Will be visiting MK, Epcot and Hollywood Studios, can you recommend places that are reasonable for someone not on the dining plan, thanks.

Sci Fi and Mama Melrose for lunch at DHS
The Plaza for lunch at MK
Rose and Crown and Les Chefs de France at lunch at Epcot

There are several reasonably priced options at resorts too - particularly Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Villas, Kona Cafe at the Poly, and The Wave at the Contemporary for all meals.

And if you are stopping by at DTD, don't forget the Earl of Sandwich. If you dont need the whole credit deal like you would have on the DDP, you can skip dessert and get a meal and a drink (which you can refill if this hasn't changed) and still have change left over from $10.

The rotisserie chicken dinner at Flame Tree BBQ in AK and at Cosmic Ray's in MK are both big enough to split - we did it a couple of times and it was plenty. Who can eat an entire half chicken alone?

I highly recommend the ham & cheese croissant at the Patisserie bakery in France (Epcot). Ask for it heated. It uses a snack credit and is quite cheap if you're paying OOP. It's delicious and filling too!

At Downtown Disney, you can split a pizza at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe and just order two drinks. It was plenty. We also love the Earl of Sandwich but we've never split a meal there.

MK - Cosmic Ray's for counter service (agree with prior poster about the chicken dinner); Liberty Tree Tavern for table service

Studios - Pizza Planet for counter service (meal deal - personal pan pizza, salad & drink - enough to split); 50's Prime Time Cafe for table service

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons for counter service (huge variety); Biergarten for table service (particularly lunch).

Also agree with another poster about the resort food courts, particularly their dinner offerings. One of the best values on property.

Columbia Harbor House in MK has great sandwiches and Sunshine Seasons in Epcot has a tremendous selection of yummy food!

I second Columbia Harbor House. I am leaving Saturday for WDW, and I'm going on a tight budget. On my MK day, I plan on eating at Columbia Harbor House and having a bowl of clam chowder for $4.49. It's very yummy and filling!

For the truly least expensive (nothing at Disney qualifies as cheap):

HS:
Backlot Express
ABC Commissary
Pizza Planet

Epcot:
Sunshine Food Court
Electric Umbrella
Rose & Crown Pub

MK:
El Pirata y El Perico
Cosmic Ray
Pinocchio Village Haus

AK:
Flame Tree BBQ
Pizzafari

DTD:
Earl of Sandwich
Wolfgang Puck Express

Most of these are good food, nothing fancy, but between them can offer you many options for what you are going to eat. For the most part they all have limited menus and you can look around and get an idea of the portion sizes before you order. As some others have said, there are many meals offered that are big enough to split, especially for lunch.

The Plaza restaurant at MK is probably my favorite at the park. I have heard the lunch at Liberty Tree is very good and also a great value.

Try 50s Prime Time at MGM for dinner. It is one of the lower priced TS on property.

Epcot:

Joy of Tea Stand (Kiosk near lake in China) has a meal deal which is great for Lunch or Dinner. Lucky Combo - combination of Pork Bun, Chicken Pocket, an Egg Roll, with your choice of a soft drink and an ice cream $9.98 This meal is yummy and comes with drink and dessert for under ten dollars.

Kringla Og Cafe (counter service in Norway) has a nice soup and sandwich combo for just under ten dollars. The soup is very yummy, filling, and comforting on a cool day. Outdoor covered seating.

If you want to eat indoors, Yakatori House has not only a beautiful Japanese garden to enjoy outdoors, but a small indoors eating area as well. The Japanese Curry dish is $8.50.

Magic Kingdom:

Columbia Harbor House has indoor seating, usually more quiet upstairs, and some of my favorite eats. My daughter and I can happily split the Lighthouse Sandwich and a Bowl of Chowder. The total for both is 12.78 before tax. If you get waters to drink it comes out less than $7 per person.

Casey's Corner has an all beef hot dog meal, with either fries or apple slaw for $6.59. Add in a box of Cracker Jack at $1.50 and your meal is only a little over 8 dollars.

Hollywood Studios:

Starring Rolls has outdoor seating, but they have a HUGE sandwich that is perfect for sharing. Their black forest ham sandwich, with chips or fruit is a little over $9 and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake is rather pricy at a penny less than $4, but it is amazing (frankly all their cupcakes are astonishing) and if you are splitting this meal the cost per person is still less than $7 each including tax.

Studio Catering Company has a Greek Salad for $6.50 with Kalamata Olives and Feta Cheese. It was very good.

Edited to add: My son just corrected me and informed me that Casey's no longer had an all beef hot dog, they are now a beef/chicken dog served on the new Disney Bun. While we eat exclusively whole grains at home, the new buns are astonishingly dry and fragile. They fell apart on our last trip and tasted like eating napkins. They are a blight on the good name of whole grain everywhere. So, I sadly remove Casey's from our recommended cheap eats list. My son recommends heading to Main Street Bakery where a tasty Ham Egg and Cheese Croissant and Cinnamon Bun as big as your head will set you back a bit less than $10.
