Not Much Sleep - But Boy Did We Have Fun

Ive often wondered what we would do if there during a storm. thanks for sharing.

Can't wait to hear about Typhoon Lagoon...we're planning on checking it out on our next trip.

Keep up the good work...but try not to get fired! LOL!

I can't wait to hear more. Sounds like everytime you were ready to go on a ride, it was down. Hope the next few days are better. How fun it must be for a mother/daughter trip. I have a trip planned in August with my 11 and 13 year old sons.

Great TR!
I'm at work listening to Mouse World Radio on Live 365, reading TR's and wondering if I can actually make it until Aug 2007 before our next trip. :rolleyes1
If DH could move his vacation week from July to Aug for Free Dining we would be there this year!
I can't hardly stand it!! :sad1:

LOVE your TR -- especially since I travel to WDW with my granddaughter, age 11 too! It's kind of a tough age because they still feel the magic, but at times are on guard for anything that might make them look too "babyish." The two of us have a great time and are the only true Disney-lovers in our family. The others may go once in a while, but they just slow us down! Can't wait to hear about your day at TL; we're going next trip! :Pinkbounc

Tuesday June 13th

When we woke up it was still raining and we turned on the news to get an update about the storm. From what we coulf tell it was going to make landfall in a couple of hours, but wasn't going to hit Orlando directly, so we decided to continue with our plans to go to Typhoon Lagoon, figuring that we were going to be wet anyway. There was no one on the bus with us, in fact there was hardly anyone out at all. It had stopped raining, but by the time we got inside and picked out our spot it started to sprinkle. We walked around a little and DD went on a few water slides - I like very gentle water slides and found a few that I wanted to try out later in the day when it was a little warmer. We made our way back to the wave pool and one of the CM's was saying that if more people didn't show up they would have to close. Over the next hour the sun and sprinkles came and went, and more people showed up so we stopped worrying that they would close. DD had so much fun in the wave pool that she didn't want to get out to go on slides. As the morning progressed there was more and harder rain, and the temperature began to drop. I finally coaxed her out of the wave pool to eat. For desert they gave us the biggest ice cream cones that I had ever seen, they would have been great on a hot day. DD went on a couple more slides and snorkeled with the sharkes (I had really wanted to do this as I love snorkeling, but it was too darn cold), and then we headed back to the wave pool. A few minutes later the skies opened up and it rained so hard I couldn't see anything and had trouble catching my breath. We grabbed our stuff and headed to the bathroom and dried off as best we could. We decided to head back to the hotel and make a new plan for the afternoon. We spent about 3 hours at Typhoon Lagoon and in spite of the rain we had a good time. We will definately try it again on our next trip. We showered and then decided to go back to Epcot since DD hadn't had a chance to spend much time playing the games in Future World. By the time we got there the rain had basically stopped and we had a great time. We had dinner reservations for Boma that night so we jumped on a bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Although we found all the CM's and bus drivers to be pleasant, the bus drivers on the buses to the deluxe resorts were especially nice. We wandered all around the Animal Kingdom Lodge and looked at the animals. There were CM's outside to tell you all about the animals and we spoke to a very nice young man from South Africa. We checked in at Boma and were seated in less than 5 minutes. I have to say that this was the best food that I ever had. I loved everything I tried, especially the coconut curry fish soup  , the pasta salad, and of course the zebra domes. We took the bus back to Epcot and then got the bus back to our hotel (I'm sure that there was a shorter way to get there, but it was nice not having to share a bus with the other All Star's as we had to do from the other locations). So even with the bad weather in the morning and the change in plans we still had a wonderful day.

Tomorrow - Bibbity Bobbity Boutique, Disney Quest, & Cirque du Soliel

Great trip report. I hope all is well with your house hunting. I just bought a house and my wrist still hurts from signing my life away

Wednesday June 14th

Oops, I said in my last post that we went to Disney Quest today, but that is tomorrow, today we went to Disney MGM Studios. The weather was sunny, hot and beautiful, and we made it for rope drop. We headed over to The Great Movie Ride (kind of cute) and the Backlot Tour (a little disappointing - guess I was expecting something more along the lines of the Backlot Tour at Universal Studios in California). It was very crowded as they were having Extra Magic Hours that day. We made our dining reservations 180 days in advance and I didn't know there was a way to find out Extra Magic Hours that far in advance so we could avoid them. We saw the Little Mermaid show, rode Star Tours, and played in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids area. I had been going back and forth about riding Rockin' Rollercoaster, but with all the crowds we decide to use one of our tickets to get a fast pass for DD to ride and use the other to get her a fast pass for Tower of Terror (NO chance I'm riding that!). We saw lots of characters, including Lightning McQueen and Mater, but DD was totally excited to see Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable. After a while she got tired of standing in line to get autographs, but we did manage to snap a few pics of Darth Vader and the Power Rangers. We split a burger, fries, onion rings, and a chocolate shake from Sci-Fi Dine-In for lunch. It was good, but even with sharing we could not finish it all. We split a lot of meals while we were there and no one ever gave us a hard time about it, and we never felt that we were treated any differently because we had the dining plan. For dinner we went to the 50's Prime Time Cafe'. We got Aunt Jenni and she was wonderful. She took pictures of us, tied bibs around our necks and after several warnings to get her elbows off the table DD got sent to the corner (I tried to tell her that would happen, but she thought I was kidding :rotfl: ), she was embarrassed, but she had a great time and says that we definately must go back again on our next trip. We went to the parade and DD didn't complain too much when I reminded her that I sat and waited for her to ride Rockin' Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror. We decided to go back to the hotel to go swimming instead of watching Fantasmic :scared1: (before you get too upset, let me explain that we saw Fantasmic 3 weeks before this at Disneyland). After a hour or so of swimming we decided that we needed pizza (yes, even after all that food we've been eating all week), so we went to the food court and split a small one. This was the only extra money we spent on food all week :teeth: . We went off to bed late again.

Tomorrow we're off to Disney Quest - I promise.

We were at Animal Kingdom on Sunday also! We had extra FastPasses that we gave away to a very grateful family. Too bad you didn't get to ride it! Maybe next time?

We went to Magic Kingdom on Monday in the tropical storm. It was really empty. Maybe hurricane season is a good time to go to Disney?!

:lmao:

Still enjoying your report. Can't wait to see what you thought of Disney Quest and the Cirque show (one of my favorites).

Still a great TR! Havent been to Disney Quest-looking forward to your thougths.

Sounds fantastic ~ Can't wait to read more.

Thursday June 15th

We were up early again today to go back to Down Town Disney, DD had an appointment at the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. At first I said no to this since we have a Girl Mania and Club Libby Lu with-in 45 minutes of our house and DD has been to both of them, but then I thought about how she would have outgrown this by the time we make it back to WDW again so I said yes :p . We went for the middle package and DD had a great time and looked beautiful (could have passed for 13 with the hair extensions and make-up). After picking up some pirate gear pirate: and a few things to take home for our family and friends it was time for Disney Quest to open. I didn't really know if I was going to like this or not, but DD loves video games and anything that she can push a button on (I'm getting to the point of just turning all the electric gadgets over to her since she is much better at that stuff than me), but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. We grabbed some lunch at the restaurant upstairs (the chicken burrito wrap was very yummy) and while we ate we went over the descriptions of the attractions and picked which ones we wanted to try 1st. We loved the Pirates of the Caribbean and the Buzz Lightyear bumper cars (?), and went on those twice, DD designed a roller coaster and tried to talk me into riding it with her, but I chickened out  . Later I designed one and she rode with me and pronounced it boring  . She made a CD and now goes around signing her song - When I Rule The World. Hail Queen Krista. princess: We had a really great time. We had reservations for Planet Hollywood to use our voucher, but decided to go back to Disney Quest after Cirque Du Soliel if we had any energy left. I wasn't very hungry, so we just used the voucher for spagetti for DD and I had a few bites - it was pretty good. Cirque Du Soliel was great - we especially enjoyed the 4 little girls with those yo-yo type things. DD was going to use some of her money to buy some afterwards, but when she saw how much they were she changed her mind. We went back to Disney Quest and spent about an hour doing our favorites again and then headed back to the hotel.

Tomorrw - Magic Kingdom

Friday June 16th

We had 8AM reservations for Cinderella's Royal Table, so we were up early again (this should be the theme of the whole trip). I was really excited about this since I love Cinderella and all the Princesses, and once DD was fully awake she got excited too. We were 2nd in line to meet Cinderella and the picture came out beautifully, DD still had her hair in from Bibbity Bobbity Boutique, and she had on her Cinderella t-shirt. We were seated by the window and DD was given a magic wand and a wishing star. The food was great and our server Kier was very nice. Snow White, Aurora, Belle, and the Fairy Godmother all came by for photos and autographs, and then there was a cute little ceremony. DD and I were outside by the ropes about 8:55. I had told DD about waking up Tinkerbelle, but I stressed that she could not run, and that if someone else asked first at least she would get to watch. After the rope drop we walked to Tinkerbelle's Treasures and there was no one else there - everyone else seemed to be heading straight for Dumbo, so DD asked if she could wake up Tinkerbelle and as the CM was handing her the wand another family came running in. When the dad saw my DD he started cursing - even using the F word, saying how they had ran all the way there. I was upset that DD's special moment was messed up by that jerk :furious: because after he came in all she wanted to do was get it over with and get out of there. We didn't let it spoil the rest of our day though. We road lots of rides even though it was very crowded (Extra Magic Hours) and hot. It was fun to check out all the differences in the rides at Magic Kingdom compared to Disneyland. We watched Cinderellabration, and Storytime With Belle, and watched the parade by accident - since DD hadn't complained about the other 2 shows and we had already seen several parades I told her that we could skip this one, but we were stuck with no where to go so I got to watch it :woohoo: . I think DD even enjoyed it when she finished pouting. I did something that I never did before - I road Splash Mountain. It was very cute and getting wet felt great. DD was very impressed that I overcame my fear of drops to ride it with her (in the front row no less). We ate dinner at Tony's and were dis-appointed that we weren't able to get Lady & Tramps autographs (apparently they lost the box that had their autograph stamps in it). After dinner we rode a few more rides and headed back to the hotel about the time the fireworks were starting - we were planning on seeing those the next night. We are still trying to decide which versions of the rides we like better, but seems like we are leaning toward WDW version of Space Mountain and Disneyland version of Haunted Mansion.

Tomorrow - 1900 Park Fare & horseback riding
