Personally I don't care for the game type rides (participation) so the Smugglers Run holds no interest to me even though I'm a SW fan. I won't be excited/interested until ROTR is running.

You don't have to participate if you don't want to. Switch to engineer and don't push the flashing button when you sit down, and the ride will automatically complete your tasks for you.

All I know is everytime we go the CM ask as if expecting you to have an AP anytime you buy something or eat somewhere. WDW never does this, you have to tell them, I have an AP. DL appears to assume you will have one. Sure they get loads of tourists but I’d bet the farm that the percentage is lower at DL. That’s all. And it’s been clear by the attendance how many AP that can’t go can impact crowds.

You will get asked that all the time at DL (and there are lots of AP holders since it is in a huge population area for locals), but I also get asked that at WDW. I don't have an AP at either of them lol. The population between the Los Angeles area and San Diego people that go regularly definitely stacks the APs up. That, and for years they practically gave the APs to locals.

That's what I'd likely do (thanks), but either way I'm just underwhelmed from what I've read. I can't wait to try the ROTR though.

Agreed. One point that I don't recall being mentioned here (but it may have been) is that 80% of attendance at DL is AP holders. AP holders were blocked out from SWGE. Hard to achieve hype when you restrict 80% of your customer base. Fortunately, the same won't be true for WDW.

Summer though has always been blacked out for the majority of AP's so it was nothing new. And it's the busy time for non-AP holders. It just didn't happen though. We'll see how sustained it is at WDW. Some attractions have huge repeatability for me. Smugglers did not give me that feeling. I'll repeat of course at some time but something like FOP I wanted to do at least twice during a visit.
