well we head off on our hols in just 9 days time but as we are staying on a campsite for 9 nights first we don't arrive at DLP until 8th october.

i have got all our passports etc. and have printed off the booking confirmation letter i was emailed.

i have booked 2 GMFB's and lunch at lucky nugget for our first day, the rest of the time we will book on the morning for what we want to do that evening

I have a nationwide cash card with a cirrus symbol on it, we have used it in many cash machines in france no problem but not at DLP, whereabouts are the cash machines and should i have no problems using this card? we do have a credit card as back up too should we need it.

Just wondering what to pack really, was thinking of just packing trousers, tees, cardi's, body warmers and waterproofs, do you think this will be okay?
DD haslots of these smock top ands legging outfits do you think these will be suitable if she has some warm cardi's and coats.

anything else i need to think about? as we are self catering the week before i will have some teabags and stuff with me and will buy a couple of mugs and get a kettle from housekeeping so we can have tea

is there any laundry facilities at all (staying at SL), i will have enough clothes for the kids but just in case we have any major accidents and i need to wash some stuff through?

thanks

You shouldn't have any problem using you debit card out there but if you do I'm sure there is a cash point in Discoveryland by the Buzz ride/shop unless I imagined it. I also think there is one in the Village too.

I think there is only dry cleaning service at the SL, having said that there is a Launderette at the Hotel Cheyenne.

Have a great trip

thanks, might just get out the cash we need for DLp in the village where the campsite is before setting off for DLP, at least we know we can get money out there

Was having a clear out this morning and found my maps from last year.

Just had a look at the maps and there are 2 ATMs in the Studios and 3 in the PArk.
1 near to Buzz light Year in Discovery land. 1 Main street, 1 Adventureland.

Just as a word of warning, I don't know if it will apply so much in France, but sometimes if your bank card/credit card are used in a different country to normal your card issuer *may* freeze them...it's an anti fraud system. It is advisable to ring your card issuer to confirm that you will be using your card abroad between the dates of your trip 'just in case'.

I say this as a Brit living in Germany. I know several people who have had their UK accounts frozen due to this anti fraud system because people didn't advise the banks etc that they were living overseas.

Like I say, I don't know if it will apply to France as it is so 'convenient' to UK for trips here and there but always better to err on the side of caution I think.

Good advice :thumbsup2 We did this in the summer as all our spending was put on Nationwide credit card and withdrawls from ATM on Nationwide debit card. As we went with under €100 in cash for an 11 day stay didn't want the cards to be refused :)

Am I right in thinking you are staying at Berny Riviere campsite? If so dont forget your swimming things. The site has a fabulous pool (undercover) which DD spent hours in when we went.

There is also a launderette there on site if you do feel the need to do some washing :laundy:

The only other thing I would recommend are some snacks to nibble at popcorn:: Im assuming you are driving so will probably be taking these anyhow.

We took a travel kettle and mugs with us to save having to get them although its a good souvenir anyhow buying a couple of mugs. We also took a small flask which we used to put milk in- it kept fresh for approx a day.

This is good advice, I know for a fact Nationwide CC will be frozen unless they are informed this is what they told me when I called. We always phone even if we are only going to France on a day.

Thanks everyone for your advice

small world, it is berny riviere we are staying at, it will be our 5th trip there and we love it, hubby fishes and me and the kids swim. Last time we brought some snacks and water etc. with us which was useful for the room. i think this time i will get some of the little bottles of longlife milk they sell and we can put one on ice in the morning for DS bedtime drink.
