Not paying by the deadline???

Hello, I think I'm going to be a few hundred shy by the time my final payment is due. Has anyone ever called Disney to ask for an extension? If so, how was your experience with this and how far out were they willing to extend final payment? Thanks in advance!
 
Yes, we have had to get an extension. I called and they gave me an extra 14 days. That was all I needed, so I didn't ask if they could go longer.

It really depends on the CM and the computer. A co worker called and ask for another 14 days. It was acceptable but when it became due by 45 days mark. When it wasn't made the computer cancel it. Just saying I would ask for an email. My views only. Good luck
 
We were a few days late on our last trip, it was due on a Tuesday and we paid on that Friday. I didn't bother calling and it was not a problem. It says in the emails that the final payment can be mailed (snail mail) so I think they are pretty fluid on the final date.
 
You can call and reduce the amount of days on the tickets to the minimum required on your package, and/or eliminate the park-hopper option (if you have it). This may be enough to cover the amount you currently owe. You can always add the additional days/park-hopper option when you arrive.
 
This is copied from the email you get if you miss the deadline:
"Your Walt Disney World® Resort reservation is past due for final payment. This is the last notice that will be provided. If full payment is not received at least 14 days prior to arrival, this reservation will be cancelled and any amounts paid, minus cancellation fees, vacation insurance premium, airline fees and other amounts owed, will be refunded."
 
You can pay up to 14 days late, but that can be extended,up to a month by a manager as long as your no more then 500 out,
 
Does anyone know if it is still the case that you can actually pay up to 14 days prior to arrival with the new final payment date now being 30 days before arrival??

I called today to ask for a final payment extension for myself and my mother and the cm I spoke to said they can't extend the final payment date only a deposit date. I'm really hoping for another week or so to payoff our trips since we have had some unforeseen expenses.

As far as I know as long as you have paid over half the amount of the final balance they will allow this.
Normally even as long as you pay an amount when you call they are happy to allow you another wk, we did this last may with no problems.
As military had screwed up our months wages.
Always ask to speak to a supervisor. As most phone Cm's do not know about doing this.
