Well, no work was done on STELLA tonight but we did ride her around a bit. Her gears work well but she could stand to be a bit tighter. A new clutch cable will take care of that so we'll do that tomorrow night.

Chapter 2 - Reach the Beach!

Spent some time relaxing around the house while the girls slept in really late; did some reflecting upon recent events in my life; got some reading done. It was bloody hot and the girls weren't even in a mood to go to a mall so we all just hung around the house, everyone ooohing and aaahing over little baby Aiden:

We did end up going bowling later that evening (where I caught this pic of the massive amounts of enthusiasm they were showing):

They actually were havnfn...I just caught that pic just right.

But it was during this fun-filled outing that I managed to wrench my back when my foot stuck on approach as I was bowling. Must have gotten my back out of whack....stupid car wrecks years ago. At least I bowled over 150 both games (I get ticked off at myself if I don't at least shoot a 150, even in cruddy house shoes and using a house ball)

We got back to my DD's friend's place (pic of their house posted earlier) and we enjoyed some homemade Thai food (her friend's mom is from Thailand) and mmm mmmm mmmm was that some good food!

The time has come to head for FL from NC. The girls all had fun hanging out again and were happy they got to see little Aiden. Took my time waking up and getting ready as my back was really sore. Ugh...hope some relaxing at the beach will help it out!

Should be at my Dad's condo by dinner time and heading straight for the water!

And no internet access for a few days either. All the better!

(well, was able to surf a bit from my phone )

About 11am we finally get on the road and here's a bit of play-by-play for the drive down to Ormond Beach:

11:35am - NC is kinda boring. Not much to look at. They like their NASCAR though! iPod on Hannah's Jonas Brothers and other pop stuff. blah. he he.

1:05pm - In S.C. now...paid off stretching the gas. $3.47 vs. $3.85 in NC. Awwww...just saw a car w/a Mickey Mouse sticker! Less than an hr from Columbia. Wish I had ABbie's cell #. Haven't seen her since the last time thru Columbia 2yrs ago. I'll leave another comment on her myspace. ha ha. omg...NSYNC now playing...Bye Bye Bye.

1:20pm - lol...Jonas Bros' version of A Pirate's Life For Me... Arrrrr

2:30pm - And he will now attempt a Whole Don. No one has ever done more than a Half Don. Hunh? What's that Hannah? Oh, the Jonas Bros song is called Hold On?? my bad...or something. (hi Orangeburg, SC) oy vey...WV SUV with gadgets galore on his windshield. Oh, outside temp? Tres chaud! Translation...hotter than balls. 102F!

2:59pm - I-95!

3:35pm - Passed Hobo Joe's Fireworks a bit ago. Place will probably spontaneously combust soon...105F outside!

5:20pm - First raindrops of entire trip (Ga, of course). Half hour til FL. Bill Cosby telling us about Go Carts.

6:03pm - 17 mile marker in GA. Stopped almost...bad wreck...almost passed it.

6:20pm - We're in FL! We'll exit onto A1A south of St Augustine and drive along the coast until we get to Ormond. A 'tradition' of ours. John Fogerty - Don't You Wish It Was True

8:00pm - Ahhhh...driving the coast at Ft Matanzas as the sun is setting. mmmmm. Listening to the anthem from Powaqaatsi. And I'll leave ya with that as we're just about 20 min. away from my Dad's place. We have finally Reached the Beach!

*As you know, I live in this little hell known as Georgia. It think it's a mission of most Georgians to piss off people traveling to Florida, as evidenced by the senseless wreck & rain. I'm sorry you had to experience that. At least you had the Jonas Brothers there to keep you entertained

In the mean time, I'll just keep looking and smiling at the photo of adorable little Aiden whilst I wait for the next update. Le bébé, il est très mignon! (And no, I'm not calling him a piece of meat, Jerry. )
