Any help or suggestions welcome......

I live in Ottawa and am seeking to visit DisneyWorld Jan 26 - Feb 2 (Daughters b-day is 24th) but just can't get a flight that is reasonable (either too expensive or arrives late in Orlando and leaves very early coming back, basically losing 2 days right from the start.

The quotes that I have seen/received were in the 2,400 to 2,600 dollar value. flying with WestJet.....

that included, CBR 7 nights/7 MYW w/ Hopper (considering one of the 2 water parks is closed, there didn't seem to be a need for adding the waterpark option.

I've been to Disney in the past and have never paid nearly this much and stayed for 10 days (free dining) that included parkhopper/waterparks.

Am I completely missing the mark on the current pay for 4 get 3 free deal???
Is there anyone that can confirm that I am indeed getting a deal?

Thanks in advance!

I know what you mean--I tell you, sometimes I think it's all hyped up to be a much better deal than in reality it is!!!!!!!!!! Disney are NOT giving anything away-trust me.:confused3

It just depends on what resort you choose, I knwo people who i planned for got great deals, but they went with a value resort not a moderate. Flights from here in canada are not as cheap in the US. But on the bright side Disney is going to be sending out new pin codes very soon, the largest amount they have ever done. They are all going to be random codes not all the same, so see if you get one of those. I was told that if you have ordered a dvd before or done a wdw survey at the parks there's a good chance for one of those codes. I'm hoping to get one myself.

Flt Depart Arrive Stops

665 Syracuse, NY 4:16pm Orlando, FL 7:07pm 0 Stops
668 Orlando, FL 12:56pm Syracuse, NY 3:35pm 0 Stops

I know these times might not be what you want but, this is what I got out of Syracuse *I am in Kingston* @ 180.00 rt. p.person. That's double what I usually pay but, all airfares are ridiculous right now. It's with Jet Blue and it's non stop. The flight numbers are included there and this IS a regular daily flight. They have others with better times for you @ 89.00 dollars p.p. each way. I find the drive to Syracuse is GREAT. It's a good clear highway with not much traffic at all and it's always cheaper to fly out of there than it is for me to go to Ottawa or T.O.

We're flying out of Ottawa on WJ in early Feb. Direct flight. Great arrival and departure times. Did you use their website to get the pkg price or did you look at booking separately? I've heard that if you dont' go thru the link on the first page of WDW site for the 4/3 deal, you'll get full price quoted because the discount code isnt included. I would call and get a quote for the hotel with tickets for the number in your group to find out the real cost. Also, we have AP because we're making two trips in a year. The discount on hotel alone is way worth it. I found the AP discount rates were better than the 4/3 special for the Poly. Just a thought.

Sounds like you were trying to book through the Airline Package deals. If so, you will probably not get a quote that includes the 4/3 deal.

To get the 4/3 deal, you either have to know the discount code and be able to enter it on whatever system you are using to quote the vacation, calling Disney direct and requesting it, or go to Disney's website and clicking on the 4/3 deal link and book it through the "Get Started" link on the next page. If you go directly to Disney's normal reservations page, without going through the 4/3 link, you will be quoted full price.

And, yes, Disney is actually giving stuff away. 3 free nights means exactly that..... not to mention the $200 gift card offer that you can get as well.

ETA: Just thought I would throw out a pricing example for ref so everyone can see what savings there can be with the offer.

We booked the 4/3 deal, Mar 15-22, POR, 7 day MYW ticket, with hoppers, family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children 17, 15, 13). Total for Disney and tickets was $2315USD.

Quote, without the 4/3 deal, same options for tickets and number of people is $3060.

And, we qualify for the $200 gift card offer as well. That's a total of savings of $945.

I found it to be a great deal too. Definitely check which link you are selecting.

This is my package with the 4/3 deal:
Arriving :Tuesday 03/03/2009
Departing :Tuesday 03/10/2009 for 7 nights
2 Adults,1 Child,2 Infants

Resort Name:Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
Resort Category:Moderate Resorts
Room Type:Standard View

Park Tickets8-Day Magic Your Way Base Ticket
Package Type:Magic Your Way Package
Package Includes:Package Includes $200 Disney Gift Card

TOTAL = 1552.85

Without the 4/3 deal, I would pay $2,262.37 and I wouldn't get the $200 gift card.

My savings is: $909.52 if I include the gift card amount

If you are paying more than normal for airfare, then that could cancel out some savings. I'm driving across the border and scored a great deal on airfare. We are paying $146 CAD TOTAL per person, roundtrip from Minneapolis to Orlando.

Good luck with your package! Hope you can make it work.

We are staying at BW with passes on the 4/3... our TA booked of us and mistakenly quoted a deluxe. You have to book this with passes. Phoning WDW is a good idea or get TA to do it for nothing. Get a Disney expert! Ask here at Dreams Unlimited for a no obligation quote.

The price was so good and beyond my dreams to even think we could do this. We only have 7 days so we are saving hours of travelling from a vacation time and getting more for our money.

All my Disneyland vacations I have booked packages through Alaska Air (West Coaster here).
We are going in Sept in hopes of free dining and MNSSHP.
Instead of booking a airline package for 5 I've had to book hotel and parks with Disney. Each day I scour for decent the flights but so far it looks like $620 each.
The whole 7 night 2 room package at POP, tickets, and flights with Alaska would have been $5800 us. Maybe I should have forgone the hope of free dining with the way the pieced vacation is adding up?!

Thanks for all of your replies!

To answer some of the questions..........

It was a travel agent (local) that was quoting to me from these advertised airline package deals, such as Westjet? I've never gone the 'airline package' deal before, as I'm sure that my original TA booked things seperately. I'm assuming with these airline deals - they are lumping in an increasded price for flights?

Who was lumping in an increased price? The TA?
Westjet pay a nominal commission to Agents ..and at most they may add a small booking fee which by law is to be itemized and on the quote/Invoice.
That should be evident to see? Or not?

Your TA has to request the 4/3 deal when booking Disney, otherwise they will probably not be quoted 4/3. My travel agent always specificly asks for the deals, and then, once it's all booked, she very carefully reviews the details with Disney to be sure everything is correct.

Check with your travel agent to be sure she requested the 4/3 deal.

As for flights, we've always only paid what was advertised by the airlines. I assumed that the TA placed a fee on this, but when I asked my TA about it she said they don't add any additional fees. She told me they get paid by the airlines for booking customers.

Good luck with your booking.

I had booked pre- 4/3 special. I went and saw my travel agent and she re-booked us and we saved $400. Im very happy. :) That said we are flying out of Syracuse so we booked our own air..

We actually saved about $300 on the deal so I'm not sure why you aren't getting any savings. I'm including the $200 gift card as part of the savings.

We are going Mar 11-21 at CBR.

We saved about $900.00 plus the $200.00 gift card on top of that.

We were talking about POP century, but the deal paved our way to the upgrade.

Counting down the days. 54 & counting

The TA most likely books via the Disney Travel Agent site. There is a pull down menu where the promo you want is to be selected. The deal is there. As for the Airlines paying anything to book with them, nope. Not a dime. Just Westjet, very small amount. Hence that more and more are assessing a nominal booking fee.

I was in our TA's office For our most recent booking. She may have booked it through the Travel Agent site, but she then called them direct and went over the entire booking and was very careful to ask that the booking included the 4/3 deal, gift card, etc. That's the good thing about dealing with a good TA, they go the extra distance to make sure everything is correct.

I guess my point is, don't assume the TA's we deal with will go the extra distance. Don't be scared to ask them to double check the details. And, when it comes to deals that require discount codes, The TA I've been dealing with didn't know those discount codes, I've had to provide them (last year for free hopper, water park fun and more, for instance). So be sure to give your TA all the information you may have found.

I bit the bullet and have a reservation for Jan 29 - Feb 5th at CBR.

Expedia.ca was advertising direct flights from Ottawa to Orlando on my chosen dates - I'm paying just under 600.00 for 2 adults (return) so for that price I'm finally feeling like I'm getting a deal. My resort and parks tickets all came to 1,358.16. Which is the price I've been quoted on by 3 different agents (firgured a get a few comparisons *before* booking).

So I have 2 final questions......

My aplogies if this has been repeated on this forum (but I searched for a thread on the topic and couldn't find anything)

1. Will I recieve my 200.00 gift card upon arrival at CBR? Assuming so, is there a voucher I need prior? As I don't see anything of the sort on my already booked itenerary?

2. Does CBR offer free wireless in the rooms? if not, any idea how much is charged for useage?

Thanks in advance! :)
