Not making ADRs before trip?

Only ADR that we made was for Trails End dinner. The rest of the time we were happy with our food court, QS spots and our dinner at the Plaza Restaurant which we just arranged on the fly. There were just 2 of us (and I am talking about this past busy week) but I saw many places that still had ADRs available....if you didn't mind eating fashionably late like they do in much of Europe!

As it doesn't cost anything to make your ADRs, I'd say if there is a restaurant or two you really, really want to eat at, or on a specific time/date, then make an ADR. You can always cancel if you change your plans or your mind.

@nursejackie is correct. If there is somewhere you really want to dine at, make an ADR.

The last couple of trips we went on, we made only two ADRs ahead of time. I made two for the week that I hope to visit next March. It doesn’t cost anything to lock down what I hope to do.

But it’s stressful enough IMO when you’re there to keep a schedule for Fast Passes and fireworks. If we can do without many ADRs for eating, it makes for a more relaxing trip.

While it doesn't cost anything to make an ADR, they do charge you if you cancel within 24 hours. Once I was charged this fee because I cancelled an in-park ADR during a rainstorm.

We generally don't unless there is somewhere we really really want to eat.

We mainly go with one or two ADRs and if we can't find anything we fancy day off we eat offsite.
