Do you think its worth spending the money to go to Universal/IOA for 2 days if we're not into thrill rides? Also, someone please tell me what happens on the Jimmy Neutron ride. Is it fast and scary at all? Thanks.;)

I'm not into thrill rides at all, but, I love IOA and US. US has alot more tamer rides and Jimmy Neutron is not scary at all! You sit and watch a movie and your car moves up and down and shakes. There are certain car's that don't move and you can just site and watch the movie.

IOA I love for it's theming, I like the Popeye and Bluto water ride, the Juraissic Park water ride, Seuss Landing and Spiderman.

US I love MIB, Back to the Future, Jaws, Twister, and I even rode the Mummy ride, which if your not into thrill rides, I probably wouldn't do it. I wasn't really scared but, just a little nauseous when I got off.

Have fun!

ABSOLUTELY!!!! There's only a couple of "thrill" rides at UO....

nope...not fast, not scary...just fun!! like the above poster mentioned, your car just moves around to "simulate" moving thru the movie....and...you even get to do the chicken dance at the end....a ride for the family. I believe kids need to be 40" to ride the simulator/moving cars...so, at 40", you know it's not rough!

I can't do the thrill rides, weak stomach. . . :crazy2: , but we enjoyed it and are heading back next month.

:cool1:

We go to US and IOA because my hubby and teenage kids love it. I get motionsickness (even wearing Sea Bands) so there is not a lot that I can do there. IOA...if you are afraid of coasters, there is not much at all for you. The water rides are fun, but you could drenched on some. I get sick on Spiderman and even the Cat in the Hat ride, because it turns a lot. At US there will be more for you to do. Twister might scare very young children, but you just stand there and image you are in a hurricane so I think you'll be ok. Back to the Future is a motion simulator that moves A LOT, so keep it in mind...not scary though. MIB if a lot of fun. If I don't go on twice in a row I can do it without getting sick. The Mummy wasn't scary but again...motion sickness. There is a very very funny show about horror makeup. Not scary. The animal show is great and the ET ride is cute. Jaws is there, and that's not really scary unless perhaps you are very young. I can't remember what else is there.

I think that the deal right now on the 7 day pass (for $85/adult) makes it worth your while to but it. You can check out both parks. The one day pass is not much cheaper. You never know. You might find some things that you like in IOA. And if not, you can always go back over to US and re-ride the ones that you did like.

have fun!

I can understand Hulk and DD, but most (not ALL) people don't have a problem with Spiderman, Storm Force Acceleration, Cat in the Hat, etc.... There's plenty to do at IOA w/o the coasters....All of SuessLanding, shows, the water rides, Jurassic Park area.....don't be deterred by the Hulk, DD and Flying Unicorn coasters.....

I didn't do the Hulk or Dueling Dragons when we went. Mostly because my second DD wasn't tall enough, but I wasn't sorry to not ride it. I'm a little chicken. I do ride coasters but don't enjoy them all that much.

And I STILL had a great time at Universal! There is a lot to do without the big coasters.

I normally get motion sick on rides like Body Wars and Star Wars at Disney. But Spiderman didn't make me sick. I did feel a little queezy on BTTF, but I LOVE  that movie so tried to really enjoy it.

Although my favorite part about our Universal trip was the relaxing visit (no commando plans necessary) and our afternoons by the pool at the hotel (which we don't normally do at Disney.)

MIB was fun!! I beat everyone. But that's because I read all the tips on the thread above and I didn't tell anyone else about that thread!!

You will have a great time!!!! I don't like the 2 big coasters but LOVE everything else.

You'll have fun. The wife enjoys hanging out at the hotel, pool, and the restaurants. It's the fact that you're away from everything for a few days.

have fun!

Carroseussel, One Fish Two Fish, The High in the Sky Suess Trolley Train Ride, Flying Unicorn, Sinbad, If I ran the zoo, Camp Jurassic, Pterradon Flyers, The JP Discovery Center, Jurassic park River Adventure, me ship the olive, Dr. Doom, Dudley Do Right, Blutos Bilge Rat Barges, the Super Hero Parade, IVillage Live.....but theres not much at all

So, how's that whole blindfold thing workin' out for ya?

There's not much at all... except for the park's other 18 attractions.

For some there isn't much at IOA. To each their own, thats why we each have opinions and options.
I personally love US/IOA but the only things at IOA (for me) is: Popeye, JP River Ride, Spiderman, and Dudley .. however (to me) it isn't worth visiting for just Spiderman if I don't feel like getting wet .. I'd rather just ride MIB over and over and over and over. However, if you have younger kids.. *definitely* visit IOA. If your a first, second timer .. *definitely*visit IOA.

I'm going to check out the Trolley ride (which, to me, isn't a repeat ride) and iVillagelive when we go back, and of course the must-see Spiderman.

The point is that there is a lot to do. And there was a comment that there are only a few playgrounds...try four....and I see room for a fifth... IOA is a great place to explore...we are AP holders, go on average of once a month...a lot of times more...and find new things every single time we go.

Yes, for some, that's true. But that's not what the poster stated. You'd have to be afraid of a lot more than coasters for there to be little options at IOA. Even your list excluded many attractions that are tamer than the ones you listed, but I'm assuming that's because you're simply not interested in them.

There's only three coasters in IOA, two of which are considered a single attraction. Were simply tired of people exaggerating IOA's lack of accessibility to people who don't ride coasters. I myself have never stepped foot on them, and it makes little difference.

I don't do spinning rides, coasters, major big drops (like that Dr. Doom thing), and I looooove IOA/US. No Orlando trip would be complete without a few days at both parks for me.

The food/dining options are fantastic. The shopping is really good, too. The character interaction blows other parks in Orlando out of the water. The Spiderman ride is reason enough to go to IOA, IMO. Just the theming of IOA brings tears to my eyes. The parks are just so relaxing and fun. Most Orlando vacations without IOA/US, I feel the need to go, go, go, constantly plan and stress. Not so with IOA/US.

These parks are great fun for the non-thrill-seeker, too.
