*NOT POLITICAL* Chelsea's Wedding

She looks gorgeous. He looks a little thin and sickly again like he did when he was sick awhile back. I hope he gets better and maybe it's just a bad photo of him. He does need to put on a little weight. ;)

Anyone see the pics of B&H going to the after party? Hilary's dress was horrendous - a gigantic green mumu.:scared1:

I thought the dress was very pretty. Nice, flowing to be comfortable and cool, not knowing they would have the most beautiful weather of the summer instead of hot and sticky!

Absolutely stunning! It had to have been difficult for Chelsea to grow up in the spotlight the way she did, but she did it gracefully. She is such a beautiful young woman, and her wedding looked absolutely perfect! Good for her! :thumbsup2

I was thinking just the opposite as the "ugly" commenter. We have watched Chelsea grow up and what a beautiful woman she has become, hasn't she? It's likely the person who posted negatively about her looks is fairly young because (1), that's a pretty immature sentiment and (2) many of us remember Chelsea as an awkward little teenager (or was it a pre-teen? I think it was.)

When I got married, there was a reception in the room adjacent to mine. While waiting for our entrance, I had seen the bride and thought she was beautiful.

Later on, my mom's sisters were complimenting my appearance as I would expect anyone would do for the bride. They complimented me on my figure--I was thin. In fact my dress fit perfectly when I bought it. When it was a couple months before he wedding--it had to be taken in. I had tried to lose weight---but didn't intend it for the wedding and was kind of upset that I now had to pay money for my dress to fit right as I hadn't planned on that.

Anyway--my compliment came with a comment on the bride next door. I don't recall what they said exaclty other than it was some kind of large animal. I was appalled. On a bathroom run, I peeked at her as I passed their room and noticed then that the bride was larger than me. But all
I noticed originally was her radiance on her wedding day.

Some folks have difficulty finding beauty in anything and are always looking for flaws they find ugly. It isn't very nice.

On my wedding day--to my aunts---I was beautiful because I was skinny. That bothered me then and it bothers me now. I shudder to think of their thoughts I'd I hadn't lost 10-15 pounds or weighed 50 pounds more. Or if I never got braces.

She looks beautiful, just as a bride should look on her wedding day!

Bill has had a lot of heart problems in the last few years. This generally makes people look "older".

I think people forget that. He hasn't looked well since his last bypass surgery.

Chelsea looked beautiful and so happy. Very nice. :thumbsup2

I really like her dress. She has slimmed down quite a bit from what I remember of her.

I'm not a fan of Vera Wang, so this was a nice surprise. She has a clothing line at Kohl's and I honestly can't stand any of her styles. Of course, on the flip side, she is more creative and talented than I will ever be....so I shouldn't really talk. ;)

Why does she always look so frumpy when I see her on TV? For a designer, you would never know she was one~!

As for the wedding in itself:
I would never sacrifice my faith for love.
(That's all I'm gonna say....flame suit on!!!)

No flames because everyone has the right to their opinion. I don't really see the faith issue though. I feel like one partner can hold one view and the other another. Methodist, Jewish......eat too much steak, be a vegetarian....Couples often deal with certain issues from afar points of view.

(And I agree, I generally think VW herself looks like a hobo. )

I mentioned earlier that he had another heart problem issue during the Haiti earthquake. he went down there to help, and I think right after he left, he had to be hospitalized.

:confused3

It was an Interfaith ceremony. Both a Rabbi AND a Minister was there to officiate.

Is either of them sacrificing their faith for love?

I thought I read it was a Jewish ceremony? I didn't read anything about it being a dual faith ceremony.

I have known people who gave up their Christian faith to "become" Jewish....I never really understood that. I don't know how someone can just change their entire faith based on getting married to a man (vice versa).

Well, I better stop or this could be getting close to being a banned topic on here.

You thought wrong. nobody gave up anything. It was an interfaith wedding and it will be an interfaith marriage.

When I saw your post I went looking through my newspapers because I had read that there was a Rabbi because he was Jewish and a Minister because she was Methodist. I couldn't find it though but I knoiw I read it.

I really liked that dress too. Hilary looked almost as radiant as the bride.

Indeed - the decision to inter-marry is typically, itself, an indicator of a specific set of beliefs and values (though it is not necessary to inter-marry to hold to those beliefs and values).

I don't know much about either of them but is their faith an extremely important part of their lives? Did they just have the Rabbi and Minister because thats what was expected of them? Not trying to make this about religion, just wondering about the young couple. I assume they are because they are not very young so if thats the case I'm thinking neither have given up anything instead they are each embracing the other's faith.
