: We're SO sorry. We reviewed the tape and you're completely right. They should have never taken you out of the villa and put you in a 2-bedroom. Again, we're so sorry. We put you back in a Villa!

K&C: In OKW??? You found a villa in OKW?

MS: Yes, one became available.

K&C: Thank you VERY MUCH!!!!!!! :worship: :worship: :goodvibes

Well, everyone, thank you for your kind words of encouragement!! I'm still shocked that an "extra" villa miraculously appeared from the heavens ;) .

Moral: Document every time you call MS. Write down the name of the MS rep you talk to. Check your reservations frequently to make sure MS doesn't do the same thing to YOU!!!!

Awesome!

But what am I supposed to do with this flaming bag of dog poop? It's starting to singe my fingers!

(hello, tag fairy, that one was AWESOME!)

No no, I like the drama. I got stuck at home all day while the HVAC guys installed a new system. My kids were bored and hot, I was thoroughly entertained. Feel free to post any and all DVC dramas--it made my day today.

My boss was peeved that I couldn't come into work, though...

I wonder whatever could have been the situation that would lead them to make such a change without confirming it with you, or at least sending you another confirmation letter by mail.

Glad to hear it worked out!

Snappity snap snap:eek: that must have been a stressful day OP glad it all worked out!:worship:

Just wondering but you know how there are always discussions on the boards about why we (DVC) are told that everything is full but if you go on the CRO system you could book it. The answer is that they are two different sets of inventories, etc. etc. Perhaps they have GV's they keep for cash inventory and they were able to use one of those in this circumstance?

Whatever it was I am happy it worked out for you!

Oh thank God...I'm so glad everything worked out for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is soo great to hear!!!:cool1:
:yay: i bet you are jumping up and down.
isnt it amazing how they come through. :worship:

I guess I didn't intend to be 'dramatic', I was just so upset because I was told there were no villas left. My first thought was "what am I going to do now???!!". I was totally freaked out for two reasons; one - because I had all documentation proving my original reservation, and they changed it without my consent OR sending an updated confirmation, and two - I would have never been the wiser unless I went online simply to take a look at my remaining points, and saw it with my own eyes. What would I have done if I dragged all nine of us to OKW on 12/2, and was told at check-in that the villa was unavailable?

Posting on these boards was my only vent at the time. My conversation with the DVC reps was pleasant, but the fact that they had to "check the tape" upset me as well. Talking with other DVCers was all I could think of. I'm glad I posted this, as now others may be more prone to check their reservations and make sure DVC didn't change theirs as well. Plus, the responses I got were very encouraging (thanks!!).

Believe me when I say...that was a LONG three hours, but I must admit I was surprised they resolved it so quickly. I really expected more of a delay - even several days to resolve this - but I guess it was clear to DVC that they screwed up, so they fixed it immediately....or I was just really lucky. Either way, I'm glad it's over :)

I did not find you were being overly dramatic, and where else would one vent!??!!! I am certain I would have done the same thing (after calling my dh).
